RE: Florida Plates; How to Prove We haven't Been There Lately.

I would keep all my gas receipts and any other receipts you may have in case they are needed to prove where you have been. Just put them all in a big envelope in the vehicle somewhere.

You could also fill the hole and put a reflector on the outside of the 5th wheel with caulk around it.

RE: Route 50 from Winchester VA to Chillicothe OH

That would be a tough drive with a 38' motorhome. Many hills, twists and turns. We just drove through some of in in WV in a car. Nice drive, beautiful, but I would not want to do in towing or in a MH.

RE: Poor quality/returning trailers

Document everything, print the list of repairs needed. Take extensive pictures. Take it back to the Dealer you bought it from. You sound like you do not want to tow it to return it out of state but you need to do that regardless. Suck it up and take it back there. Hand them the list of repairs. Be polite. Being rude or aggressive will not help. You must take it back to the dealer and allow them to attempt to make the repairs first. When you drop it off, get a signed Work Order of what you want done and keep it for your files.

RE: Closed bathrooms at national parks

We went to our State park and they had Porta-potties. They were nice and clean, except some inconsiderate MORON stuffed several blue grocery store bags full of trash into the toilet!

RE: The camping industry is going to be hit hard

I hope I'm wrong, but. I don't see anything "opening up" until after the November election. There are way too many people in government who are happy with the situation. They are getting lots of TV time. People are hanging on their every word and decision. They get to go on a dictatorial power trip while the public sits at home and waits on their government check to save the day. It's also shocking how many people are so willing to let the government take away their rights, their job, their business, etc. just so they don't get sick. This virus has something like a 98% or 99% recovery rate. I'll take those odds all day long over the joblessness, bankruptcies, and foreclosures that will lead to alcohol abuse and suicides. I really hope I'm wrong but the media whipped up such a scare for the people that the government was able to swoop in and implement things that would have never been allowed under normal circumstances. I don't see "normal life" coming back without a fight from the American people and I'm not sure many have the fight in them. I hope I'm wrong. Where the HE!! are you getting your news? NO WAY WILL TRUMP let this go on. I will bet things "start" opening May 1. I like Trump. But, Trump hasn't closed anything. All these shut downs are by the individual state governors. CA, NY, MI, VA, MD, NJ, IL, WI, PA, WA, OR are all Democrat governors. They don't care what Trump wants. Totally agree. And I do not think people are going to listen for much longer to these Democrats. We need to open business and make money. And I do not want another $2 trillion plus in printed up money full of Pork Bills that have nothing to do with this virus. They had better start to Line Item Veto the Budgets, all of them. Inflation will catch up with this never ending spending. Open up our economy. Open up business on May 1st. They can't arrest us all. And I think it should open to locals in the area only for the first 2 weeks, then do an assessment. Many rural areas have little to no cases, let them open up. Keep the travel ban on, no travel outside your city or area. No travel out of high hit areas NY, CA, OR, WA, FL, LA, etc. until a 2 week assessment is done. The Mayors know their towns and cities, they should be reaching out to the Governor of their State and get a plan in effect NOW to open their districts with their rules and guidelines to do so. Let the Mayors take charge of their community.

RE: Problems with past RV Parks you've stayed at?

Loud outside TV's and Music And becoming a bigger problem. Now with just about every RV having a outside entertainment center everyone gotta turn it up so everyone else hears it. Our only camp out this year had to ask the neighbor to turn it down. They were playing some modern rock music with really foul language and that thump thump bass sound that vibrate! Yep, I know. I now bring a portable radio. Put it under the RV, blast it towards the neighbor. Go inside, watch TV. They don't like it, they get the message and turn their noise off! Whatever idiot came up with putting TV's and speakers outside needs to be …. well, I can't say here. Another park I was at the TV was blasting and nobody outside! They were all inside. Quite frankly put that in the rules to "ban" all that noise. Should be use headphones only. That noise travels far. No one wants to hear it.

How to cut Mens Hair I watched about 6 U-tube videos on how to cut Mens Hair and also the Wahl website. We just replaced the old Wahl clippers before this virus lock down hit. Cut DH hair last night with clippers and scissors for the 1st time. It came out really good. He said I will be cutting his hair from now on.

RE: US Closes Mexican and Canadian borders

If its just that easy to stop illegals from coming across the border, why do we need a Wall?? Just tell them the law says they can't cross. If you get stranded in Mexico. just follow the crowd and come on across through one of the tunnels. They should be directed to go to their Embassy or Consulate and ask for travel assistance back home. No matter if they cross from Canada, which they are doing, or from Mexico. If we are in a foreign country and we need help, we go to our Embassy. This is a North and South illegal entry problem now. No more entry without legal, proper, documentation or you will not get in. Return over the first border they illegally crossed and that country can direct them to their Embassy there. This has got to stop and U.S. taxpayers are not their Travel Agent to pay for hundreds of thousands of airline tickets back home every year. This policy has got to end. That should be their Consulate or Embassies responsibility to provide the transportation costs. Maybe then this will stop if they start footing the bill. If they do not cooperate and pay these costs then stop issuing the Visas to these countries.

