RE: Why no ignitor on RV stove?

We have a 2021 Coachmen Mirada and it has an igniter that will light the burners and the oven pilot. Perhaps a new feature or something on “higher end” coaches?

RE: 2021 Chassis Class A Motorhomes

We have a 2021 Coachmen Mirada. We upgraded from a 2018 Thor ACE. It’s no sports car but handles noticeably better - especially when a big rig blows by on the highway. It’s generally quieter and much better at higher RPM. MPG seems about the same, although I don’t really track it closely. We’ve very happy with it.

RE: If you bought your RV on payments from General RV.

People don’t realize that their payments are really low?

RE: Brought home a 2021 Coachmen Mirada 35ES

If you bought at General RV and financed the coach through them review your financing paperwork very closely. If you financed for 240 months, check the paperwork for smudges on the banks copy in the months column. General RV is currently under investigation in several states for "financing irregularities". General RV Investigation Did not finance through them. Thanks for the tip - maybe it helps someone else.

Brought home a 2021 Coachmen Mirada 35ES

I thought some folks would be interested to hear. We bought at General RV in Ocala. We were happy with the process and their setup. PDI issues we found we handled same day (nothing major obviously). Found out later that the hot water heater doesn’t work on electric and the ice maker doesn’t work at all. Everything else seems good. We traded in a Thor ACE, and the Mirada fit and finish are obvious upgrades. The new V-8 is fine. It feels less “peppy” than the V-10 we had, but it’s moving a bigger coach. The handling is a big improvement over the Thor. It definitely needs an alignment but otherwise we’re quite happy. Glad to answer any questions, and be warned I’m not the most mechanically inclined!

RE: How long do you drive/tow in a day?

I did a 976 mile day a few weeks ago. A couple hours too much but I work full time in the cold north and wanted badly to be in Florida. Typically our FL runs involve at least one 15-16 hour day each way.

RE: camping outlook 2021

Mass State Parks all seem to book up really quick. We’re the dreaded “weekend warriors” and we’ve already booked 7 weekends at various private campgrounds. I’m usually pretty happy if I only have to pay $60/night..

RE: Electrical gremlins

I think I figured it out! The wire coming out of the back of the fuse panel seemed to have a loose connection. I was trying to jam my multimeter probe into it and all the sudden I hear the fridge click on. This weekend’s project: make sure all the wires out of the fuse box are snug. Thank you all for your ideas!

RE: Electrical gremlins

The 120 is not plugged in. I checked the “most likely” fuses but apparently I should check them all. Ken, I’ll definitely look for another fuse panel. I don’t know what a “large r fuse” is. What’s it look like and where might I find it? My fuse panel is right next to my 120 breaker panel and only has about 10 fuses. Thank you both for the ideas!

Electrical gremlins

Help please? Got back from a road trip. Left the coach (2018 ACE 30.3) unplugged in the driveway for two days. Found these things not working on 12V: Fridge - checked with a meter - not getting 12V Front of coach ceiling lights Bathroom ceiling light Bathroom vent fan Lights work on 110V. Everything else is working on 12V - water pump, drop down bunk, ceiling vent fan, stovetop vent fan, slides, ceiling lights in the bedroom. Checked the logical fuses, they were fine. Any ideas?

RE: Thor (ACE) thumbs up or down?

We have a 2018 ACE 30.3. We’re very happy with it. About 9,000 miles and 40 nights in it this year. It does seem cheaply made in some ways but you get some higher end features too. Maybe I’m more tolerant of “bad manners” but I think it drives fine. Biggest complaint is probably noise while driving. I have to keep a “C” clamp on the drivers window or else there’s a horrific whistle.

RE: Propane shut off

Why? I never have, and it’s not something I’ve ever heard is necessary.
