Let's make this perfectly CLEAR. The trans in the current GM's are only "BRANDED ALLISON". Makes me all warm and fuzzy.
RAM has a Chrysler trans and AISIN MD trans. Ford has its own HD trans. No smoke and mirrors with either of them. I have owned many GM trannies. Never had any issues with any of them. 2 allisons and still have one with no issues. Just my experience for many years.

I am assuming yours is actually built by Allison?
To be clear I am not saying anything bad about the current GM trans it's just a bit deceiving. yes 2001 8.1 3500 dually and the present 2005 duramax dually. Had two turbo 400's one for the 454 and the surprise was the 1986 light 1/2 ton with the V-6 and 2.53 rear gear. Kinda forgot if the 2.53 is correct but something like that and not a 3.73 for sure. Always seemed to be odd but it worked ok. chevman

Larry, some days I wish I was your age so I could get up and give zero forks about what happens to anything with the economy or worldwide!
Hopefully the mid terms next week will restore a bit of normalcy in coming months.
Right now, if Sleepy/Sniffy Joe won't buy erl from the Ruskys and doesn't quit selling our oil all while being anti pertroleum, chit could get pretty chort.
We are both heading for 82 but if my wife's health hadn't gone south we would be south to AZ before Sept ended. I really do care for what others need to have a happy life. Maybe it will happen next week.

The Nor Easters who still have their stinky oil burners in their homes are already down for about a 30% price hike to keep the frost in the freezer and the faucets thawed this winter....sad really, for people of power to intentionally try to tank their own economy...
But what do I know...took the dear wife for a followup appointment today from yet another major surgery and the PA had some funky blue haired wig on for Halloween. That's cool and in the spirit. Walked out into the hall afters and immediately offended a couple woke teenagers that only answered to "they or their" AND their mother when I said "Cool Halloween Costumes"
Apparently the Orange and Pink haired "theys" weren't dressed for Halloween and the boy's t!ts were real! :E

What surprises me is only 1/2 of what you looked at had issues, that tells me you didn't look hard enough. The RV Industry produces junk across the board. "High end" means nothing. The term Quality Control does not exist in the RV Industry's vocabulary except for BS they put on brochures and websites. The kicker is they've gotten worse over the last 2-4 years, which took a lot of work.
I agree about old news. I entered a tiffin MH years ago with a side door entry and first thing that caught my eye was a L shaped kitchen cabinet was so out of plumb the part on the driver's side was tight to the ceiling and went down quickly towards the front so the side on the inside wall matched the same issue. Touching at the bottom of the wall and big gap at the top. I have installed many cabinets, so I eye always looks for goof ups. I have helped MH friends' for year's repair inside issues and cheap was most of the reasons 20 winters of 6 month stays so I was a favorite of many. chevman

Back in the "DAY" I would have my local NAPA "ARCH" or "ARC" the brake shoes to exactly fit the turned drums radius.

We had a new dodge with good year wranglers' tires. At an rv park in Spokane the same truck as ours towing a fifth came next to us. his truck was full of heavy duty tools as he was going to repair road equipment. fifth was loaded so when he told me the good year wrangler tire were junk and only had 58K miles on them I looked and the tires looked great. lots of thread so maybe not as bad as he wanted them to be. Way overloaded truck. chevman

We travelled 1500 miles to home from Az in 2020 with my wife in the alpenlite. she thought it was awesome and enjoyed the ride. air hitch and trailer air suspension might be the reason. Not how we wanted to travel but no choice.

Always thought that was illegal, but I checked and sure enough it's legal in most states.
Nothing is illegal for the USA at this time. for us it was May 2020 and the traffic was very light though Vegas and Boise. Chinese virus was the reason for low traffic. chevman

I had a new 1986 chev 1/2 ton with the V-6 and 4 barrel carb a 400 turbo trannie and a rear diff of 2.73. Seemed to be odd but was ok for my work truck.

I rotated the tires on our 2001 chev dually at our rv park using the spare in the deal. never did it again and on the 05 never rotated with no weird tire wear i bought new tires at 5 year each time. Also same on our 2001 alpenlite fifth. maybe lucky ?? chevman
