RE: How long do you drive/tow in a day?

Now that I am retired and older, I try to keep it to 3 hours a day. But, sometimes when necessary it has been 6 hours when we have trouble finding a evenings stay or in the middle of nowhere.

RE: Changing Tires

If you have hydraulic jacks you from the all down bring the rear jacks so they will raise the rear of the trailer and thus wheels off the ground. Bring up only far enough so tire is off ground.

RE: RV Manufacture warranty

The warranty is only as good as the manufacturer. Remember, things like A/C, Fridge, heaters are covered by those manufactures, not the RV company. I have a Cameo that went out of business, like many others, but any problems I did have, all though few, were covered by the appliance manufactures.

RE: Navigation

Google maps is fine if you are not worried about areas with propane restrictions or height of an RV. If you are the same height as a semi truck you need a GPS that steers you clear of low clearance.

RE: Navigation

I have an older Garmin RV 660. I know there are some new ones out, but I'd say it is about 95% accurate. I use it in conjunction with the Rand McNally TRUCKERS atlas. I have the laminated edition. It is really helpful. With the laminate you can draw your route on it with a board marker. It gives a wealth of information. As far as the Garmin goes, I know they have new models available.

RE: Truck Seat Repair

LIKEBUILD2: Thanks for your input. I knew about the duct tape or Gorilla glue leaking off the edges, but was not sure about the Eternabond. Thanks for the positive answer. I appreciate it. There is no hole, just wear of the 1st layer, so I can not install a backing.

RE: Roadside Assistance provider

Check with Coach-net. They have been great with me.

RE: Truck Seat Repair

I am going to restate what I need. Has anyone ever patched a area on their truck seat that was worn? If so with what? Has anyone ever used Eternabond for this repair, and if so are the results acceptable. I am NOT interested in covers or purchasing another truck.

Truck Seat Repair

I have a 2006 Ford Lariet with the fake leather seats. In one area the seat is wearing (about 6 x 6 area). What I want to know is if any one has had luck with any manufacture of vinyl repair or will eternabond roof tape work? The problem is on the driver side front area left of the seat, so it is not a flat area, but curved.

RE: Electric Jacks Lubricant

If you have cylinder like pistons use silicone spray.

RE: How to get an RV up a steep drive way

You might have to put blocks at the foot of the drive and pitch them in a way so the RV rear is raised before it bottoms out, the once you are over that hurdle you can remove the blocks and back it straight up the drive. Be careful and have a spotter to help. Be careful of rolling.

RE: Water hose for fresh water hook up

Upon check all suggestions and the hose ratings I came to the conclusion that no matter what hose is purchased it will fail. I had mentioned that I am full-timing and when not traveling I have hose continually hooked up at my site. This is about 6 mo out of the year. It would not be feasible for me to use a tank. I am aware of the repair kits, but the hose that went is a 3' lead hose from the outside faucet to the filter and it would probably cost me more for the repair kit than another hose. Thanks all for your help. I will compare all suggestions and go from there.

RE: Water hose for fresh water hook up

OCMan = the leak in this case is coming from the crimp. Not at the point where the coupling swivels. Good point, thanks. riw999 = I do have a angle and the hose is straight. This particular hose that has the coupling leak is straight and is attached to my filter at ground level.

RE: Water hose for fresh water hook up

Thanks 2oldman. I usually look things up from past posts, but this time I didn't. Guess I had brain freeze. :)

RE: Water hose for fresh water hook up

I use the quick connectors also. I will look into the above. Keep suggestions coming, they are helping a lot. On the Zero G hose...can it take heat tape in the Winter to prevent freezing?

Water hose for fresh water hook up

I put this under Full Timing because we live in our camper 7/365 and need an excellent product. Who can recommend a potable water hose that WILL LAST AND DOES NOT FAIL. I have had poor luck with many hoses that leak at the coupling or have faulty threads, or kink. Who has had good luck and with what hose?

RE: RV furniture by LCI

We have the same probem. After much searching we ordered new furnature at Lamtright Comfort Chairs. They have a good selection of custom furnature. They mailed us some material samples and we called and ordered. They build on order, and are not cheap. It will take several months for delivery. We are expecting ours later this month. During our conversation with them, they reviewed the different furnature from brochure (previously mailed) Phone number 260-768-4820. We spoke to Jeremiah. [email protected]

RE: Trailer too long for truck?

If I am correct it is only weight and trailer distribution that matters. You want the weight to be with=in tow limits of your truck and the distribution so you don't get tail wag going down the road. The rest is up to the expertise of the driver.

RE: 13'5" clearance

You should not have problems as long as you don't go under a bridge lower. My 5er is 13'6"
