RE: Rear-Living TTs: Likes, dislikes, features, models...

We went from an Ultra light bunkhouse model(2007 Surveyor SV291) to the 2014 Prime Time Avenger 27RLS Touring Edition. While the length of the new trailer is shorter, going from an 18 inch deep slide to a a 42 inch deep one made all the difference in space. Just being able to move around with more than 2 people inside is something you will appreciate.I now have much more counter space as well. And all the window in the living area are larger than in a Bunk house model. We didn't really give up any sleeping space because of the "Max-U" shaped dinette makes into a 50 x 84 bed. https://i.imgur.com/gkJYa9Tl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/z3ucdB5l.jpg

RE: New recliner install.

We just returned from a 5 day camping trip and the new loveseat worked out very well. I don't think I will have to screw it down to the floor of the slide, it didn't move at all during the 75 miles to or from the campground. The operation was very smooth. The extra weight difference from the old loveseat did seem to effect way the trailer handled on the road. There was more sway when behind big rigs than we have ever had, and I could feel it when we were passed by the truckers. I may need to "Tweak" the Equal-i-zer.

RE: New recliner install.

How comfortable are thoseThomas Payne recliners and do they recline while that close to the wall? We are shopping and so far nothing we have seen that is really comfy will work in our confined space! How about Rec Pro ?? Your new set up looks very nice! We will find out how comfortable it is this weekend, heading out today for a long weekend trip and will use the loveseat for the first time. It's really not that close to the wall. It's one inch from the window shade cornice and three inches from the wall. It goes into the fully reclined position(which we don't plan to use)with room to spare. I have the two sections "zip-tied" together because I did not screw it into the floor of the slide out. But if I need to,I will.

New recliner install.

The new to us Craigslist recliner was installed last weekend. The control box came it Wednesday and I installed that today. It works perfect and for less that $150.we are very happy with it. And we think it looks pretty good in the "V-ger". https://i.imgur.com/lAGIG8ul.jpg https://i.imgur.com/GHtzLeml.jpg

RE: power for new reclining loveseat

Just got off the phone with Lippert customer service. They quoted me a price of $46.95 dollars with a 20% discount making the circuit board control box for the loveseat cost me $37.56 plus tax and shipping. Total price of $49.27. So We have a total cost of $149.27 for a $900.00 Thomas Payne power reclining loveseat. Sometimes Craigslist deals are real.

RE: Replacing fake leather sofa sleeper

Our sleeper sofa(loveseat)was also cracking and peeling very bad,so much so that I had covered it with a throw most of last year. I also looked into recovering it but the cost was more than I could justify considering how cheaply the thing was built. While surfing Craigslist last week I found an RV power loveseat, less than a year old in need of a new circuit board. The seller was giver a new set under warranty. and he only wanted 100.00 for the old one. He told me Lippert had a 6 week wait on the circuit board and he traveled for work,so they just replaced the whole thing. I have an email in to Lippert to order the board(less than 50 bucks!) https://i.imgur.com/n2IG7KBl.jpg A $900.00 unit for $150.00 plus change.

RE: Sunnybrook Edgewater 2009 Roof

It's always best to err on the side of caution. But if you can tell where the rafters are located that will also give you extra support. None of my trailers have had ladders and I've been on all the roofs, even our old Ultra Lite. I weigh 210 pounds. I always step on rafters and walk as close to the edge as I safely can.

RE: power for new reclining loveseat

I got the loveseat, The seller told me that Lippert Components sent him a complete new loveseat instead of having him wait six weeks for a back ordered control box since his units were still under warranty. That's a pretty sweet way to resolve a product failure. I'll just have to wait the six weeks, but in the mean time. we will still get to enjoy a much nicer loveseat than the one that came in our trailer. https://i.imgur.com/ttGmvWVl.jpg What we had, cushions and back started peeling very bad. https://i.imgur.com/jw1qSuvl.jpg $100.00 on Craigslist, now if the weather holds out for us to put it in the trailer.

RE: power for new reclining loveseat

Thanks for all the info. For what he is selling the loveseat for, and the cost of new control boxes, I can order two new ones with a 110 adapter, and just plug it into the outlet next to the slide. Then I just have to put a note next to the slide switch to remind us to unplug it and stow the cord out of the way.

power for new reclining loveseat

Hey everyone, Happy camping 2019. We have the chance to pickup a 10 month old Thomas Payne power reclining loveseat for 1/4 of the retail on a new one. My problem is that our slide out doesn't have power to it other than the overhead lights. The seller has said that the loveseat is 12 volt so I was thinking I could run a line from the light over the loveseat, hiding the wire behind the trim. We never use that overhead light. Do you think that is a large enough gauge wire to power the loveseat?

RE: Sorry to leave

First off, Thank you for your service to our country. I'm glad you had no serious lasting affects from the stroke and you are doing well. As mentioned earlier, I hope you stick around and offer your experience to the newbies that are still discovering the RV world. I know that over the last 12 years I have learned so much from you guys and I have shared a lot of what I've learned with friends and strangers we've met at the campgrounds. Best of luck for the next chapter.

RE: First camp out of the new year

First, I hope your remaining radiation treatments go smoothly and will be over before you know it. Best wishes for a rapid recovery from treatment and great health! Second, may I ask what campground you were at? Looks wonderful and thank you for the pictures. You have given us the itch........ ?? We were at Gunter Hill C.O.E. Camp Ground, just 15 minuets outside the Montgomery city limits and 25 minuets from our house. It's an easy drive to both work and the cancer center if needed. We go there often for weekend getaways.

First camp out of the new year

We finally made time to get away this past weekend. We even took a chance with the weather not being as bad as predicted, and we are so glad we did. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer past Dec. 27th and have been undergoing radiation treatments for the last four weeks with six weeks to go. We caught it early, and so far every thing is going well and results look good. Anyway, we had highs in the 80's most of the weekend with brief showers. We were on one of our favorite camp site since we can't go far from my treatment center. I really hated for the weekend to end https://i.imgur.com/3uQX5GEl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/idzM0vdl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/qCeOcRrl.jpg

RE: Starcraft Launch Outfitter?

Starcraft was the sister company of Jayco for many years. Now that Thor Industries owns Jayco I would guess it now owns Starcraft as well. At one time both seemed to have a very good reputation for quality products, maybe they still do. It's been about 5 years or so since the buyout. Check out the one you like. Look it over with your eyes, not your heart.
