RE: Old propane tanks on new RVs

I bought a brand new 2017 Coleman 262BH in 2017. Went to get my propane tanks filled today and found out they expired in 2013, 4 years before I bought my 2017 model camper new off the lot. They would not fill them. The test date was 2003 (expires 2013). Feeling kinda cheated. They told me it would cost $120.00 to get new, filled bottles. I would be upset! I would call the dealer and complain, if I we're going camping soon, I would do the propane exchange and still ride the dealer.

RE: Northern Michigan advice

If you've never been, definitely visit Mackinac island, you're so close. Sleeping Bear Dunes national park Lakeshore is great, but it's somewhat of a hike from your destination this year, everything from Frankfort to Empire to historic Glen Haven and Glen Arbor. Awesome beaches at Frankfort, Empire, Esch Rd, Peterson Rd, North Bar Lake etc. You have youngsters, the dune climb, floating down the Platte River to the mouth at Lake Michigan, the old blacksmith barn and historic general store in Glen Haven. Everything along the M119 from Harbor Springs to Wilderness Point. Night view of the Mackinac bridge from Mackinaw City or St. Ignace. The locks in the Soo. Munising. Pictured Rocks boat tour, shipwreck boat tour plus nice beaches and waterfalls. Wait a minute, I need a vacation!

RE: Bunk Seal, removing old residue

I feel your pain. I've tried many of your removal attempts. Ended up using a bronze wire wheel in a drill after a quick scrape on a goo gone soaked tape residue. My bunk end frame on the trailer is aluminum painted white, therefore the wire wheel also removed the paint, but the new seal mostly hid the bare aluminum where the wire wheel hit outside the seal channel. My RV is a 2006 KZ hybrid.

RE: Cleaning Canvas

I know rubbing alcohol cleans a vinyl coated exterior bunk end with great results. I only did this in small areas that I needed to patch due to mice chewing through the tent ends, so I cannot speak to the affect on the water proofing of the material, but the area's I cleaned looked like new and this is on 13 year old material that I haven't really cleaned before and it is vinyl, so I don't expect any adverse results. This was on white bunk end tops. It removed pine tree sap, bird droppings and whatever else. I'm considering soaking an orbital polishing tool with rubbing alcohol and cleaning the entire bunk end top ( yeah I have time for that).
