RE: Need Help With 1999 Northland Polar 860 Extended Cab

I know this is old but I just purchased the same camper last week, my fresh water drain line is in the back kind of under the door. Do you happen to know the size of fresh water and black and gray tanks?

RE: Cost of accessories new camper

Not sure what kind of truck you have but i bought the torklift tie downs for my 2017 ram 2500 and installed them myself off of amazon for $600. It was actually pretty easy and bought the happy jack quick release for like $250 off amazon.

RE: Atwood Jacks Question

So you actually have to kind of rewire them for them to work with the gama wireless?

Atwood Jacks Question

I just purchased a 1999 northland 8.5 foot camper. It has electric atwood jacks but they are controlled differently. On one jack in the back there are two switches that extend or return which runs both jacks (one for passenger and one for drivers side) same goes for the front. Is there anyway to make the jacks run off of a remote somehow so I can just run them all at once instead of going back and forth or having someone help me? Possibly something like this? https://www.amazon.com/Atwood-85439/dp/B00R6HKNAM/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_263_t_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=0CRRK77QPHRC4QV8NRQQ

RE: 2017 Ram 2500- Airbag Question

Ordered them off amazon for 314 and will install my self. What did you order? Hopefully not the bags that go inside the coils. The best option is to install bags that replace the bump stops. I installed Timbrens like IdaD and they have worked extremely well. plus they give you an additional support location between the axle and frame for increased stability. I ordered the right ones for outside of coil.

2017 Ram 2500- Airbag Question

I have a 2017 ram 2500 with coil springs and im going to put airbags on it. Les schwab said they have air bags that go right in the middle of the coil spring and I have also seen pictures of air bags installed between the tire and coil spring. Is there an advantage to either one? Les schwab quoted me $498 installed for inside of spring but havent price check outside of springs.

RE: Downshift or exhaust brake?

Love my exhaust brake coming down passes pulling the trailer, usually dont even have to brake once, have to give it gas sometimes as its slowing down to much. 17 ram cummins

RE: My F250 finally bit me in the bu##

They all bite us eventually. My Ram got me twice in the last 6 months. Turbo went bad in October ($3,000 variable fin type of course) and I just got hit with the dreaded Dodge death wobble last week. Thankfully I wasn't towing. $2,000 going into front end parts on Monday. Still cheaper than a $75,000 replacement truck. I agree with your premise, but the bit about the $75,000 replacement truck feels like a stretch to make yourself feel better. You can get a modestly optioned gas truck for well under $40k in a 4wd/crew cab cab configuration, or a bit over $40k if you want diesel. You can check a bunch more boxes and work up to $75,000 but that's certainly not the entry point. I don't see me going to a tradesman level with no A/C and very few other amenities. And it has to be suitable for the fifth-wheel I currently have and would be looking ahead to the next one I would need. Lol, you must not have researched tradesmans before. I paid 43k for my new tradesman diesel long bed 4x4. Power windows, XM radio, Cruise, backup camera, exhaust brake and heck they even threw in heat and AC for me :)

RE: How well does the RAM 2500 6.4 Hemi tow?

I've seen all sorts of opinions about this one way or another. Here's my two cents. I had a brand new 1/2 ton ecodiesel. It was eight months old. I bought a travel trailer weighing in the 8000-8500# range. I towed it home from the dealer and traded the truck the next day. The ecodiesel struggled towing that much weight, not to mention, it did not have enough payload. I bought the 6.4 crew 4x4 with 3.73. It does NOT scream as others have suggested. It does NOT constantly shift as others have suggested. In tow haul, the top two gears are locked out. When in tow haul, it purrs along nicely at 2500 rpms. If I take it out of tow haul and just lock out 6th gear (in order to get an extra gear), it cruises along at 2000 rpms. Unless I'm climbing some hills, it doesn't shift back and forth. Does it pull as good as a diesel? No it will not, but I am more than happy with the way mine pulls and handles. Gas here is $1.89 and diesel is $2.99. I don't have to worry about DEF any more either. As far as maintenance goes, the diesel will cost more, contrary to other statements on this thread. The ecodiesel cost about $100 for the first oil change, and that was performing it myself as I always do. I don't even want to guess what the CTD would cost. I've always thought it would be nice to have a diesel truck, but after owning an ecodiesel (to get an idea of maintenance costs) and towing with my current 6.4, I'm not sure if I'd ever buy a diesel now. My 2017 Ram cummins with the oil change from the dealer was $89, how much is the full synthetic in the 6.4?

RE: Tell me your horror stories (Diesel)

2017 Ram 2500 6.7 with 17,000 miles and no issues. Been a great truck, loved pulling my 10k trailer 2300 miles with it this summer.

RE: Winterize ( heart attack ) please help

I dont even use the pink anti freeze, i blow out all the lines and dump the rv anti freeze down the goose necks and have never had a problem over 20 years with different trailers doing it this way.
