RE: Pickle on My Entry Door Grab Handle

I have quite literally seen "The Pickle." It was in north Georgia and was a GMC MH converted to be a food truck and due to it's offensive color it was known as "The Pickle." Since I started hollerin when I saw it it had obviously had been on TV. Maybe those late night channels, I dunno.

RE: Fix for Error: Topics per page to 20 Posts per page to 10

That worked for me. I had 40 and 10 and the change to 20 and 10 fixed it.

RE: Error Messages

It's too bad to see this forum slide into oblivion. It was very useful for years and I learned a lot. Unfortunately the sysops, if there are any, have been instructed to simply ignore it until it dies. There is no excuse; it's a conscious decision to kill it.

RE: Camp Kitchen with Sink that connects to outside shower?

I tried using a laundry sink but it was so deep it was a back-killer.

RE: Camp Kitchen with Sink that connects to outside shower?

A number of plastic table/sink combos are available on Amazon and elsewhere Just run a hose from your shower nozzle to the sink. You can (and should) cobble together a drain connection to your sewer hose using sewer hose adaptors. Don't drain it on the ground. You'll need to control water at the shower fixture; if it's mixed it'll be mixed throughout the camper unless you install check valves.

RE: Florida in January

You'll have extreme difficulty finding camping spots, and there's no such thing as boondocking. You have to start right this minute, and expand your search to south Georgia, south Alabama, Missisippi and Louisiana. All wll be far warmer than Dakota.

RE: Popping sounds from Winnebago

It can happen with jacks and it can also happen with side walls in sunshine. No big deal.

RE: Tornado hits Carolina camp ground

I'd have screw anchors installed, then chain the axles to the anchors with shackles to comply with code but I'd be able unshackle and go if needed. It's hard to imagine someone would leave an RV in that area of the country over the summer and expect it to remain no matter how strapped down. I guess no one learned anything from Rockport a couple of year ago.

RE: Recommendations for RV Park near Helen,GA I've seen a big rig on the site nearest the office. I wouldn't take anything farther up the hill; the turns are rather tight. If you can get in, it's very handy to Helen. Also there's an Ingles supermarket just south in Cleveland. You aren't thinking of coming down US-129 are you?

RE: Crystal River Area

They'll be aggravated all right. Camp somewhere in the area and go to Crystal River for one of the many manatee excursions. Molest our wild manatees and you'll enjoy a citation from the Grouper Troopers.

RE: Gulf states and hurricanes?

You'll very likely be fine in June and July. Just hot.

RE: RV Weather Station

OK... You need several feet above a structure for your temp sensor to be reasonable, and it should be in the shade. Every day I see on the internet a sensor that's obviously in full sun making it useless. An anemometer should be really high. Most home units are not, rendering their readings irrelevent. On the back of my unit at 14 feet, blocked by trees and another unit; not much point to it. If I was a 1/3 mile down at the lakefront it would be tremendously different. So put your temp sensor in the shade and be happy.

RE: Ants

Alabama and MIssippi ants fall from the trees. Trust me on this.
