RE: Hyundi Santa Cruz

My daughter uses her Subaru Accent to tow a 5,000 trailer. Does it work good? Yes, it has the power. That's all I can say. The transmission already has been worked on. Will it last? Probably not. That little turbo'd engine just doesn't seem, to me, a good idea for towing much of anything. Now, a Hyundai? They already have a reputation for lived motors. Why take a chance on exasperating that issue?

RE: Seeking Simple RV Recipes

No mess omellettes: Crack a couple of eggs open into a quart ziplock baggie. Add veggies. Colse and mix well. Toss into a pot of boiling water for 10-13 minutes. Dump on a plate and top with cheese.

RE: Water Pressure Regulator

I've used that regulator for several years, no problems.
Ditto at least mine looks like that, not sure of the brand tho. I have no idea why you's need a $150 regulator.
25 years of RVing, never had a problem with the cheapo's.

RE: Bigfoot dirty water streaks down sides from roof, solutions?

We all encounter it. We just live with the fact we have dirty air, caused by the diesel trucks, coal powered electric plants and other caustic things we humans are use t using. If you rinse off early/often enough, you won't need a grinder to remove it later.

RE: Is there an Air Conditioner using Inverter Compressor

Many people in Australia has installed the household inverter type revers cycle 240V air conditioning in there FW, and also now’s of one using the roof type cassette, not heard of any failure for several years. I and many others have also installed household 240V inverter refrigerator which runs of a 350-375W inverter.
Frank.
That would work in Australia and Europe. They use 230V as home electric. Here, in the USA, not so much.

RE: Purchasing first TT, need a bit of sanity checking advice

All I can picture is my old next door neighbor hooking up his Chevy 1500 with a good looking offroad suspension to my 10,000 pound dump trailer. I just laughed when his truck's front end was pointing up to the sky. I was sure his front tires where going to come off the ground..... He would have had no steering capabilities had I let him continue. So, I loaned him my Dodge 2500. He then realized he had a car with a truck bed.

RE: No headlights problem please help

Start by disconnecting the wiring. Clean those connections with baking soda and water, then apply dielectric grease when re-assembling.

RE: New Ride

Very nice truck, the Ford dealers near me have zero trucks on the lot.
The dealers around here have the employees park up front, to make it look like they have cars....

RE: Slide Electrical Issues

All systems on the trailer are 12 volt. Since it operates when plugged in, it will be a battery issue. Have your battery tested, if over 3 years old, replace it.
I agree. Try using a different battery (even your truck battery).

RE: New Jersey to California

Man, not driving PCH from San Diego on up? What a mistake. Some of the most beautiful ocean views on earth are down there by San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Laguna Beach, Santa Monica, Carlsbad, and the whole stretch from Long Beach to Santa Barbara. And, some great places to stop and eat......We're talking Michelin 4 and 5 star. You won't find places like that in Kansas......

RE: New Jersey to California

Try not to take the 8, down by Yuma AZ. Instead, use the 40, going through Kingman AZ. Stop to see the Hoover dam. Head over to a casino in Bullhead City. When it comes to the PCH, there is just too much to list..... Do you have Carlsberg Caverns on your list of stops? Right now is the time to leave. It still hasn't hit the 100's in AZ or Texas....

RE: Replacement City Water Inlet recommendation

You have to take caution when ordering the new assembly. There are more than one size, with or without the door. I have read in the past that the few that have the plastic hose connectors do not leak over time vs those that are made of metal. So, I used that one in replacing mine a few months ago. It works fine, but is not time tested. Oh, as a footnote, they are not easy to replace. The filler and overflow hoses are cut just long enough to frustrate re-assembly. Hopefully you have other access door close to the newly installed assembly you can reach through, like an outside shower. I had to remove the outside shower box and use that access to reach in and connect the two hoses mentioned.

Heng's works good. One day recoat, lasts years. Material for a 28' trailer was less than $300 (including caulk).

RE: How am I going to re-attach this jack?

I'd be looking at welded steel at each corner, running the entire length of the camper. 2X2 angle at the bottom, with 2X2 at each corner, at least a foot long. Gussets where you can fit them.
