RE: Driving through D.C.

Interstates in DC are suicidal! And DC has the worst, rudest drivers I have ever encountered. Give yourself 5 miles distance to work into the lane you need, as it will take that long to have one driver let you change lanes. Awful!!

RE: Small Travel Trailers

Forest River iPods are pretty cool trailers, my MIL had two and loved them.

RE: Class A, gas or diesel

When diesel cost $0.60 to $1.00 more per gallon you won't make up the difference in fuel economy. Actually my old gasser MPG was between 4-7 MPG, and my current diesel is very consistent 10 MPG regardless of hills/wind, etc... And diesel is currently 25 cents higher than gas in my area, so I think I am ahead currently on fuel cost with my DP.

RE: Class A, gas or diesel

I have owned both and wish I had started with Diesel. The ride is exceptional as compared to the gasser with the air ride suspension. The engine noise is like night and day also. Many more amenities and the maintenance cost goes up, but only about $300/year. I know things that break will be more $$$ but so far so good.

RE: Compartment Door Slam Latches

I dont slam my doors, instead upon closing I release the latch with my right hand and "knee" the door closed, then release the latch. Never had on break yet.

RE: Anyone using a dishwasher in their caravan? Thoughts?

We have a dishwasher in our ClassA DP and it works great. We surprisingly use ours alot and it gives us more RnR time!

RE: About to GO Full Time

Whatever you decide upon for an RV, buy it a year ahead of your FT timeframe to give you time to work out the bugs. You dont want to spend time in a hotel because your new rig is in the shop for months.

RE: First Diesel Pusher Drive

I too had trouble acclimating to the air brakes on my DP when I jumped into it. It just took some time, and it gets better with experience. For the short term just give yourself more room to brake.

RE: Recommendations for Receiving Mail while Full Timing?

I am interested in comparisons, best providers for this type of service also.

RE: Electrical issue

TV are on your inverter, so likely that is the issue if other breakers are ok.

So Dakota Domicile

Hi All, I am ready to pull the trigger on Full Timing and plan to Domicile in So Dakota. I have been reading up on this, but dont really understand the vehicle registration. Do you have to have proof of original sales tax paid in your current state for each vehicle when it was originally purchased? And if so does that keep you from paying SD sales tax upon registration? Thx, Jeff
