Jambalaya Cooker

Pulled out my King Cooker and Jambalaya pot rig for a big batch of jambalaya yesterday. It's been awhile since we had some. Leftovers have been frozen in portions to take on trips in the mh. If you're interested, here's a vid on my cooker rig. It's too big for stowing in the mh but makes for a great at home gathering. Have even cooked the haggis in it. King Cooker & Jambalaya Pot

RE: What is It?

I think it's the top half of a cake ball pan/mold... https://www.cakecentral.com/tutorial/39221/make-polka-dot-surprise-inside-cakeAfter going to that link, I'd say we have a winner. Yep.

RE: What is It?

A "holey" pan? My first thought was Ebelskiver or Abelskiver pan but those do not have holes. Maybe an egg poacher pan that sits inside another pan filled with water for the oven?

RE: Dollar General grocery?

I’ve never seen a DG grocery store. I do use DG a lot for 1 or 2 grab and go items when I don’t want to fight the crowd at WM or Kroger. I compared some of our basic items with the Walmart and Kroger prices. DG beat them every time, even on the name brand stuff. When we use the coupons we can get our fave laundry detergent for $2-3 less than Walmart and $3.50 less than Kroger. We don't have an Aldi's nearby so DG has been our go-to for a lot of items. Some of my favorite DG finds have been kitchen items. I bought silicone spatulas and basters at 5 for only a $1.00 there about a month ago.

Great news! There are good VAs around and some not as good. I'm glad you're making progress. God bless ya.

RE: Dollar General grocery?

I live in the country, I mean 22mi to little town. BUT--3 years ago they put a DG within walking distance of my house, with produce. That's great. I'm happy they carry SPAM and BACON. Herself is happy they have almond milk, eggs and other items. I like the fact they have digital coupons that you can go to the website and download to your phone number. Then at checkout you enter your number and get the coupon credited. It's great to not have to cart around clipped coupons especially when we're on the road.

Dollar General grocery?

In our travels we're seeing a number of "expanded" DGs with a respectable grocery selection. Herself can even buy her almond milk. Some of them are pretty good sized. Still don't have a fresh produce section but that's okay. They have coffee, bread, eggs, frozen pizza, canned goods, cereals even frozen dinners if that's your thing. The prices are competitive especially if using their online digital coupons. Just sharing.

RE: Overnight

Call the Starke Walmart first to see if you can still overnight there. We're seeing a lot of Walmarts that now have "no overnighting" signs. Must be an insurance issue.

RE: Homeless Cat -- Now Spotacus' Legacy

Sorry to hear about the damage. We escaped pretty much unscathed here. Now we have temps in the 70s. It will cool down again next week. I'm trying to get hedges trimmed before then.

RE: CG in Brooksville Fl

If you're not into dump stations then Campers Holiday is going to be your best bet. It's only about 15 minutes from downtown Brooksville. Here's their contact info so you can ask if children are okay. Campers Holiday Contact Personally I think the sites are too close together for my tastes. When I camp I don't want to feel like I'm in a parking lot.

RE: CG in Brooksville Fl

Try Withlacoochee State Forest-Croom Tract's Silver Lake Campground located about 20 minutes (13-14 miles) east of Brooksville (only 5 minutes from I-75). Thanks, I should have mentioned we will be there over a week and need full hookups. I’ve stayed there for two weeks. When I needed to use the dump station it was easy to roll to the ds and then back to my site. They have the essentials at the site water and electric.

Tow Behind Cooker

Came across this nice little rig. I could hook it up to the mh and have a massive cookout for the family reunion. Carolina Pig Cookers I know what I want for Christmas. It's hog killing time.
