RE: Here we go again yet another Trombetta "Big Boy" failure!

I had 3 different brands of so called smart relays to charge my truckcamper house batteries from my truck only when the engine was running. They all failed in different ways The last one was a Cole-Hersey which failed closed while the truck was shut down with the camper off the truck. It drained both chassis batteries and the solenoid was smoking hot. Fortunately this happened while I was home. No more automatic (smart??) relays for me. I'll use a manual disconnect from now on. My solar will keep the house batteries charged up most of the time anyway.

RE: Northern Lite truck to camper cord

K5kid, you can raise and lower it with the handcrank on each jack, one at a time. Just be careful to do it somewhat evenly on each corner. -Mark.

RE: NEED HELP MECHANICAL ISSUE (possibly transmission)

I used to have a 79 Winny on a dodge chassis like you have. If you look closely where the rod along the steering column connects to the pivot point at the lower end there is an offset pin which goes into a bushing. This bushing wears until the hole is too big to allow proper movement to the arm on the transmission. The solution is to replace the bushing. I had to make one out of a piece of steel tubing. You'll probably need help. I would try a Dodge dealer or a good independent shop. Good luck. -Mark.

RE: Mh propane capacity discrepency

Quite often you are getting a blend of propane and butane. Butane while richer in energy (BTU's) boils at a lower temperature therefore the pressure at any given temperature will be lower than propane. If you fill at a place very far south in the wintertime you may have a butane rich gas that will not have enough vapor pressure if you drive far north to use it. This has happened to people who fill in Mexico and then drive to high altitude in January.

RE: Solar and Charger into one?

I never go on the road without triangles AND flares and I don't even tow. Have used them a few times for other folks in trouble. -Mark.
