I installed a disconnect switch at coach batteries. They hold charge for weeks.

RE: Need advice on accessing engine - 2005 Horizon 40AD

You could try small magnet to find screw heads. It worked for me once.

RE: Setting up a TOAD

The DIY route is definitely cheaper, more time consuming, requires some mechanical and electrical skill and tools that the average homeowner may not have. Check around in local area for shops that do car repairs. I think you should be able to find one that will do the job.

RE: 2011 Tiffin Phaeton no hydraulics....Help!!!

I had a 100 amp breaker trip on my hydraulic pump once. Obviously, I had no jacks or slide working. It took sometime to find it, but help from this forum got me there. Look at power cord starting at the hydraulic pump motor and trace it backwards to see if you can find the breaker if it exists on your coach. I do not know what the technical term is for the breaker but it does not look like standard breakers. Mine had short arm that rotated about 90 degrees and reset when I rotated back. It is a little smaller than a deck of cards.

RE: Dash AC not cold

On one of my coaches I had similar pressure indications. I found out the dryer had an oulet screen that failed and allowed resin like beads to flow downstream to restrict flow through the expansion valve. After replacing dryer and expansion valve cooling returned to normal.

Electrical lighting circuit not working

I went to Motorhome this weekend to check it out. I found one of my 12 volt ceiling light circuits would not turn on, all others worked. I removed the switch and disconnected the two wires. I checked continuity across the switch and found it to be open/closed as one would expect as the rocked was moved back and forth. I measured voltage across the two disconnected wires and found 3.3 volts. I believe this means I have something wrong on the supply line to the switch. I also wonder if it could be a ground problem. All wiring is embedded in the walls except for switches and lights so I do not know where the various wire connectos or ground points are. Any ideas would be appreciated.

RE: Towing a 2 wheel drive automatic transmission

Get a vehicle that can be towed safely (I tow SRX with no concern) according to manufacturers instructions. Use a tow dolley. Stop trying to improvise a solution that would likely cause you to drive down ths road watching for smoke from your toad.

House battery solenoid location

We have 2013 Tuscany 40EXT. I think my house battery solenoid may be failed. When I operate the rocker switch by the entry door, it does not deenergize the DC loads. If anyone knows where the solenoid is I would appreciate the info. Due to pandemic we are not using the coach.

RE: Best mouse trap?

I used to trap when I found evidence in RV. Poison worked until one decided crawl under inverter and die. Our minature poodle sniffed that one out. Now we try to keep them out by spreading bay leaves around the RV. Apparently mice do not like the smell. Works for us.

RE: Bought a 2000 Airstream Land Yacht

We had a 30' 98 land yacht for a couple of years. Bought it new. It was small enough that we did not tow intially. Drove well in the wind because of slanted front. We got 10-11 mpg at highway speed. We did have trouble with water getting into bays and we had some mice issues. I do not remember having to make any repairs on the unit. We traded for larger unit because we were going to be spending about 4 months out of the year in it. We are still doing it. Good luck with the coach.

RE: Air Gauges, Bad or Not?

I had 02 Horizon with strange gage readings. Before replacing gages I called freightliner tech support. They had me replace a computer module (I cannot remember what it was called) in back of the coach. This solved the problem. It was not the gages. I suggest you call chassis manufacturer tech support and discuss problem with them.
