My key fob quit working

The key fob for my 2018 PleasureWay Sprinter built on a 2017 chassis has quit working even though I put in new batteries and cleaned the contacts that are accessible. In the beginning the problem was sporadic and now it's totally dead. I've also tried different new batteries with no luck. Mercedes says new key fob not available until January of 2023 at a cost of $218+programing. I've tried to take the unit apart for removing the board but no luck.I think it's glued together. Are there any companies that repair these? Have any of you had your key fobs repaired? Has anyone successfully disassembled their MB Sprinter key fobs?

Exactly my thought.

RE: AC Quits Blowing Cold after a few minutes

After replacing the high and low pressure valves was the system evacuated? Not evacuating the system after opening it and exposing it to air, not having the proper equipment like gauges and not knowing the proper pressures at the ambient temperatures will cause all kinds of problems. Prior to the attempt to charge the system had it been open and exposed to air? If so, the drier needs to be replaced, the system evacuated and hope the expansion valve or maybe the capillary tube, not sure which you have, is not plugged and needs to be replaced.

RE: 1989 Ford 460 E 350 not running, need help

At one time I also had a 1989 Ford E350 with 460 engine and FI. I also had the very same identical symptoms and the problem was the two(yes two) oxygen sensors had failed and the catalytic converter was glowing red while running hard and it was plugged up. All of this heat caused the AC high side hose to pop loose and the propane tank pressure relief valve to periodically let loose with a long violent whoosh! Along with not having much power for the engine, I was getting 4 1/2 mpg. Oh, also, the fastest the vehicle could go was 45 mph.

RE: AC Quits Blowing Cold after a few minutes

What are the pressures both low and high while it is cooling and what are they when they start going up and quits cooling? I'll venture a guess and say that the unit was low on gas and someone added some or too much and also did not do it properly and introduced some air into the system. Air in the system will cause what you're reporting. Also I don't think a dirty evaporator( someone called it a condenser) will cause this problem. What gas does your ac system use? Are you refilling with the sam? Maybe R134A? I doubt that the clutch is the problem.

RE: "Boondockers Welcome"

Thanks everyone for your input. I have now joined Boondocks Welcome and am also a member of Harvest Host.

"Boondockers Welcome"

Anyone familiar with this company that appears to be affiliated with "Harvest Host". Wondering if anyone have experience with this outfit and what they thought? Membership fee is $50/year and going up. There's also a certain amount of pressure/requirement for one to become a host to join.

RE: Fuel costs for upcoming trip...

According to "Market Watch" diesel prices are expected to rise 25-35% in the coming weeks. Hold on tight!

RE: Campground smoke in your rv

Would a desktop electronic air purifier do any good? I know it kills bacteria but wonder if it has any effect on smoke particles which are unhealthy to breathe.

Campground smoke in your rv

What do you do when you're parked for the day and as evening comes, your neighbors close by starts a camp fire that emits smoke that fills your rv. You're all hooked up and paid so what do you do? Just close all your windows, which doesn't do much good, and tough it out? As in don't breathe.

RE: No gas to cook top

enahs: I purchased a "Gas Pressure Test Kit" made by Yellow Jacket, part #78060,0-35"W.C. It came with all the fittings I needed. Don't remember the price but I'm thinking it was $55? It has paid for itself many times over.Good luck.

RE: No gas to cook top

A few years ago I was on a trip up at an elevation of about 5,000'+ when my Dometic 3 way r efrigerator would not provide much, if any, cooling on propane and produced a low burner flame. Contacted a mobile rv repair guy who checked the problem out and said the propane gas regulator needed to be adjusted to a higher level. He reset the pressure regulator to I think 15psi. The refrigerator worked great after that. I was told to reset the regulator to 11.5 psi once I returned to a lower elevation where I lived at about sea level. Did that after I got home and everything worked fine. By the way, I did ask other rv hers if they had any issues and they said they didn't so I guess I was the only one with that issue. Also, my other propane fired appliances worked fine before and after the adjustment of the regulator.

RE: Propane Regulator Issues

Unattract yourself to the cheap ones! Get a Marshall branded one and be done with it. You're probably getting oil into the regulator from the propane. After installing the new regulator, check to see you're getting 11.5 inches of water pressure.

RE: replacement gas pilot line and thermocouple

That yellow goop you see on the gas line is a gas line thread sealant like a product called Rector seal. Becomes flexible when warmed up. I would try a six point flare nut wrench and a hammer to strike the end of the wrench on both nuts that you are trying to loosen. A little bit of heat would probably help loosen the larger gas line nut but I wouldn't overdo it.

RE: House Toilet Cleaners Ok for Rv Toilets.

I had a 1986 rv awhile back which had a plastic(non porcelain) toilet bowl that developed discoloration of the bowl after I put a series of chemicals in it like bleach and toilet bowl cleaners. Never could remove the discoloration even with scrubbing.

RE: Wind noise question

I chased a similar noise in my brand new rv for about 2 1/2 years. It would come and go randomly and kind of sounded like someone blowing over an empty soda bottle and some times like a high pitched sorta squeal. Turns out it was coming from my galley sink drain. This would happen if the p trap would somehow get emptied and the air blowing across the vent in the roof while I was traveling at about 55-60mph. Solution? always keep the sink drain plug screwed down tight.

RE: Intermittent brake failure

If my life depended on it, which it does, I would change the brake fluid AND the master cylinder and take a long hard look at all the hoses or just go ahead and change those also. Why wait for the situation to appear every so often try to diagnose a life threatening problem?

Thanks everyone for their input. The solution to put in a kill switch will be done as soon as I get home from my next trip.

Dometic RML8555 won't turn off

I have a Dometic RML8555 refrigerator that works okay but doesn't want to shut off when the on/off button is pressed for 3+seconds. Occasionally it may work okay and shut off after a random number of times that I press the button. Dometic says it's the "upper board" which sells for $743+ dollars. I'm of course skeptical and shocked at the diagnosis and price. Anybody have any insight to this problem that might help? I'm thinking that the on/off button must trigger some sort of relay somewhere external to this upper board so that I could access it and replace it. Maybe there's something in or on the board that I could replace?

RE: Suburban 10 Gallon Hot water heater

Do what bob213 suggested but first take a hacksaw or something similar and make two cuts in a X pattern across and perpendicular to the threads. Make the cuts maybe a half inch deep or so. This should work like a die. Go slow and reverse the threading periodically and clean the threads of the loose metal.
