RE: Bathroom on the road?

Once our grand daughter figured out we had a potty in trailer when traveling, we had to make frequent stops that trip. Explained beforehand for the next trip that we were not stopping every 20 minutes... works well if there is safe place to pull off.

RE: Need 1 more inch of clearance

Our radio antenna caught on the lip of the raised door coming out once... had to reseal the base of the antenna and put a piece of vinyl tubing over antenna.. no more little ball on end to catch door.. The AC looks like it might hit but there are several inches of clearance...

RE: SHANK question

Perhaps you don't need one 6" longer (from 12" to 18"), maybe you could figure out how much longer you need, add a little bit, then drill a hole in shank so it sticks out far enough for tailgate to clear jack, but not to far.

RE: Where's the bypass for the water heater?

Our first trailer had 3 valves to bypass water heater. Our current trailer just has one valve. Dad had a trailer that didn't come with bypass, he had dealer install it when they winterized it for the first winter.

RE: We were shocked to learn our newly purchased TT

Our first trailer did not have electric (only gas), thought about getting the element that goes into the drain hole, but never did... current trailer has gas/electric and we use electric when we are camped with hookups. If both of us are getting a shower, we might turn gas part on, but otherwise let the electric keep it warm.

RE: Thoughts on the 'need' factor of a main line surge protector

Its on my wish list, in the mean time, I have a monitor (displays voltage and checks for miswired) that I use to check before plugging in. I then plug it into the outlet near the sink so I can easily see it so if voltage drops too low I can turn off AC. It is not automatic, but it is what I have until I can budget the EMS.

RE: Any problems with Goodyear Endurance tires?

We don't go out enough to justify LT tires on travel trailer, so we went with the Goodyear Endurance.. so far so good.
If I had more trips or higher mileage, I would step up to LTs, maybe even Michelin ribs I hear about..
