RE: How to camp with electric only

We carry a 7 gallon potable water jug that we use to supplement our 65 gallon onboard tank as needed. When the jug is empty, we take it to the nearest community source and refill it. If we need more water in the onboard tank, we just use the winterization suction hose on our pump to refill the onboard tank from the portable jug. Could you explain this a bit. Do you just open both valves and it flows into, instead of out of, the tank?

RE: Seasonal in N. Indiana or SW Michigan

Hmmmm..I was interested in River Ridge so I googled and this is the first place that came up: Kentucky's first and only exclusively male, private, members-based, clothing optional Campground & RV Park now celebrating our 3rd season anniversary year!

RE: should i raise tires off the ground for long storage

Leaving them raised off the ground makes them much easier to steal.

RE: Seasonal in N. Indiana or SW Michigan

You'd better check the rules and talk to them. "All RVs must be 28’ or longer, 10 years or newer or like new condition upon approval from Management."

RE: Android question

Problem with Android, every manufacturer has its own way of doing thing. That's why I love my Pixel

RE: Android question

Go to "storage" in your settings and look at what is taking up the space. You may find any number of things taking up a lot of space that you could delete or move. Virtually nothing gets saved on the SD card by default so you may need to tweak settings for photos, music, etc.

RE: Michigan state parks extend closures

Ron Olson, chief of the DNR Parks and Recreation Division, said he and his staff are eager to welcome back campers and visitors, but proper safety precautions and maintenance work must happen first. “We know millions of residents are eager to return to state parks and recreation areas, and we will be here to serve them and make their visits as enjoyable as possible, but we have to open the right way and be certain that facilities and sites are clean, safe and ready to accommodate everyone,” Olson said. Prep time needed to get facilities ready To prepare state-managed parks, trails and boating facilities, many important tasks must be completed once nonessential work is permitted. The department anticipates staff can start work May 15 once the stay-at-home order is lifted; prep work is expected to take roughly five weeks. Duties include: • Acquiring drinking water permits from county health departments. • Opening bathrooms. • Hiring and training seasonal staff. • Ensuring sanitation systems are running efficiently. • Making progress on infrastructure needs. • Other operational duties Looks to me like it's the DNR that's the issue here, not the Governor. They're the ones saying it's going to take them 5 weeks.

RE: Full Hookup Sites on Lake Michigan

"Good info. Personally having lived right on a real beach for a number of years, the beach is not my cup of tea unless it's from a fishing standpoint. I'll take woods and mountains. Alconac has always been on the bucket list. I can live with a parking lot and no shade for a few days to watch the freighters." Algonac is at least better than a parking lot. In fact the wagon wheel section is wooded with lots of shade. If you want the best view of the freighters though, you'd better have your finger on the reserve button 6 months in advance. The view is across the highway but still great.

RE: Full Hookup Sites on Lake Michigan

If there's a full hookup campground actually on Lake Michigan, I've never heard of it and I live here.

RE: Any new options for casting from a mobile device to a TV?

This is more of a question rather than an answer...but why can't you just get a cheap router and establish a wifi network? You don't really need internet access.

RE: Glacier 2020 vanished

Just wondering if this has anything to do with RVing, at least in my lifetime.

RE: POP vs IMAP..should be easy but..

Your email client can also be set to Delete the message from the server when downloaded. That doesn't sound right to me. Yes, if you delete the email it's deleted from the server, but if using Outlook or something similar it's still available locally.
