RE: Robbery South of Penasco

Unfortunately not the first time this has happened in Mexico. This was a coordinated effort. Someone north of the incident, toll booth, fuel station etc. Let their compadres know they were coming. These were not just run of the meal thieves. But right now according to family I have in Mexico, so many out of work petty theft is at new levels. Glad to hear they are all safe!

Crocodile awareness in Mexico

6-year-old boy remains in critical condition after suffering an attack from a three-meter crocodile near El Palmar Beach in Ixtapa on Tuesday afternoon. The crocodile dragged the boy under the water and held him below the surface for roughly 10 minutes, the child suffered a number of bites on the head, arms, chest and legs. The local boy, from the municipality of Zihuatanejo, wandered away from his parents on the beach with his sister. According to a Mexico News Daily report, the pair explored a nearby estuary, next to the Pacifica Resort, which has a fenced off area and a bridge above it. It's a known hotspot for crocodiles. Had a friend lose dog to crocs in Mexico. We have had them on the beach once that I know of in LDM.

RE: What will Canadians fo this fall/winter

We are staying put until there is a vaccine available. I have a few Canadian friends that are making different plans for the winter other than heading to Mexico. We are heeding all safety precautions whether the border opens or not. Be safe!

RE: Covid-19 in Guerrero

I know you can’t believe everything you read. Today’s LA Times: Mexico 142,000 cases reported. 16,000 deaths reported. 1 in 5 cases involve health care workers due to lack of PPE. Article states that only one third of cases and deaths are actually reported, jumping cases and deaths three fold.

RE: Covid-19 in Guerrero

All the data unfortunately can not be trusted coming out of Mexico. Many people are dying at home and are not being counted. PPE is lacking for all the health workers and many have contacted the virus. Border cities are being hit really hard. Personally I would take any statistics with a grain of salt.

RE: No Corona

Corona beer is the most popular beer in the world including the United States. We have traveled Europe, Central, South America, Canada and have always found Corona beer sold. The dinosaurs are still on the label and Corona bottle labels are imprinted into the glass. It became a pilsner beer in 1925 in Mexico brewed by German immigrants. In 1976 Grupo Modelo started exporting Corona to the U.S. By the way its not my favorite beer but it is the beer I drink most in Mexico and home I have a 12 pk in fridgerator now, won't last long. Stay thirsty My friend!

RE: Shooting in Manzanillo Colima

Couple of corrections. Evening news said it was restaurant Huachinango not tiburón. We left so quickly got the name confused with another restaurant. Also lady shot in leg was an employee other person shot was the owner. Neither fatal wounds. Guessing but sounds like a warning.

Shooting in Manzanillo Colima

Just left restaurant El Tiburón in La boquita beach. Passed by and decided that was the restaurant for us. Made a u turn and arrived. Got out of our vehicle and people we’re scattering. Six Policía Municipal arrived sirens blaring. Heard people standing yelling they need an ambulance. We were going in to restaurant and they were carrying a lady out. She was shot in the leg. Bystander. Police sealed the crime seen with tape nobody out or in. They were investigating the crime scene. Spoke with one officer he told me that the shooters left and they were in pursuit. One of them was shot in shoulder. We were allowed to leave and we are now at Playa Las Brisa recovering from the scare. Second time in Mexico we have missed a shootout in Mexico. We do it go to places we feel are dangerous. We must have someone looking down on us. I will say the police were very profesional, efficient and courteous.

RE: Four Questions

Cruz maria is full. Most parks here have sites available but changes daily. Getting very popular here And three toll booths on our way south the locals threw up barricades and would not let you pass unless you paid their asking price which was posted on a cardboard sign.

RE: Shaw Satellite

Hi Rob, I see you and Jean made it down already. I have a 75cm dish I am going to use. Whats confusing to me is the (new) LNB I find on Ebay say "New Shaw Triple Satellite Quad Output Switchable xKu LNB for 60E DISH LNB " Or 75E dish. So I guess 75E would be my need? The receiver I have was used two years ago and has been updated, so I think I'm good with receiver.

Shaw Satellite

Hi, It's been a few years since I have had to use my Shaw satellite dish, sharing with my Canadian buddies I travel with. Unfortunately they will not be making it this year. I will set my dish up but I understand I need a newer style LNB. Would like to order on line but need to know exactly which one. Help will be appreciated! Thanks Chuck

RE: I need 2 tires

If you can't find someone to bring them down you might consider replacing all four rear tires with Mexican ones. It might even be less expensive.
