RE: Solar Panels- Wired in Series vs. Parallel question

mchero, I think nobody cares to read the full thread anymore. Incorrect Thanks for the link Solarenergy5. Will be helpful for others reading this thread.

I have now tested the limit switch and it is closed as it should be. I have also tested the off/reset switch and have resistance when it is on reset and have no resistance when it is off which should also be correct. I do have 12 volts to the board, so am I to suppose I need to replaced the circuit board at this point do you reckon? You stated the sail switch is closed "as it should be" My Atwood 8531 sail switch is normally open when the furnace is not running. When the thermostat calls for heat one of the pre checks is looking for an open circuit on the sail switch. If it's found closed the board goes into lockout. No fan, nothing. 3rd poster provided a link, open link and scroll down to the wiring schematic. Sail Switch N.O. (normally open). Any diagnostic codes from the ignitor board? Even a failing sail switch can look good using a volt meter. My rear furnace would occasionally not run when calling for heat. Dyno board flashing a sail switch closed error. I pulled sail switch and it tested good. Purchased sail switch, installed and now furnace starts when called for heat.

RE: Changing Atwood water heater plug to brass

We just had a thread on that, where ISTR the pros said it was a bad idea due to brass and aluminum issues. The rear of my Atwood GE16EXT hot water heater has brass fittings into the aluminium tank. No problems since 2007.

Time to reorder some LED bulbs

Some of our 12vdc LED's are starting to give me issues. I think my best bet is a 5 or 10 pack. Walking into C.W. and purchasing 5 of the bulbs can get costly. Where are others ordering on-line? I'm looking for white/bright leds for the overhead lights. A Google search reveals too many results! BA9 style base

RE: running fridge in cold weather?

Coke and Pepsi machines do NOT have heaters in them. Been maintaining these machines for the last two years. We full time in our rig. Norcold 4 door worked w/o issues even when temps well below freezing this6 last winter. I restrict the vents on the outside cover during winter. Previous poster mentioned the mess exploding cans create, that's nothing compared to a ice cream freezer loosing power, ice cream melting all over the inside then power is restored freezing the melted mess. Time to break out the steam cleaner!

RE: Stabil or Seafoam for long term gas can storage?

I see a product up here called TrueFuel. Ethanol free. Also sells a 2 stroke fuel. Never used it but seriously considering.

RE: Winter camping

Odd, I full time and on my 2nd NH winter. Heated Hose works just fine connected to a winter faucet (Lift Type) thats heat taped. Running rigid PVC to sewer connection. Supplemental heat in wet bay Never a problem last winter and expect the same this winter.

RE: Strange house battery issue

That converter should be getting 120 volts on the AC side thus charging your batteries. Check for a tripped breaker or blown fuse. If getting power and charging the batteries you should hear it humming.

RE: norcold ice maker

I'd download the service manual for your fridge. My Norcold 4 door has both icemaker and indoor water. My ice maker quit and i found the replacement at Lowes. MUCH CHEAPER that ordering from Norcold. Service manual is also very informative.
