RE: Suburban water heater replacement issue

Sharkbite fittings work well in tight places also.

RE: RV cable

Have you pulled the antenna amplifier out and looked a few inches up in the wall. I have found them buried there several times trouble shooting various units.

RE: No more training wheels

Wish my '12 forced me to upgrade. A couple of weeks ago had a new windshield installed and front brake pads/rotors turned at the Ford dealer. A week later the engine light conveniently came on, so stopped by the local O'Reily parts store to acquire code and got the DEF heater failure. They quoted ~$350 for a Dorman part so now I will need to decide to replace it myself(Motorcraft part only), take it to a shop, run it as is until winter or purchase a new truck.
I know you want Motorcraft but Rockauto has Dorman part for $162. They may have made the part for Ford to start with.

RE: Hot water heater question .....

Sounds like a suburban water heater. A switch in lower left corner of heater behind exterior cover and a breaker in the panel box to control 120 volt side. Atwood water heaters had the electric switch on the panel with the gas switch.

RE: Norcold n145 won't cool on propane

It drops down in the flue from the top. On the right side looking at the back. May be able toget to it from the vent if it is a side vent. It hangs from a long flexible wire about 3/4 length of the flue.

RE: Norcold n145 won't cool on propane

The heat diffuser in flue may have rusted off. This can cause cooling problems on gas.
Look on page 7 for a pic of it.part #25.

RE: 30 vs 50 amp electrical issue help

I'll bet the assembly line workers ran out of 30 amp cords and added a 50 amp instead because they had it on hand. The question is did they only connect one of the two hot wires (this would be good as it's 120v 30 amp). Or did they do some kind of bonehead move and twist the two hot leads together under one screw creating 240v (This would be bad).
This would not put 240V into trailer. It would be a direct short at the pedestel and immediatly trip the pedestel breaker even if not connected to trailer input.

RE: How to repair front trim/stripped holes on trailer?

Pull a few more screws above it to give some flexibility to clean up the old putty under the damaged trim and assess the framing. The trim is a soft aluminum and can be easily straightend. Get some new putty tape to put under the trim. Screws can be reinstalled between the original holes in the corner molding. They are self drilling, does'nt take much force tog through the trim. The new putty tape should squeeze out of the old screw holes sealing them up. As a side note, looking at the old dried and cracking putty, the whole trailer should be resealed at all the moldings and joints or water intrusion is not far off. Not hard just a little time consuming but will greatly extend the life of the trailer. Most likely wood frame with fiberglass insulation and will soak up and hold water like a sponge.

RE: Recurve R3 vs Equalizer E2

Keep the bars clean and greased well where they go in the hitch. A shot of WD40 on the bars at the L brackets and I don't get any noise.

RE: Should I Buy The Dealer's Hitch

Not sure about todays 150s but P series (passenger car)tires were the most common. They have a lower load capacity and softer sidewalls for a smoother ride but will have more side sway giving a less desireable towing experience. Switching to LT (light truck) series will have a higher load capacity, stiffer sidewall and give a better feeling of control when towing. They will ride a little stiffer but worth the feel for towing. Any type of WD hitch will improve the ride with that size trailer especially on rough roads. And from experience working at an RV dealership most travel trailers actually had a tongue weight higher than advertised.

RE: 2019 Keystone 5th wheel - TPO lifting issue

Have seen it quite a few times on other brands that use that type of build after they get a couple of seasons on them. Unless opening the roof seams for other issues would leave it be as it did not appear to be causing any issues in itself at the time. Seems the metal was not rolled tight enough and would lift off of the deck as the staples pulled free. If repairing a damaged roof I would have material rolled to the correct radius and screw it down rather than staple it.

RE: Trailer brakes not working

Control needs to feel inertia of vehicle slowing down to work. Manual lever works anytime. take it for a road test to check for normal operation.
