RE: MHS Motor Home Specialist

Mr. Mark, one of our members here, I believe sold his coach through them. His experience was good IIRC. You might reach out to him for more info....Dennis I was interested in his coach before he listed it, but was out of my price range. I thought he listed it with MOT. Motor homes of Texas

RE: Toad damage from road debris.

From reading on here seems people take off the big flap in the back. It’s been said it kicks the rocks up. I still have mine on and have no intention of taking it off.

RE: JEEP as TOAD

That link is for the JK but the website states that it is NOT rated for towing. I also checked the same bumper for the 2020 Gladiator and it also says it's not rated for flat towing. Other than that it is a nice looking bumper. The Rugged Ridge bumpers that are rated for flat towing are in the $800 range... Well yes I posted a jk bumper because the op said he had a 2016 wrangler. All wranglers from 2007-2018 are jk’s. As far as the gladiator I don’t know were you are going with that. One other thing those “hooks” on the stock bumper are recovery hooks and used to pull you out when stuck 4wheeling and each one is rated at 5500lbs so technically you could tow it with one hook.

RE: JEEP as TOAD

The rugged ridge bumper I linked to is the one on the white wrangler I posted a picture of,it is mine and has been pulled all over the last few years. The tabs are bolted to the frame in the red circle. I also believe it’s a lawyer thing. I guess you need to decide what your comfort level is. https://i.imgur.com/gmjmQyyl.jpg This is my old wrangler with $50.00 tow brackets that I pulled with for 15 years. Again bolted to frame. https://i.imgur.com/3Fgc2OZl.jpg

RE: JEEP as TOAD

A lot of people say to just get a new front bumper - if you're on a budget that's hardly a viable option. Blue Ox base plates run around $450 - a bumper capable of towing is twice that, and then you need to get the appropriate clevis to connect to the tow bar. I'll stick with the Blue Ox base plate! Not true. I’m using the bumper I supplied a link to above it’s $385 with the tabs and looks a hell of a lot better than the stock one.

RE: JEEP as TOAD

Just put a after market bumper on like THIS Transmission in park, transfer case in neutral, key in your pocket no steering wheel lock on a 2016,I use a Brake Buddy without a charge line and never had a issue. Hopkins makes a very simple plug and play wire kit. https://i.imgur.com/7Ob6iJPl.jpg

RE: Synthetic Trans Fluid

IMO, doing two changes back to back is a total waste of money. With the first change from Dexron to Transynd, Allison's recommendation is merely to follow the change schedule for Dexron. Yes, with the second change using Transynd, you go to the much longer service schedule allowed for Transynd. I agree it’s a waste of $$ i was just bringing to attention that after one change you are not on the extended interval. I switched to Transynd but only did one change so no extended interval for me. Just hate to see someone switch to Transynd do one change thinking they are all set for life and ruin their very expensive trans.

RE: Synthetic Trans Fluid

Right now your on regular trans maintenance schedule. To be able to go to the full tes 295 schedule you are suppose to drain trans fluid fill with tes 295 drive 30 miles drain trans fluid change filters and refill with tes 295. Where did this come from, the drive 30 miles? From this guy Hi Folks, My name is Tom Johnson and I was the former Transmission Fluids Engineer at Allison Transmission from 1990 until my retirement in 2009. I am a member of the Good Sam Club Class A motorhome forum and one of the members asked me to join the IRV2 forums. I'm here to help with your questions about Allison Transmission fluid specifications, TranSynd, oil and coolant analysis, etc. Let me know how I can help. PS: You can call me "Mr. TranSynd" if you like.. JimR Quote: Originally Posted by monarchman53 View Post My '03 Allison 1000 has 25000 miles on it and I would like to change it over to TranSynd. How far do I need to drive it after the initial change before draining and filling the second time. Also do I need to use two filters (one for each change) or one? If one, do I change at first or second fill? Thanks, Rod Monarchman53, Drive it around for maybe 1/2 hour just to be sure it's shifted through all the gears and warmed up. You just want to circulate it through the torque converter and cooling system. You don't need to wait any longer than that before doing the second drain and refill. I don't believe it matters much on the filter but, to make it easy, just change it before the second refill. That should do it for another 150,000 miles.

RE: RV Dealers on Florida and Southern Georgia

I purchased mine at Eagles Pride in Titusville its in the great outdoors rv resort. everything was perfect and could not have gone smoother. Al was awesome. At the gate tell them you are going to the rv sales and once in you can drive all around. we saw a bunch of rvs at the sites and in the homes that had for sale signs on them.

RE: Venting Indoors

x2 on all other drains being capped and traps filled with water. extend rv vent to outside. I would just use some cheap light weight dryer vent hose.
