RE: Towing a Honda CRV one time - NC to Maine

RE: Typical price for Class A tire mounting and balance

I paid $2500 for mount, balance, new valve stems and out the door for 22.5 Hankooks on my DP.....Local mount and balance for tires I bought from discount tire direct for my F-350 was $15.00 per tire mount balance and new valve stem.

RE: GPS tracker for trailers?

Many a race car trailer has been found using one of those air tag things. Don't make it complicated, and make sure it is insured.

RE: Recommended tools for a newbie

All of the above + a gen fuel filter and a motor belt. Add to that a good emergency road service and a large limit credit card. Cash will also work!

RE: Tree Pruning

I got a battery powered one from Lowes a while back and it’s the best for trimming small limbs. But l also have a Steil. Big one for larger jobs

RE: Used to be informative

I am here and never will be on face book if I can help it. But here as on other sites the participation is dwindling.

RE: Pigeon Forge to North Carolina

I doubt that, that route past Bush is pretty straight and level. At least it was last fall. Someone should have mentioned not to use GOOGLE out of Pigeon Forge, I made that mistake once long ago.

RE: Pigeon Forge to North Carolina

And semis don't travel through the park + it will take twice as long to get to Hendersonville going over the top dodging tourists, bikers, and hikers. Stay on the big roads, less white knuckles

RE: 1996 Monaco Dynasty CGVWR

I'll look in my original owners manual for you tomorrow. I sometimes tow a pretty large, 32ft 3 axle, enclosed trailer thats heavy with a heavy car in it + a Smart car. Don't know what it weighs but its heavy. I got a big motor!!!!

RE: Pigeon Forge to North Carolina

411/35through Chestnut Hill to I-40 then pick up I-26 below Asheville. We stayed below Hendersonville last year. We have also made several trips to Pigeon Forge and several through the park to Cherokee but always in the toad. I wouldn't even think of it with my DP or a large trailer and I have driven in some mountains. On 40 I just set my cruise control and ride other than down Black Mountain. There slow down and be safe.

RE: My Hitch Won't Let Go Of My Ball

I have a hitch, part that attaches to the truck, that is bent forward just a little and it causes the same problem. If I use it and it decides to stick I have a pry bar to get it loose.

RE: Fresh water tank location in 1999 Windsor class A motorhome

There is no way to fill the fresh water tank on my Monaco Windsor other than hook a hose to the fill valve location in the wet bay. Also no door with a lock etc. Glad to see you back in here Dennis--was wondering about you.

RE: Nashville GSMNP

Not enough traffic between you and I 40 to worry about---get on 40 and roll on. To me 321 is the scenic way as from Pigeon Forge up to 40 at this time of year isn't crowded. We also go there often

RE: Fresh water tank location in 1999 Windsor class A motorhome

So far you have got no information as to your question. I have a Monaco Windsor if thats the Windsor you are referring to and the fresh tank is behind the area where the dump valves are for the grey and black tanks. The bottom of this unit is completely sealed so you can't see by looking under it from underneath. The motor is under the bed!

RE: 83 and have hung up the keys

So I run my mouth and get a head cold as soon as I got down here to Myrtle. But so far so good. Went to a old car museum and the man at the door was from where I was born and the owner lives where I live now. 1000 mi apart. Life is still good.

RE: How big a toad?

As stated difference of opinion. I bought the dolly for $700 20+ years ago. Bought tires for it twice (I carry a spare tire but have never used it) We travel extensively and I only remember one time having to unhook the dolly. At home I store it in the alarmed garage, 52X40 garage, along with the DP. Not much trouble with thieves out here in the country. I am 82 years old and can move that dolly around with 1 hand, drop it on the ball, plug in the lights, and its ready to go. So since I never unhook it, except at home, all I have to do is unhook 1 pin roll the car (any front wheel drive car I have at the moment) on the dolly, tighten down 2 straps, put the pin back in and down the road I go. Me and that Road Master just don't get along I guess and I was using tow bars 60 years ago when you, some times, just clamped them on your front bumper. Remember those? Anyway that tow bar that came with this car is out there in the back of my pick up hoping to find a loving new home..Anyway, just having some fun here. Everyone be safe and have fun on your travels

RE: How big a toad?

Live music you ask why I use a dolly, I can load a dolly in 5 min and it takes 1/2 hour + to hook up that Roadmaster mess. It came with the car when I bought it is why I have it. + that wheel wobble business when making short slow turns. No thanks. I can tow different cars etc so I am not stuck using 1 car every time. I don't know what they cost now but when I bought mine it was $700. Tow Master, Fayetteville, NC. Anyone want to buy my Road Master less the plate for the car?

RE: 83 and have hung up the keys

I'll be 82 in a week. Leaving for Myrtle Beach Sunday and so far so good. I even still drive my drag racing car. My Monaco has served me well for 22 years and is still as good as new with 98,000+ miles on it. It is stored at home so we have never had to deal with the storage issue. I am sure thats a hassle. We are really blessed. Many years ago I got rid of a large boat the same way. It got damaged in a hurricane and as I was checking the damage in dry dock someone offered to buy it. Good by boat and hello Monaco. I am sure you have many memories and it will be an adjustment not having the RV. Good luck on your next adventure.
