I never thought of it before

Recently I was talking to a retired long-haul driver for Wal-Mart. He said that “Back in the day” their trailers were filled with products from one or two sources. They would then go from store to store distributing the items.
Now days the truckers just go to the distribution centers and load up for one store. then go back and re-load.
Does that mean that all those trucks, including Wal-Mart, on the hiways; that 50% are empty?

What Would Happen If?

I sat down at my desk this morning to go through the residential mail. First envelope was from Physicians Life Insurance Company, then some kind of envelope to be returned to a Benefit Processing Dept. It hasn’t arrived yet but I’m expecting my monthly letter from Globe Life Insurance Company answering all the questions I didn’t ask and have no desire of joining.
All of these return envelopes have in the right top corner a sign that says “No postage necessary if mailed in the United States”
WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF everyone who gets these things mails them back … empty.
The only negative I can see is USPS would have a measurable increase in volume, but would these companies reconsider these solicitations to decrease their overhead?

RE: IT'S A GAS!

Let us know how many blue canisters it uses for 2 steaks,
Haven't upgraded to steaks yet, but I did put in 1 cup of room temp water. Took 60 seconds to a hard boil.

RE: IT'S A GAS!

What reason to hook propane up to that kind of stove?
just as a back-up. I carry the propane cans for a lantern and / or a heater. I think I'm going down to Academy Outdoors store. They had the small butane cans (100 gms) for $4.99 and the next size up for $5.99.

IT'S A GAS!

This site is recreational, so I have a camping question.
Santa has been programed to bring me a Bluu Camping Stove, A Chinese knock-off of the JetBoil System, and far less $.
The question is the stove system is made for those iso-butane canisters. I know I can get an adapter that allows those disposable propane cans.
I think propane burns cooler, but is under higher pressure to compensate. If I add the adapter will the higher pressure damage a butane system?

RE: Can I rent your RV?

Absolutely NO!
If she is asking then she doesn’t understand the situation, or the potential for problems.
And during the COVID era I personally know everyone sleeping in my bed.

RE: Looking for info on Insurance

In RV’ing the name of the game is TRAVEL!
Now that the Canadian border is opening up just remember the Canadian Gov’t has higher insurance coverage requirements. Make sure your US Insurance company will give you a “Canada Non-Resident Inter-Province Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance Card”. It says that you US carrier will cover the increased limits, and is good for one year. Should be little or no charge, anyway Markel just dropped mine in the mail.
My RV is a motorcycle pulling a camping trailer. The deer didn’t see me in time so he just TRIED to jump over me. No I didn’t go down.
According to RCMP ‘We have so many deer accidents up here (Alberta; Trans-Canada 3) we don’t even make out a report unless there’s human injury.

SEMI cameras

Last week I braved the wilds and drug my RAH camper through the hiways of Atlanta, a situation reminiscent of driving through St. Louis and worse than the Los Angeles system. But away I went.
Now we have all heard the excuse “I just didn’t see him, Officer”. The GoldWing is big enough, but I was worried no one would see the trailer and do a quick lane change into it. It sits only about 36 inches high so that some Van/Pick-up/Semi wouldn’t see it. Didn’t happen.
What did happen was in the stop & go traffic of the Interstate merges a Semi stopped leaving about 6 inches between his bumper and my trailer. There is no way he could see over his hood at ‘lil ol me’.
The question is; Are some truckers putting those RV back-up cameras on their front bumpers?
