Holiday Trav-l Park, Emerald Isle,NC

A tornado that was spun off as Hurricane Dorian approached the area, hit the Holiday Trav-l park. I saw the photos and it is a wreck. a lot of rvs were flipped over, along with mobile homes.

RE: CBD oil

We spent $1000.00 in May for all sorts of tests to find out why he is so agitated. From our vet to our ophthalmologist, concerning his glaucoma in one eye and cataract in other to a neurologist and nothing showed why. That is when our vet suggested the CBD oil, which does help. This does not "knock him out" but does allow him to be calm both day and night. This cbd oil is for animals only. Thanks everyone for your comments.

CBD oil

I would like to know if anyone is using CBD oil for anxiety in their dog. There is a vet, Dr. Michael Fox, that has a column in our Sunday paper that suggested it. I talked to my vet and they do offer it. In fact her mother is using it for her dog and it is working for her. We are now using ElleVet, cbd oil, and it does seem to help him. But wondering about long term use. Just a fyi, he is a rescue and have no idea his background, except to know he was found in a crate in the woods. He has been with us for 2 years now and is blind. Thanks in advance for any information.

RE: Progressive RV Insurance

We have them on our home, both cars and motorhome. Always been great. We had a bump up with motorhome while travelling in Texas. Representative met us at campground, decided the amount, wrote us a check. When we got back to SC, we got it fixed. We now have no deductible on motorhome because of clean record for so long.

RE: recliner chairs for 5th wheel

You can buy la z boy recliners that are comfortable and easy to put in. That is what we have done in the past. The backs come off so easy to get in. But make sure the back does come off so it is easy to get in.

RE: MAINE Campgrounds

Mop340Cuda, Wild Duck is closer to Portland. If you go to rv park reviews, go to Maine, Portland, you will find others, plus of course reviews of the campgrounds and their amenities

RE: MAINE Campgrounds

Big Katuna, agree with you. We also stayed many, many years ago at Bailey's and hated it. First time we had ever heard of "piggyback" sites. But if op has children, might be up his alley. We also have stayed at Wild Duck and enjoyed it, however felt it took us a long time to get to some areas we wanted to explore. Another poster talked about Shore Hills in Boothbay, which we love. Some tent camping, which are at the water, some for smaller rigs, that have plenty of trees and shade, and then an area for big rigs that are pull thurs and back ins. Jean Reny and her staff are very nice. Day trips can be made from Kittery to Belfast. Many great places to eat, shop, see lighthouses from the area. And if you travel with dogs, most resaurants with outdoor seating allow dogs, which we love. If wanting to go to Bar Harbor, I would suggest going farther to find a campground. Boothbay to Bar Harbor is a 4 hour one way drive.

RE: Boarding a diabetic dog?

We had a dog with diabetes for 9 years, who also went blind. We never boarded her. I would have been a nervous wreck the whole time. If had to, I guess I would have asked my vet her opinion. Probably some of the vet techs would have been a good idea.

RE: Adopting older "kids"

We only adopt senior rescues now. Started about 6 years ago. We are of the age we still love dogs but don't have the energy to handle an active dog. Yes, they might not be with you as long but you are giving them a loving home until the end. At this what is all about. Most people don't want the seniors so it is a wonderful thing to do.

RE: Phone scammers' new trick

Best way to handle is don't answer the phone. If it is legit, the person will leave a voice mail. If you answer, the "scam" will know it is a "live" # and will continue to call.

RE: FDA Warning - Flea/Tic Meds - Dogs and Cats

I would like to know, if my dog could have had an adverse reaction to Nexgard, which was last given on 8/30, would it show up almost 30 days later? He scared me to death on Friday, September 28. Without going in to detail, I truly believe it was neurological. Took to vet and a lot was done to no avail what happened. Not willing to give him the pill right now.
