RE: New Ride

Very nice truck, the Ford dealers near me have zero trucks on the lot.

RE: LT Tires

Blowout? NO. BUT, weeks ago, a 17 year old kid noticed a huge bubble on the inner part of a rear tire on my truck while visiting Arizona, averting a for sure blow out. Don't know why he would be looking there, other tan he works for a tire shop near Prescott. Had that tire blew out while driving through a snow storm a few days later, who knows what might have happened. Mind you, these tires have a date stamp of 0319.....only three years old.
That was a good thing he noticed that, and did you find out if the tire bubbled was caused by a road hazard, or defective.

RE: Cooper AT3 XLT

I have 15k on my 285-60-20 Cooper AT3 XLT’s and they still look new, ride great, and pretty quiet.
They are load range E 3620# each at 80 psi

RE: Joined the B&W Hitch Club

Yep, hard to beat the old 8' bed.
My driveway grade goes down hill from the street and thats what got it.

RE: Joined the B&W Hitch Club

I wish that B&W would have designed the slider with two choices of rear sliding settings instead of just 12".
The first time I used mine it ate up the rubber top of my factory tailgate, but I solved that with a 5th wheel tailgate.

RE: New Outside Stairs

I love my Solid Step especially the 13" top step that is like a landing when stepping down and rock solid.
It takes maybe 10 seconds to sweep them before closing up.

RE: Mystery Battery Draw While Parked UPDATE

Check the body of the alternator for voltage, or remove the hot wire to it.
I had one that was bleeding voltage from the connecter post to the body.

RE: Broke down on the road, what's your insurance experience?

We had Good Sam ERS, and broke down in Tupelo MS in 2017, It took 2 hours in 100 degree heat on the side of the interstate for them to get someone there.
Happy ending, after being towed to a rv park and truck to a dealer, we toured Elvis's birth house, and wife said we are getting a new truck.

RE: Ram 2500/Cummins

Drive axle 5860#, GVWR is 6500#. Tires are 285-60-20 3690#
I know I'm good, but was just saying that a DRW tows so much better.

RE: Ram 2500/Cummins

The pin weight on my 2018 Ram 2500 Cummins is 2320# and if it were much more I would go to a 3500 DRW and be done.

RE: New Truck question(s)

1/2 ton.3/4 ton,1 ton, will be the same driveline wise.
Only difference being the differential ratios. Most often the engine is even detuned on 3/4 and above!
The 1/2 ton does not have the same drivetrain, and the diesels are only detuned in the cab and chassis models.
