We are fixing to travel from Fl to AZ. Any good places to stay or avoid would be appreciated.

RE: Help with full timing over the winter

Thanks Mr Ed, would you have the name to that mobile home park in Tuscon? Also, to Ghooos, I think that ship has sailed.

Recommedations

Hello All, After Thankgiving we will begin our trek from Florida to Arizona. What I'd like to know is if anyone has any places between the 2 or in Arizona that are things "not to miss". Sights to see, places to stay, nice campground, and also places to stay away from. This part of the country is fairly new for us so any opinions are welcome.

I think you've covered it Bill, but you forgot, one thing, there is no vertical relief either.

RE: Help with full timing over the winter

Well its amazing, I actually did answer your question but looking back the post is not here. There is nothing wrong with Florida besides I lived there for 20 some years and spent winter there 2 years ago and that's about all of Florida we can take. We want somewhere new and different.Had more detail in the post that's not here.

To Barbara and others who stayed in AZ. How do you find places? Maybe not just regular campgrounds, but in Fla. we happened upon a few places that had mostly park models with some rv temp sights mixed in. Do they have those in AZ? Is there a website to use to find these? Sorry, but I know nothing about AZ.

Help with full timing over the winter

We have been on a search for a home in the northeast and have come up empty. We are running out of time and will probably have to escape here till spring next year. We spent winter in Florida a few years ago and I wont get my husband back down there for anything, so in my mind the only other place to winter would be west, maybe Arizona? Love to hear advice on where to go and how to get somewhere to park. We don't mind floating from place to place for the 6 months or so, not sure I want to be parked the whole time in one place anyways, but have no clue where to go or how to find places to stay months or weeks at a time. Mind you we are doing this in a small travel trailer, so it not quite as fun and great as it sounds. Any help, advice or suggestions would be appreciated, not looking forward to this at all. Thanks in advance.

RE: Need Help on how to get health insurance while traveling

We have a mail service in Florida, we have no other address at the moment. I'm told to be able to use our mail service address as a residence I have to get a fla. drivers license and register and insure my vehicles in Florida. Not changing my vehicles since they are registered with my LLC. My thought was to rent a room somewhere in Florida to use the address and then try to get a policy. Why would I have to have a vehicle registered in the state just to get insurance if I had an address. This whole thing has made it very difficult because as far as I know, I am only covered now for emergency rooms. When they move you out of the emergency room, your NOT covered anymore. This worries me on a daily basis.

I just want coverage in our states. I wouldn't dream of having any in another country when we cant even cover our people in our own continent.

RE: Need Help on how to get health insurance while traveling

Thank you Rice for all the info. We are in Colorado but getting ready to leave. So are you saying for health insurance your mail service address is enough for these companies? I'd thought we tried that a few years ago and the first one to complain were the banks. They seemed to know it was a mail service and said it was not good enough. We do use a mail service in Florida. Maybe we'll try to see if it would work for a Fla Blue policy. Not alot of people think about the fact that when they are on vacation or traveling, THEY ARE NOT COVERED. I think its just when you get older you worry about that stuff more, although I think the system in this country is pretty poor that you only get covered in your home state, weather you have one or not. Its sad!!!!
