RE: Corona Virus and RV Travel Video

You might have to buy it in a bigger bottle or more smaller ones in a case but I have found distribution companies have plenty of hand sanitizer if they allow walk in sales.

RE: Tie downs

For back road slow travels to get a camper home ratchet straps can be a temporary solution if you are not traveling far. The next step up is brophy turnbuckles, but still not a great option for newer trucks with light truck beds. The best is either happyjac or torklift for safety.

RE: First TC Rally

I would like to know if the tag axle camper did the Bradshaw Trail?

RE: Over weight? Does it bother you?

It bothered me enough to upgrade to a DRW for mine. Now I can enjoy the ride. I also have kids and a wife with me, if it was just me it might be different.

RE: Front Hitch receiver F-250

This is pics of mine on my old 250 and now on the 350, I am guessing it is close to yours. I need to put turnbuckles on it so it doesn't rock so much, I have them on my work bench just never took the time to put hooks on the front hitch rod holder.

RE: you like Torklift StableLoads? / Upper, lower or BOTH?

On my 250 the lower worked good, on my 350 the upper worked good, depends on the setup. For you I would wait and see how it rides first, the uppers are easy to install after the fact if needed.

RE: Truck Camper with Built in Genset?

There is something about rolling out of bed in your underwear and hitting that generator switch to make coffee in the morning while out in the middle of no where scratching my butt and admiring nature.

RE: Your favorite features.

I love watching the solar controller feed me with free power during the day.

RE: Leveler blocks used as recovery boards

I have seen recovery boards shoot out from under a tire, was glad I was not behind it, needs some grip on the bottom and the top.

RE: My Folding Porch

I like that idea of a folding porch, not see that before. It gets it out of the way while traveling. Looks like it blocks half the stop light/turn signal however, might be a liability in that sense. If you do any camping on the beach a porch is a much needed option, being able to get the sand off before entering the camper helps a lot with cleanup. Also on some designs its a great place to store your grill and wood. If you are older you can add a handrail to the steps and don't allow drunk ppl on your rig. I have seen some add LED lights around the porch so you can see it better at night.

RE: Rear Porch

Not really certain the feasibility of a “porch”. It would be extremely challenging to build something large enough to use that folds up and isn’t obtrusive. Having a porch is awesome, especially if you are at the beach and have a rear door camper. Not that hard to build one either, my friend bought an aluminium floating dock for jet skis and removed the floats and installed hinges to the back bumper of his 1181 and installed straps to the rear jacks for support, he can fold it up easily and roll out, he installed brake lights on the bottom of the porch so when it folds up he doesn't lose that.

RE: Why aren't Truck Campers popular in W. Pa.?

He claimed it was good for a 3/4 ton sw truck. I was skeptical. Am I wrong? Come down to the beach, SRW's galore carrying more weight than that while out on soft sand in 4x4. Now should it be done that is the question, I answered it for myself by upgrading to a DRW.

Custom Truck Camper All I have to say is WOW, looks like my 1191 but has some features I would love to have on mine. Love the storage spaces, not to crazy about the rear tent but I think it is better than Lances option.

RE: Eh Weight Police!

That is not overweight, that is just plain stupidity. He deserved the ticket with that home rigged setup. That is just reckless.

RE: F350 Dually, anyone upgrade to F450 springs?

I would be interested in hearing how that upgrade goes.

RE: New owner to a early 80's slide in

I had to redo the roof on an older shadow cruiser, not much to the roofs other than Styrofoam and 1/8" plywood and a 1/8" ceiling board. I actually deleted some wiring and installed battery powered lights, less holes. Here is a link to my install:

RE: Anyone ever try the Traction pads for a Truck Camper

I got THESE back in 2015 and they have worked great, use them in the sand if I need help getting out of a rut. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another set.
