RE: Harbour Freight Jack stand recall.

Just pulling a leg, there's more crazy misspelled words out there than you can shake a stick at. :B Yep. I'm far from perfect but, if I had a dollar for every misspelled or misused word I see I would be driving a new Prevost. :)

RE: One of those things about traveling

We've noticed that too. Now this is likely just coincidence but many times, it's your computer/phone spying on you. We don't use the voice activation features on our phones but there are times we are in the truck talking and the phone sitting in the cup holder will suddenly ask us to repeat what we said. :h Your computer/phone spying on you causes floods? :h

RE: Harbour Freight Jack stand recall.

I like the fancy spelling in the title!! That could be their premium line of tools. Harbour Freight. (rolls down window) Pardon me.....do you have any harbour freight? Sorry that I used the proper spelling of the word harbour. Is there a proper spelling? I thought it was more of an American vs. different country spelling. And I'm sure they use Harbor in their legal paperwork, so wouldn't that make it their proper and correct spelling :@

Control is a state of mind. So, if you don't mind, I'll take control.

RE: Shark bites for plumbing

I didn't use any SharkBites in my RV (yet). I would not hesitate to use them, I've had them on my home heating system for 15 years with no problems.

RE: Service temporarily unavailable?

Which portal are you using to get on the forum? I use forums.trailerlife.com and don't have any problems. Or very few.

RE: Generator for Rving, any recommendation please?

Many RVers carry generators. Honda and Yamaha are generally considered to be the best when it comes to quiet and quality. They're also probably the most expensive. Champion Generators have good reviews and a decent support/parts system. Depending on your needs, have you considered a larger battery bank and solar system? It doesn't get quieter than solar. Before you buy any generator, check for parts availability.

RE: Where do you store your Shoes, Boots, Sandals and Slippers

If you carry fewer shoes, you'll have more room for beer. :)

RE: 1997 Class C Winnebago, 47,000 miles too old to buy?

If you are not familiar with RV's hire a mobile RV Tech and a qualified mechanic to do a prepurchase inspection. Thx for the answer. Where / how do you find a RV tech? I am in Los Angeles Thx Contact a few RV campgrounds in your area. Ask it they can recommend a Tech/Mechanic. They often have business cards and ads on their public board. Ask any friends who have RV's if they know of a good tech. Do an online search. Try checking for a tech on RV Service Reviews.

RE: rubber roof sealants

I'm assuming you're talking about roof coating and not caulking? For caulking, Dicor self leveling is a good choice. For coating, HENG'S Rubber Roof Coating is what I use. It goes on easily like paint, it's cost is lower and it needs no primer. It looks good and holds up well. I put two coats on our 96 Southwind, 2 1/2 gallons for 30' of roof. I'll use Heng's again.

RE: 1997 Class C Winnebago, 47,000 miles too old to buy?

No, there is no rule of thumb. Many of us have older RV's. CONDITION, is the important factor. If you are not familiar with RV's hire a mobile RV Tech and a qualified mechanic to do a prepurchase inspection. Leaks are a killer of any RV. And, if you don't know, RV tires age out before they wear out. Factor in the cost of a set of tires when making an offer. The roof condition is another consideration. It may need coated or replaced. Do not give the seller, dealer or private, any money or sign anything until you are satisfied with the condition of the unit. You're doing it right by asking questions before you make a purchase. Don't hesitate to ask lots of questions on the forum, someone will have the answer. Use your search as a learning experience

It's interesting and fuel efficient. But, it's not my kind of RVing. :)
