RE: COE

East Bank COE, Chattahoochee. W/E only, dump etc. Yea but, East Bank Campground is just across the state line in Georgia.

RE: COE

Thanks for the link to that site! Tennessee has a LOT of COE campgrounds, usually multiples on every TVA reservoir. I would not be surprised if it had the most of any state. TVA lakes are not USACE lakes, and TVA's campgrounds aren't really in the same class. Plus TVA has leased out or closed many of the ones they did have.

RE: 2019+ RAM HD with failed CP4-2 IP to get CP3's

Has anyone heard of issues with the new pump GM is using in the Duramax? Have not heard of issues with the new Denso pump. But there are reports they are having issues with the Denso injectors. So far I love my L5P, but tomorrow is a new day and anything can happen.

RE: 2nd AC Wiring

Look at this thread from July 20011. I think this will do what you want

RE: Transmission Fluid Change 2013 Chevy Duramax Allison

Allison Transmission Look and see if you have a local Allison dealer. I have one local and their filters have been much cheaper than anywhere else.

RE: Best route around/thru Nashville & Memphis

East or west I-840 around Nashville.

RE: best route to santa rosa rv resort from I-65

I like AL 41 into Brewton AL. US-31 may be a few miles shorter. But has more traffic. Also exit 77 lets you use the rest area before you get of I-65.

RE: Fall Creek Falls to Gatlinburg

Out the south entrance to TN-111 south. Down the mountain to US-127 north. Just before Crossville TN take a right on TN-392 (Miller Ave) north to I-40 east. I wouldn't want to take a trailer out the north side of the park to TN-30. But if I did TN-101 (Lantana Rd) to TN-392, would be my choice.

RE: Need tire and wheel help

Get the 16" rims and a good LT tire. Don't look back. I did this to our last trailer, at 9k only ran 70 psi in the 235/85/R16 BFG's

RE: Just about dropped it!

It's all about routine no matter what you are doing! Because I usually have pressure against the trailer. I always pin it open, so I always have to move the pin back. Back under, remove pin, swing handle shut and reinstall pin.

RE: Guess what happened to me today!

Homemade cardboard refrigerator cover/vent. After losing original.

RE: Overnight stop near Atlanta

Altoona Landing! IIRC we stayed there once on the way back north and would never stay again. We got there late and left early but the staff seemed nice and the campgrounds were also nice. The problem was the train that ran about every hour all night blowing it's whistle every time. Jim. X2! We stayed once. We were so close to the tracks the ground shook.

RE: Cloudland Canyon SP GA

East rim is where the canyon views are. IMHO west rim has the best campsites, a more woodsy feel.

RE: Least stressful route from Hiawassee, GA to Pikeville, TN?

What Ivylog posted is quite true, the road is much better now. However if you are planning on taking this trip on a weekend I would not use US-64. I would take US-76 all the way to I-75 at Dalton GA. Then I-75 north to TN-153 in Chattanooga. Take TN-153 north to US-27 north, then TN-111 to Dunlap TN and US-127 north to Pikeville TN. TVA releases water on the week ends and the Ocoee Gorge becomes one large traffic jam of rafting company buses, kayakers & others who stop and look or park everywhere.

RE: How to access/check RV slide motor? 2006 Four Winds

To what CA Traveler said I bet the bolt fell out of one side. On a trailer these timing gears would be outside of the frame, running from 1 slide support to the other. Get the slide even on both sides and replace the bolt.

RE: "Poles on slide?" 1999 Jayco Eagle model 266

We had a 99 243RKS 5'er, it had 2 bars that held the slide IN. They laid on top of the slide. We tie some red ribbon to them that hung down as a visible reminder to remove them before running the slide out.

RE: N. Ga to Bar Harbor

I would go up to Hayesville NC and take US-64 east to Franklin NC. Then US-23 north to US-74 east and I-40. However you could take US-76 east to Clayton GA and US-23 there, longer but flatter. At I-40 I would go east to Asheville and I-26 north to I-81. However 40 west to I-81 is again longer but flatter.

RE: Generic questions about 5-ers

Sounds like it, with a MH, you need to weigh loaded for travel and subtract from the GCWR to ensure there is enough for the toad. With a FW it sounds like I need to make sure the truck can handle the load of the PIN, plus what's in the truck, plus the tow weight of the FW loaded for travel. Going out on a limb that most modem FW have brakes right? (that could be a bold assumption) We have a supplemental braking system on the CRV when we tow it behind the MH. Yes you need enough payload with the truck to carry 20-25% of the loaded trailer weight. Plus the people and cargo loaded in the truck. A SRW F-350 is the same size as a F-250, but has a greater load carrying capacity. Cost should be very similar as they a 95% the same truck.

RE: School me on waste totes

A thirty gallon tote full weighs 250 pounds minimum water only plus the tote. That’s manageable for you lifting a full tote from your truck bed to the ground? No need, hook the long hose up and dump from the truck bed.

RE: New Truck 4x4 or 4x2 ??

This is a RV forum. In the context of using the truck for the movement of the RV, how many have actually NEEDED to use 4WD & how often? What I wish I could have over a 4X4 is a locking diff. All that weight over locked DRW has to make a huge difference over power to one rear wheel & a lightly loaded front wheel. To the question of needing 4X4 while camping. Once, backing up a muddy hill on a rainy night. You have a rare truck. Over 90% of Duramax truck were equipped with the Heavy Duty Power Pack option, Duramax, Allison & Eaton locker. Most of those not so equipped were manual transmission trucks.
