RE: "Normal" refrigerator temps

Instructions on two different brands of refrigerators, , Frigidaire and GE, both say set the temperature of the refer at 37 and the freezer at o. I think they understand the temperatures as well as the appliances they manufacture.

RE: RV Parks in Denver area for July?? Maybe....

Cherry creek and chatfield **** are both very nice and very busy. Hard to get into. Ther are two. RV parks around federal and hi 280. One is flying saucer RV park. Older park that was once a mobile home park. There is another around the corner on federal blvd but forgot the name . It is a mobile home park with some RV spots and is pretty nice. If all else fails you can try Jefferson county fairs grounds. They have full hook up and take reservations.

RE: Steering Wheel Lock ??

Get the real manual off the internet if it’s anything like my wrangler. The manual that comes with the cars are not necessarily totally accurate. When I complained Jeep customer service told me the “real” manual is on line.

RE: levelers

Just put HWH jacks on our coach. Replaced level legs. My dealer installed the in 1 1/2 days. HWH will do it at their factory in Moscow Iowa also. Wouldn’t mess with any others

RE: What does having an appointment mean?

It’s different at different locations. I’ve experienced both. To one dealer it meant he had a place to park another motor home in his “waiting service” lot and he would get to it sometime. The other one means if you have an appointment have it there by 08:30 that morning because that’s when he is planning on working on it.

RE: Socks again

Don’t think you have to worry about which sock was the lost, left or right. Sounds like you don’t have the situation my father used to describe. That was there was no left or right in socks until they were worn for about 5 weeks.

RE: Full-time and don't/didn't like it?

When we first retired we thought about full timing and joined a full timers club. We kept our house and traveled for 3 months. Gave up the full time idea and traveled for 3 months, then home for 3 months. That worked fine for us. As the years have gone by we travel far less and are home far more. I have known several couples that gave up their home for full timing and when the time came to give it up did not have the resources to reestablish a home. Full timers need to have a plan to get out when the time comes

RE: Refinancing an RV

I refinanced our motor home a number of years ago. Was approved with a local credit union until I learned I had to carry $500 deductible insurance. Walked away and refinance at same lower rate with my bank. Was easy. The bank took care of all the details. Shop around with all the poaaibilities.

RE: Bounder with Atwood jacks

I replaced my Atwood jacks with HWH hydraulic jacks. Not inexpensive, but best thing I ever did. I kept all the Atwood system and if nothing else can use the jacks for boat anchors

RE: Zoning Law

From a contractor I ask about putting 2 RV pads in the back of my house. He said one for the storage / parking of my motor home would be ok. But the second one I wanted to use for quests would probably violate zoning as it was zoned for single family housing. So one was ok not 2. If there is a pad there someone obviously parked one there one time or another. Were I you I’d try i it and wait for someone to tell me I was wrong.

RE: Atwood Levelegs

My Atwood jacks are history.. just received word that they have been removed and HWH hydraulic jacks installed and that they work ”beautifully”. Will pick up my coach next Monday. I’m excited. For the first time in 12 years I will no longer worry about wether I can leave when I’m ready to travel. I never liked the Atwood’s. Bought the coach new and one jack was replaced under warranty before I ever left town. Have had 4 other coaches over the years and each had HWH jacks and never had one problem with them. Hope I have same experience with these.

RE: Rio Grande Village RV Campground in Big Bend NP

Not sure how many times I’ve heard that the RV park is just an asphalt parking lot. That’s true but no one mentions that the area immediately behind each spot is a relative nicely grassed area with trees nand picnic tables. At least it was when last I was there.

RE: 2012 Thor Avanti Diesel

I also am not familiar with this model, but don’t think it is a diesel pusher. May be a diesel but sure looks like the engine is in the front.. could be a front engine diesel which would make considerably more engine noise than a pusher and probably more noise than a gas engine

RE: Atwood Levelegs

I have off and off trouble leveling and retracting my level legs for about two years. Have cleaned all connections, found that engine on fast idle helped and many times I had to recycle them numerous times to get them to retract. Last trip I had to lay in a mud puddle to retrace one jack so we could travel. In another 2 weeks I will have lots of spare parts as my new HWH leveling system is being delivered to my dealer as I write this. It’s not cheap but I’m sick and tired of not knowing if I’m leaving when I want to or if I’m going to play with jacks. It will be the last time I have to lay in the mud to get the jacks up. Call HWH they’ll instal a new system or sell and deliver to a capsbile dealer. Won’t be cheap but it will be good

RE: Mobile Detailing - Tucson Az

I don’t know any but I would think any of the dealers there would know of someone. In fact from some time ago I remember that freedom RV would wash and wax. It wasn’t cheap then and don’t know if they still do even that

RE: roadside service providers

I’ve had coach net for nearly 20 years, used them 3 times and always excellent service. I ask one of the service providers who responded to my roadside emergency if he worked with just coach net. Said no, he worked for all of them. He said from his prospective coach net was the best because they paid him faster and was just easier to work with.

RE: Southside RV Park Tucson, AZ

I also suggest you try the Pima county fair grounds just south of I10 offf houghton road. I think they are open then but do know you cannot stay there starting April.

RE: Southside RV Park Tucson, AZ

The base has parking with no hook up one can use while you are on a waiting list for a full hook up site. If you don’t mind boon docking for a couple of days you might try this. I would call them to make sure you can get a dry site.
