RE: Memory leak with Firefox?

I really wanted to continue using Firefox but memory usage was out of site. What I did. click on tools / options / scroll down to performance uncheck hardware acceleration / change processor limit to 2. cut my memory usage from over 1GB to 400/500 MB no noticeable changes in performance that I could tell. Let me know if this helps since I discovered this by trial and error would like to know if others have the same results.

RE: FORD 460 Overheating Mystery

AS I posted I went through the same problem never did get a 100% fix but improved to usable 220. Since non of my previous suggestions helped my last great guess is a restricted exhaust.

RE: Not getting 115v

Notice he neutral buss bar is isolated from the frame. When you replace the neutral buss bar be sure the new one is isolated from the frame as the original.

RE: FORD 460 Overheating Mystery

UPDATE: The shop has had the rig for 6 weeks or so. I've been back 2x to test drive it after they said they had it fixed. Here's what they did. Replaced the radiator hoses, replaced the clutch fan, flushed the block and radiator, replaced the thermostat (for the 3rd time in 6 months). At this point, I drive the rig for 15 minutes down the highway at 65mph. With the overdrive off (to simulate engine rpms while towing) it runs at 220-230 degrees for 12-14 minutes...then in the next 2 minute period, the temp guage clicks ..jumping 10 degrees at a 2 minutes, I'm at 255 degrees. When I turn the overdrive on again, it cools to 245 or so. Everything I can think of has been checked on the motor...could this be the transmission? The rig sat for a long time before we bought cold temperatures. Could this have something to do with it? I'm reaching out to a transmission shop next. ugh. I did not see where the sending unit has been replaced or tested with another gauge and sending unit. I had a car with temp problems and it was corrosion at the sending unit causing a bad ground and bad reading.

RE: Internet

I use a GL 750s works great less expensive is the GL 300 or 150 FOR $25. Connect as a repeater and use the Ethernet port you can turn off WIFI.

RE: FORD 460 Overheating Mystery

Well good luck I had the same problem. Ran hot all the time really ran hot pulling my boat. Did all the things you have done with little to no help. After all that I added a small transmission cooler in front of radiator and that helped but didn't fix the problem, added one inch of space between the radiator and the AC condenser (they were almost touching) that helped a lot finally added (I think it was called) Water Wetter to the radiator and that dropped the temp about 10 degrees. Still ran around 210/215 on a hot day but I could live with that.

RE: 2000 Bounder Electrical Problem

Well you have done all the normal things time to consider where is 12vDC mandatory to keep the engine running? Majority of electrical problems turn out th be a bad ground. Time to start jerking on wires and thumping fuses with the engine running. Solenoids Fuel pump Distributor Computer ??? Good luck and post back what you find.

RE: Shark bites for plumbing

The key to Shark Bites is to use a cutting tool to make darn sure the cut is prefect with no angle then listen for two (2) clicks when you push them together. I have never had one leak but know of occasions when people say they always leak.

RE: Shark bites for plumbing

Yep many times even used a shark bite shut off valve on the water line when installing a new toilet.

RE: Continuous generator usage. How long?

Loaned my 3600W generator to friends who had a major power outage during an ice storm. Ran on their covered front porch 24/7 except to fuel and check oil for 14 days. I suspect as long as you keep good oil in it it would run just fine for months on end at 7KW it will not be loaded and running hard. They are loud and if any distance to keep noise down be sure and run large enough power line. It will not be cheap figure 1 to 2 gal per hour depending on load.

RE: What manufacturers will this recession bring down?

Who will fail is strictly based on the length of time it takes to get people back to work many are already hurting and this won't end in the next week or so. The stimulus will help short term but the government can't just print money without serious consequences in the long term. The big picture is what will happen world wide.
