If Stargate and Star Trek were merged. The hieroglyphs next to Picard translate to "shut up, Wesley."

RE: 2022 campgrounds

I would keep an eye out for more cancellations this year. I think a lot of the reservations were booked 6-9 months ago before higher prices became such an issue.
Double ditto.

RE: Peach cobbler

Glad you brought up this easy peasy recipe. Double ditto on the yellow cake mix. Put in a pinch of cinnamon too.
We put butter on the bottom as well. If we have fresh blackberries or blueberries those go in too. You can dress this puppy nine ways to Sunday and get something tasty every time: except for olives or garlic.:B

RE: Fire, Cast Iron, and Soot

Welcome to the Cast Iron Chef world. We enjoy it.
We use a wet paper towel to wash and wipe off the soot then stow it. No big deal. Then we toss the paper towel into the fire pit to burn. The sand is a good idea if you are boondocking and don't have a water connection.
Cast iron is tough. The only thing you need to be cautious about is to avoid running cold water over a hot pot or pan. The temperature shock will crack it.
Don't let the myths running around the internet run your life when it comes to cast iron. You can use metal utensils and chain-mail scrubbers on it, just don't use chisels and hammers.

RE: Homeless Cat -- Now Spotacus' Legacy

Thanks for the titles. I'll keep an eye out for them. Here's a thought: create an article for the local newspapers on the proper care and feeding of deer. Share the best nutrition tips etc. Maybe do a quick PSA for your county's FB page.
Sounds like Czarny needs his own stroller so he doesn't trip his mom while on walkabout.

You can camp right next to Fontana Dam at Fontana Village Campground.
Nice place; clean though not fhu. Electric and water HU with a dump station. One of our favorite quiet spots.

RE: Back on the road again. And Florida Parks reservations

May your travels be free of trouble and enjoyable. Those "bots" that have been mentioned are part of the problem with reservations disappearing. I've noticed that some reservation systems are now using the verification that you are a real person by clicking on photos, etc. I don't mind the extra 2 seconds it takes to do that because it keeps the reservations free of problematic bots.

RE: Homeless Cat -- Now Spotacus' Legacy

I'm sorry to hear about the fawns failing. Those rolling walkers are great. When Herself needed a walker post-surgery she picked out one that she called her 4 wheel drive. She could take it anywhere and loved it.
So what are your book titles? I'm wanting some fresh reading materials.

RE: Seeking Simple RV Recipes

It's even better if you make the gravy from scratch, from the cooked sausage drippings. Little more time consuming but, well worth it.
Sofive0’s “Basic Sausage Gravy & Biscuits” sounds great!

Cardiovascular surgeon in the family??:B :B
Some great suggestions posted. Here's hoping bacon is less than Oh My Gawd!!!/lb before party time.
We don't have cholesterol issues in our family. To prepare for this annual event, I usually buy up various brands of bacon throughout the year and freeze it. Sticker shock won't hit us this year because it's already in the freezer at cheaper prices. :W
