RE: Installing black water tank

Isn't it going to be dictated by where the toilet is?

RE: Did I damage my house batteries?

If the charger isn't charging properly the battery type doesn't matter; it'll kill either. That should be addressed first.

RE: Did I damage my house batteries?

Battery water level should be at the bottom of the tube/slot or slightly lower but still covering the plates when looking down the filler hole. It should never be actually full. A common plastic battery'watering jug will take care of the level. Sounds like they're being overcharged. Right now, with normal fulltime usage and plugged in, my converter is putting out 13.3 volts. Batteries do of course fail. I had a pair of Interstate Grp 31 batteries that lasted six years, then supposed equivalent Walmart Everstart batteries that lasted all of 14 months, and now a pair of Crown GC2 that are a little over three years old.

RE: Brevard County Florida camping fee changes

Snowbirds will simply go to south Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas etc. They're not obligated to go to Florida, and those state are less expensive. You'll still find every site reserved every weekend year-round in Florida. The difference will be that parks are empty Monday through Thursday.

RE: Tennessee/North Carolina - Cool summer weather

You're not going to do without a/c in the Helen/Cleveland area. Not enough altitude.

RE: How to transfer large video from phone to computer

Not all USB cables are data cables, so be sure you have one that's not simply for charging. You probably need to select on one or both devices that the connection is for file transfer, not charging.

RE: 19.5 tires

The brands mentioned are fine. Probably Falken too since it's a subsidiary of Sumitomo. According to Wikipedia they're made in Buffalo, NY.

RE: No place to camp in Florida

As of right now 2/21, 14 Florida state parks have availability for at least a few days beginning 2/22.

RE: Dually Valve Stem Extenders

If you do go with the Borg extended stems be sure to get the rubber grommets for the holes in the outer rim, for both stems, and you may need to secure them with a little silicone goop. The grommets prevent the stems from rotating and wearing on the edge of the hole.

RE: Generation X

If you put a softstart device on one of those air conditioners a 2200-2500w unit should be sufficient. The only real caveats are to get a quiet inverter unit, and if you're running the a/c you're probably not going to be able to run any major appliances at the same time. Of course a 3600w unit would replace what you lost but they're rather heavy. There's a 4000w installed unit available to replace the Onan for significantly less money if you're interested. https://rvmp.co/products/flex-power-4000i-rv-generator

RE: Back in the dark ages !

I've read that charging lithiums with an ordinary alternator can smoke your alternator. Investigate before doing that.

RE: Brevard County Florida camping fee changes

Turns out Brevard County residents aren't participating in the rate increases, $27/day for them and $46/day for everyone else. https://www.brevardfl.gov/ParksAndRecreation/Campgrounds/LongPointParkCampground/Rates
