RE: EU2000i starts, then imediately quits..

Riddle me this... How come I continue to see that starter fluid has no effect? This seems very odd to me.

Attempting to move fuel tank above so as to gravity feed the carb. Bypassing gas on/off, fuel pump, hoses.

Ok, new spark plug and it’s immediately trying to fire again.

RE: EU2000i starts, then imediately quits..

I disconnected the on off kill wire. Looked for the oil sensor kill wire.. looks like it might be in deep. Take off the red covers, then there are another set of black covers around the motor. I think its in there? Is there another connector I should look for? Or wire?

RE: EU2000i starts, then imediately quits..

Ok, I’m on my way to pick up a new plug. The one in there is mostly unused, but at leat a year old. NGK CR5HSB. Looks wet from pulling cord. Oil looked a bit low so I topped it up to almost pouring out. Did nothing. Now, the unit seems to have degraded. In the beginning, it was firing. Now nothing. Question. I set the valves. Spec was 0.15mm in and 0.20mm out. Could I have set them wrong? Maybe I reverse them?

Ooh thats good stuff. I will try those things and report back. If I need a plug, I will probably need to go to the next town over.

It’s pretty new, but its been in the unit about a year. Hardly used i think. The ignition coil module is new.

EU2000i starts, then imediately quits..

Gas cap is unscrewed. Fuel pump puts fuel into the bowl. ?Starting fluid seems to have no effect. New and clean carb. Unit had not been started in a couple years. I found a bit of old gas in the tank beforehand. I poured a small amout of new gas in, swished around and emptied. Did this 2-3 times. Then before first start attempt, I unscrewed fuel bowl screw and pulled cord til some of the fuel spilled out in attempt to get to fresh gas. Then start attempts began. I pulled carb again, but jets were still clear.

I have one in mind, but I’m just gonna wait and see. As our civilization crumbles in front of our very eyes, I bet there are a number of good candidates.

RE: Suddenly, rangetop burners not getting propane..

The main regulator is 3-4 years old. It switches between the two 30lb tanks.

RE: Suddenly, rangetop burners not getting propane..

There is propane coming in. The burners are weak. The oven burner runs but wife says it was stronger. Refrigerator running (but isnt that like a very small flame?) Hot water heater makes hot water

RE: Suddenly, rangetop burners not getting propane..

I think it’s looking pretty stong that its the 10” pressure regulator. I’m going to buy one and try it.

RE: Suddenly, rangetop burners not getting propane..

I seem to remember when my main outside regulator failed... I think it was the furnace that was the tip off. It wasn't getting enough propane? The light users were all happy if I recall. Is it the heavy users that first show problems when the regulator fails?

RE: Suddenly, rangetop burners not getting propane..

Thanks for the info.. I am not there but I had the wife text me pics. So it appears as if there is a pressure regulator present. If you lift the range top, you can see the copper propane line entering. It goes first to the regulator, then the regulator feeds a LP service bar/pipe that includes all of the knobs for the range and the oven. I will be trying to light the oven when I get home. I didn't think to try this before. We have been having troubles keeping the oven lit lately......... I was thinking the oven problem was the pilot heat sensor getting a blanket of carbon on it, so I have been wire brushing it before the oven is used. Maybe its the regulator..

Suddenly, rangetop burners not getting propane..

I can light them, but they are weak and will burn out. -propane fridge happy -bled tank thinking overfill -all three burners same problem -tried the spare 20lb tank (known good, was used previous to this prob) -hot water heater ok, strong It seems to be pointing to the range, or the feed to the range?

RE: Rebuilding my eu2000i... (never did this before)

Since i have it apart, should i just buy a cylinder and new valves? When you buy them new, are the mating surfaces all perfect? Do the valve guides come with cylinder? If so, i can make the unit like new, without needing to visit the machine shop which is 3 hours drive from my current location.
