RE: Another Ford that needs to be bagged - or a dually?

That's the norm now with all the Covid campers, amazing.

RE: Ford F-250 7.3 Gas Engine Axle Ratios

We just returned from a trip with our F-250 FX4 7.3L 10spd 3.55 towing our TT in sig. More than plenty of power. Backing into the side yard through grass and soft ground with plenty of grunt just above idle. In 4 Lo, I have to ride the brake. The only thing 4.30 gears would do is reduce fuel efficiency and make it sound like I needed another gear at the top end.
what gear is the truck running in at 65-70 both towing and non-towing?
Non towing at 65-70 will always be in 10th gear unless of course the engine needs to work to climb grade.
My 7.3 3.55 is at 1600 RPMS at 70 mph.
In tow mode, 9-10 are locked out and every gear is used on take off regardless of demand, no gear skipping like running empty.

RE: Chock RV on snow/ice. NEED HELP!!!

Lots of good suggestions in not so ideal conditions.
I'd likely carry a shovel and heat gun.

RE: Toilet Mystery

Ok, somebody was quarantining in trailer? Unbeknownst to owners?

Oboy, you guys are entertaining.
I just want to know the culprit.

RE: Toilet Mystery

As someone previously mentioned, have you checked your ceiling fan vent cap for any leaks. Our is located directly over toilet.
Let us know when you find the culprit.

RE: Toilet Mystery

Perhaps you didn't relieve the pressure in the lines after shutting the pump off and water found an Avenue of least resistance, toilet valve.
But your right, not heard this one before.
Water intrusion through the roof vent would have to meet black tank capacity before threatening the toilet.

RE: Propane blockage

Something else you may consider.
If the trailer sat for awhile, spiders and paper wasp love to make homes in the Propane orifices which are responsible for how much gas flows into the burners.
Had to remove mine several times over the years and clean with pipe cleaner.
That is after you replace the parts mentioned above because what I'm referring to is exterior burners only but just something to look out for.

RE: Comparing New Tires for trailer

I believe you'll be happy with the Carlisle tires.
Previous trailer had 2 sets in 10 years without a single issue.
Current trailer is running Trailer King RST D rated, so far no complaints.
Key is to run them to max psi and check tire pressure before each trip.

RE: Ford F-250 7.3 Gas Engine Axle Ratios

One more element I might add regarding the new 10 spd transmission is you can lockout gears on the fly which is ideal for towing.

RE: Throttle enhancement

Just put the Pedal commander on my 2021 F250 7.3 which did indeed vastly improve pedal response.
I'll likely never use eco, seems pointless.

RE: GMC/Silverado 2500 Gas

Well it seems that my purchase of a 2500 may be more difficult than I would have thought.Every time I find one that fits my budget and that I like, it gets sold before I can ever get a chance to look at it.
Between a short supply and increased demand and cost this may be tricky.
I had to order a truck, painless other than the wait.....ordered 10-20 delivered 12-23.

RE: GMC/Silverado 2500 Gas

GM has always made reliable engines, 6.6 is no different but as an unbiased truck owner, 6.4 Hemi and Fords 7.3 are just as reliable.
We tow a 7700# trailer with a 3/4 ton,like the buffer.
Oh....when I'm looking at trucks I simply show my wife to the kitchen.

RE: Busted!

My trailer sits in my RV drive, which is next to my vehicle drive... My neighbors love it. Have given many tours, and showed off the light show it can do. They think it brings a touch of class to the area.
My kind of people.
I do not think I would own an RV if I had to keep it somewhere else.
I know for a fact that I'd not own an RV that required storing off site.....wife and I play cards in it all winter, little wine and a little music.

RE: 2020 new truck sales

My close friend manages a fairly large Ford dealership and claims that Superduty sales are up 15% and that the Kentucky plant is working 3 shifts trying to keep up with demand.

RE: Bottom of slideout

Are you referring to a throw rug that you installed?
All the slides that we've had over the years, the carpet slides with the slide.....never heard of the exterior bottom of slide making contact with the interior of trailer.
Perhaps take a look while operating the slide and report back.

RE: Remember when tv

I believe 1964 was our first color TV and remember Grandma being upset about the purchase. She claimed it was the one eyed devil.
Remember buying my own personal TV for my bedroom in 1972, had them fancy rabbit ears.
It was a 12" black and white.
I was so excited to lay back in bed undisturbed and watch the Baltimore bullets play.
Fast forward,
We have this high tech 70" blue-ray bluetooth HD smart tv....and the wife and I hardly ever watch tv.

RE: Cannot open grey or black tank

It's obvious the valves have not been open in quite some time and hidden valves with a turn are very hard to lube.
Try running hot dish water down each tank and try again then try taking a peice of rebarb or similar to push on flap, they give slightly laterally so escaped fluids will serve as lubrication.....yes it can get messy.

RE: Ford F-250 7.3 Gas Engine Axle Ratios

Bought my 7.3 gas strictly for towing our 30 ft trailer and the 3.55 gears doesn't acknowledge a trailer is in tow.
4.30, 3.73, 3.55....10spd makes them feel the same.
Tremor sitting on 35" tires, maybe 4.30 is justified. Imo
But how do you know different gears won't make a difference towing your trailer?
It would be marginal towing at only half the trucks capacity.

RE: Easiest plumbing job I have ever done

Envious of your plumbing skill.....even the bucket that I use to wash vehicles with leaks, seriously.
Every trap I've replaced leaks.
I can wire a house and rebuild an engine but plumbing is my nemesis.
Glad you got it fixed in timely fashion.
