Almost disaster

I had a shop in Foley Al. change the oil and filters. It was expected that they'd use their filters, double the price of Fleetguard filters. An additional $70 to install their double-priced air filter was surprising, but that's a real pain to do.
The real kicker, though, was that the oil sump drain plug was only finger-tight, or finger-loose, and had backed out about halfway to falling out. That I always take a peek to see what's leaking today saved us.
Always, always go behind service people and check things.

RE: Florida State Park Reservation window changes

Locals will grab every weekend anyway, so this just gives them a month head start. That will surely shut out anyone who would like to stay more than five days at a time.

RE: Fiberglass roof crack repair

Using Eternabond primer really helps, plus you need a lot of pressure on a hard roller to get it to bond properly.

RE: Rodent repellant

We use bronze wool for some of the openings because plumbing or wiring may need to be replaced.

RE: Securing a Regular Microwave in an RV: Affordable Solutions?

An RV microwave has ducts to force exhaust out the front plus is secured by the front panel, called a trim ring or plate.
You could of course use a metal strap across the top of an ordinary microwave to secure it but that doesn't address the vented heat and moisture.

RE: Did I damage my house batteries?

If the charger isn't charging properly the battery type doesn't matter; it'll kill either. That should be addressed first.

RE: Did I damage my house batteries?

Battery water level should be at the bottom of the tube/slot or slightly lower but still covering the plates when looking down the filler hole. It should never be actually full. A common plastic battery'watering jug will take care of the level.
Sounds like they're being overcharged. Right now, with normal fulltime usage and plugged in, my converter is putting out 13.3 volts.
Batteries do of course fail. I had a pair of Interstate Grp 31 batteries that lasted six years, then supposed equivalent Walmart Everstart batteries that lasted all of 14 months, and now a pair of Crown GC2 that are a little over three years old.

RE: Brevard County Florida camping fee changes

Snowbirds will simply go to south Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas etc. They're not obligated to go to Florida, and those state are less expensive.
You'll still find every site reserved every weekend year-round in Florida. The difference will be that parks are empty Monday through Thursday.

You're not going to do without a/c in the Helen/Cleveland area. Not enough altitude.

RE: How to transfer large video from phone to computer

Not all USB cables are data cables, so be sure you have one that's not simply for charging.
You probably need to select on one or both devices that the connection is for file transfer, not charging.

RE: 19.5 tires

The brands mentioned are fine. Probably Falken too since it's a subsidiary of Sumitomo. According to Wikipedia they're made in Buffalo, NY.