RE: Don't come to Massachusetts

Eric&Lisa…. "Pretty sure that is not how Gift Certificates work from an accounting standpoint. The company needs to hold those funds 'on the books' and cannot spend them on expenses until they are redeemed. If I buy a $20 gift certificate, the accountant credits $20 to the bank account. But in issuing the GC, they also have to enter a debit for "We owe Eric $20 worth of cheeseburgers". Buying GC's does not go in a restaurant's nightly income on their balance sheet." ----------------------- The gift certificates are bought in cash or credit card. That is revenue on the books when they are sold. They do not "hold" this revenue account until the Gift Certificate is redeemed. So are you saying if I bought a $50 gift certificate and I never redeemed it or it expired. That is not $50 bucks in the revenue? Of course it is. What do they do with the $50 gift certificate that was never redeemed? Throw the cash in the trash? Gift Certificates are not returnable. It is money in the bank. When it is redeemed it is debited from previous accrued income against the net revenue for the month. It is revenue when purchased. If you sell $5,000 in cheeseburges and redeem $1,000 in cheesburger gift certificates then you have a NET of $4,000 income for that financial period (month). Well, golly. Many years ago in a career far away I was a restaurant general manager. I never got to count my Gift Certificates sold for my nightly sales. Let's think this through... Tonight I sell you a $20 gift certificate. You give me a $20 bill. I give you a certificate (functionally currency) for $20 in product redeemable at my establishment. Tomorrow you come in and redeem it for $20 in cheeseburgers. When do I get to count the "sale"?? Is it the day I exchanged $20 for the certificate? Or the day I exchanged the certificate for cheeseburgers? I don't get to count both as I didn't really get the money in twice. Keep in mind, I only really have expenses on the 2nd transaction where I have to give up meat, buns, and special sauce. I guess we can keep debating account practices and continue to disagree. Or we can seek an outside reference.... LMGTFY -Eric You do not count the money twice. The $20 is cashflow and counted as sales. You spend the money. Are you going to just put the $20 under the mattress until the certificate is redeemed? No. That transaction gets recorded on P&L as a $20 gift certificate purchase. When redeemed it gets recorded on the P&L as $20 gift certificate redeemed. They offset each other on the P&L. Any business can be shut down and file bankruptcy. So should everybody stop buying gift certificates from Lowe's, Applebee's, Bed & Bath? And those people who hold those certificates would be in line for the refunds through the court too. That is the "risk" you take.

RE: Don't come to Massachusetts

Someone posted on FB to support your local restaurants by buying Gift Certificates, to keep revenue going, that you can use later. Great idea. Pretty sure that is not how Gift Certificates work from an accounting standpoint. Buying GC's does not go in a restaurant's nightly income on their balance sheet. The only way this helps is you are promising to do business with them when they re-open. And if they fold and don't re-open, guess where Gift Certificates are in the 'who we owe money to' bankruptcy list. My guess... Some restaurants which are already hurting will be impacted. COVID is just putting them over the edge, it really could have been anything else. But I'll bet a lot of them innovate with special take-out menus, delivery, etc. I suspect some of them may take the opportunity to do some deferred maintenance - fresh paint, clean carpets, etc. Stuff that would normally disrupt operations and close all/some of the business may get done. As far as I can tell, this is just an order to close restaurants/bars to being open for dining operations. There is nothing telling restaurant owners they can't have their wait-staff show up at work and do maintenance/deep cleaning (ie: earning a paycheck). If the kitchen staff is busy filling take-out orders, then things may be a little lean for everyone involved, but it is not a complete lights-out. This is not a situation where the government is closing all restaurants and ordering the employees to be permanently laid off. -Eric Cash flow and revenue recognition are two different things. Yes, the company can use the funds. Yes, it will not be recognized as revenue on the P&L until it is redeemed. So purchasing gift cards does help cash flow. The risk as a purchaser is will the company be in business in the future to redeem. Correct. It is cash flow and that cash will be spent. And correct, it will be recorded the month they sold the gift certificate on the P&L and will be recorded in the month is was redeemed on the P&L.

RE: Don't come to Massachusetts

Someone posted on FB to support your local restaurants by buying Gift Certificates, to keep revenue going, that you can use later. Great idea. Not really. Read the first post from Eric&Lisa. In short you just shift the issue out a few months. There may be some cushioning as more will be going out but overall it won't help a whole lot. Best option to help is if they do take-out or delivery take advantage. Our plan is to still eat out until they tell us we can't. As one of our favorite restaurants does take-out I'll still be able to get my favorite baked mac n cheese! They should be using all opportunities and marketing ideas they can. This Virus is not a one-size-fits-all solution to all businesses and the many problems this is causing the entire country. Gift Certificate Promotion Take Out Delivery Maintenance during down time

RE: Don't come to Massachusetts

There should be NO corporate bail outs to the fat cat companies who make billions in the airlines, cruise lines, Disneyland, etc. in the COVID-19 BILL. They now EXPECT the taxpayers to bail them out all the time and they know it. They need to start having a Business Plan that includes 60 days of operating costs put in "escrow" for emergency funding. That is on them. These companies need to stop bankrolling the multi-million dollar CEO's and Board Members, and lining their Parachute, and retirement plans with billions of their company dollars! They are loaded and need to stop depending on the government to bail them out. It is our money and this needs to stop. This will not be the last crisis this country faces, it is only the beginning with what is to come. Think 9/11. No more bail outs. The free ride is over. Help our State and National Parks right now, not the fat cats!

RE: Don't come to Massachusetts

Steve Mnuchin should be looking at UMEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE as a "temporary" solution to sick pay for those who are truly sick with COVID-19. This is not a permanent solution and should only apply to COVID-19. With record low unemployment, thousands more have paid into the program and should be plenty of funds. Not everybody is sick. These workers have alrady paid in to that benefit! Let them tap into it, it is their money. No more billion dollar bail out bills or making employers pay these costs. What about the employees who did have "sick time" and use it the minute they earn it and were not sick? We all know people who do this. That is not fair to those who saved their sick days for when they need it and will now be using their time up. So the ones who had the days and used it for no reason now get a free paycheck? That is not fair.
