RE: 4 maybe 5 weeks....

I wish we could come north to visit! Like your Penticton/Kamloops area. Enjoy the Icefields Highway and Jasper! I too love Banff and Jasper after the summer crush. Everything is closed..only it's all open. We'll go west forst, then come back thru Kamloops to Wells Grey...if you haven't been? Maybe put it on your list. Depending in COVID closures, we will head down to Nakusp and and couple other spots for hot springs. Gary

4 maybe 5 weeks....

Almost time...we are going to take off for a month long BC wander come Sept 15th. Probably drift thru highway 20 to Bella Coola, come back same way and Wells Grey Park, find some wild hot springs, watch trains in the Fraser Canyon. Spend a few days in Vancouver. Can't say I ani't ready. Gary Haupt

RE: Border closure extended..again

I see this story is in the politics section. Thats about right. Was not intended to be a political post...it was intended to keep travelers informed. You may not be wanting to head north thru or to, Canada, but many do. Gary Haupt...O.P.

RE: Bullseye dent in fiberglass rv

Those that suggest a sticker...anyone that has bought RV's, especially a used one, knows this, about that...a sticker is hiding something. Gary

Take a look at this product. I have a tube for a repair that I have yet to do. Called Magic Easy..from Australia..I bought mine in eastern Canada. The address I have included is your US connection. https://www.ab-marine.com/magicezy/ Gary Haupt Amazon $24.99 ships free. Yes..the problem with Amazon is that the seller doesn't always have the full color catalogue. Was the case with me, anyway. Gary

You may want to check your link. It's not about closing the border. Thank you. Gary

RE: Slide failures?

Had to replace the Happy Jack tracks on my Okanagan 4 times so far, they just used too light of metal on the rails. Twice on warranty and twice on my dime. Next time I’m going to manufacture something myself. It’s a real pain in the butt to pull the slide out to get at the mechanism. The drive gear tears out the metal between the holes on the track, Happy jack wanted over $700.00 for one track last time so I just welded it up and ground it out work. Thanks for the response. Do you figure the slide failure was due to off highway travel? Gary

Slide failures?

I would presume that this is not a new question..but I am too tired to go searching about. Slides in campers. Are they affected by backroad travel? The flexing and so on. Do they fail as a result of rough travel, is the question. Thanks a bunch..asking for a bud... Gary Haupt

RE: Travel into Canada

How? Not considering g the border closure which trumps the gun question currently.... I wrapped up my .357, removed the exhaust off one of my snow machines, stuffed it under the engine plate and reinstalled. All of which was under a bunch of moving boxes and items in a trailer. RCMP would have had to literally unload part of the trailer and then disassemble part of the sled to find it. And I have a good poker face. Not that I recommend it, but you asked how. For the nay sayers, I was traveling though BC with a lot of valuable motorized toys, moving to AK, and theft of US snow machines and wheelers was very high then. So it felt justified at the time. I am sorry but I need to ask...do you feel it is okay for a non-US resident to hide or otherwise arrange to smuggle goods into the US? Gary Haupt

Wonder what's with the two spine boards? Those are MaxTrax recovery boards for when you're stuck in sand. You may have been had.... Gary

RE: Covid has not stopped the Off Road Motorhomes

If any of you N.A. RV'rs are looking at these and thinking..'I need one of them'....and then go looking at prices...a bit of shell shock. There is an alternative. If you Google 4x4 conversion shops..or something like that, you will find there are several that are well known and do excellent work. If you are looking? Ask them if they will do the work on an older c. Rather than buying new, you buy (or use the one you have) the one with the floor plan that works for you and have the conversion done. HUGE dollar savings. There is a shop in Kamloops BC, Sportsman Light Truck,..they did mine. Probably 25,000 -30,000 now..on the bright side, remember that the CDN-US dollar is a major win. https://i.imgur.com/ZRFiRD1.jpg]https://i.imgur.com/ZRFiRD1.jpg Gary Haupt

RE: More water needed....

Looks like a good solution, and a good bumper. Just check it to make sure it was installed by someone who knew what they were doing! The bumper was properly installed along with the 12,000lb winch. Gary
