RE: Airbags.

I have an Adventure 89RB, ready to camp it's pushing 3800lbs. I think that is about the max for a SRW truck. I see lots with heavier campers, maybe they carry less stuff than I do or they've just never been to a scale so they are blissfully ignorant of how overloaded they are. I do have air bags, I run 30lbs in them. I also have upper stableloads so this is the point where the bags are taking some of the weight but not unloading the overloads.

RE: Question: too much camper - too little truck

I have a somewhat lighter camper (3500-3700) but almost the exact same truck (2020 F350 7.3gas with Tremor package). My setup works well and feels very controlled. my setup is very similar to the above: -Goodyear Duratrac tires with 4080lb rating (OEM) -Upper stable loads to bring upper overload into play sooner -Air bags, I only inflate them enough to take some of the weight without unloading the overloads. I use 30lbs. Make sure you plumb them to be independent of each other. -Big wig sway bar in middle setting I did make a mistake in that I added everyting at once over the winter, I wish I would have tried one thing at a time to find out what worked best. My gut feel that the most useful would be the sway bar and the stable loads, may have got by without the air bags.

RE: New wet dry bath concept

That's pretty neat, made the link a clicky below https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwj0kPPYjZfwAhUNAp0JHYxeACIQwqsBMAB6BAgdEAk&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DRMKVQmdYqUI&usg=AOvVaw2eJOerztXDG32G8gyOm9T8

RE: No rear overload spring on my new 2012 Ford F250?

250 only gets the upper overload if it has the camper package. You'll also find that you probably don't have the factory sway bar either. The whole truck weighs 500lbs less is complete nonsense, quit peddling that non-truth. Whatever they saved by going aluminum went back into the drivetrain. I've owned very similar trucks across both eras and they have almost identical payload.

RE: Fantastic fan or maxxair ?

I like my Maxxfan, 10 speeds, reversible, Remote control + Thermostatically controlled and built in 'protection hood' that lays down flat when not using it.

RE: Ford 6.2 gas vs 7.3 gas highway gas milage

I will be picking up a new 2021 Ford F-350 dually 4x4 in less than two weeks. It will have the 7.3 gas with 4.30 rear end. I will be putting an 2013 Eagle Cap 950 on it. I is too bad, and always the case, that aftermarket shocks/sway-bars are not available this early in the model year. I will update the forum as to how this truck performs. This truck will be replacing a 2013 RAM 3500 4x4 dually. There are no changes from 2020 to 2021 so should be easy to find aftermarket parts. I wouldn't expect that you'd need any mods for that camper. I also recently went to a 7.3 gas after owning diesels for ~12 years, mine's a single wheel with the Tremor package. Haven't had the camper on it yet. Don't really expect great gas mileage but not really a factor in my decision to go gas.

RE: Removable mount for CS backup cam?

You plug it in underneath, plugs are attached to the side plates of the receiver hitch, sort of by the spare tire.

RE: Removable mount for CS backup cam?

I have this kit, not sure why it's so expensive now but anyways... I mounted mine to the camper step, Ideally you want it to be mounted where it's at a similar height to the tailgate camera or I think it would look weird when it stitches the cameras together for the 360 view. Also the Fakra cable it comes with is way too long for a truck camper. You can buy shorter length cables on ebay for cheap. They are colour coded so you need the brown cable and I believe it's F to F. Disconnecting and re-connecting the cable is really no big deal, the other 3 cables you need to disconnect to remove the tailgate are definitely a bigger hassle. PS: Just want to make sure you're getting the correct camera. This kit works on truck with the 360 camera system not with trucks that just have the backup camera.

RE: Coffee maker off inverter and battery in a truck camper

I've been making coffee this way for a few years. I have a 1000w inverter and we have a Keurig B130 hotel model. It draws up to 60a when making a cup but it's only for about 45 seconds. We usually make 4 cups in the morning and it hardly touches the batteries.

RE: New F350 Tremor with a SB Camper

I'm sure Op is long gone but in case not I actually have a Tremor so thought maybe I could offer some real world info. -Payload sticker on my 2020 F350 with 7.3 gas engine and KR trim is 3647, You can get a higher payload with a lower trim model. -RAWR is slightly reduced at 6950 vs 7230 I believe for non-tremor. I suspect this is because of the slightly softer springs. -Tire rating is good at 4067 each -It actually doesn't have a 2" lift, that's Ford marketing it's actually 1/2" taller coil springs in the front and the other 1.5" is from the diameter of the tires -It is not available with camper package as that would include the rear sway bar which is detrimental to the off-road nature of the truck. The front sway bar is also a smaller diameter for more articulation. I actually do plan to carry my 89RB on this truck. It has a higher payload than my 2012 that carried it fine. I expect I'll be close to RAWR. I have air bags to accommodate for the softer springs. Trying to avoid adding the sway bar but may have to.
