RE: Tesla Semi truck unveil & test ride set for Oct 26th !

First, private jet flying is a legitimate beef as far as climate change. Rockets, that is ill informed. The exhaust is just water vapor. Liquid oxygen mixed with liquid hydrogen, H2O. But when cooled to -300 degrees, creates an awesome explosion. Here is a fun Read:

RE: Tire cables or chains

We go skiing in Mammoth & Tahoe every year. Had to put chains on the Motorhome's 5 times over the past 30 years. Used link chains as they were the cheapest and never had to use them for more than 10 miles. Kept speed down to below 35 mph. YOU WILL GET WET!! I lay down on a blue tarp and wear ski pants. Not hard, but practice beforehand. It will be a rough ride.

RE: building new campground

There are numerous consultants by doing a Google search, it can be expensive for a consultant, but they will tell you if it is feasible.

RE: Emergency escape thoughts...

In 1995 saw a class A roll in Idaho. Driver fell asleep and over corrected when they hit the rumble strips. Multiple drivers stopped with rescue, we walked them out the front windshield as it had disintegrated. I was surprised no one was hurt from the falling cabinets.

RE: Leavenworth, WA recommendations?

When we are in the area, we stay down the road. Nearby is a good tour of the Applets & Cotlets factory.

RE: Help finding nightly parking for our caravan

When we owned a campground, we had a visit from a traveling zoo and several people with horses. They called ahead, and we made sure we had enough room available for them. Never a problem.

RE: Do we or don't we?

I recommend that you sit down with a financial planner to help your sort through all of this. I agree that working until you are at least 66 would be the best thing for you. Ask, around for suggestions for a financial planner, or I have had pretty good luck with Charles Schwab. As far as investments/savings, you need to sock away 20% of your income into Index funds. I like Vanguard 500 Index fund or Schwab 500 Index funds.

RE: Our good friends got a new Cedar Creek...

I would recommend you not hire a lawyer right away, but start researching someone who is familiar with Lemon Laws in their State. Once the mfg. decides the best way to handle repair the unit, I would negotiate a longer warranty period in the case of delamination in the area that has been rained on.

RE: Easter Sierras Advice Needed--RV Parks and Sites to See

A Good place to start is with RV Park Reviews. That area is beautiful area to explore. We like Lee Vining, Ca Also, Bodie Ghost Town, Virginia Lakes, Touloumne Meadows, Devil's Postpile, visit Convict Lake. In Lee Vining we always stop at for a meal: Bishop, Ca has Eric Schat's Bakery, parking across the street in the city park. Without a tow vehicle you can drive from Lone Pine, Ca to see the Bristle Cone Pine Forest. there is also a Western Movie Museum in Lone Pine as well as a drive up to Whitney Portal.

RE: Electric Vehicles? Towing? Hauling?

We have two Tesla's and love them. Whenever a software update is available, the cars automatically download and install the updates. The Car's are also able to communicate with the "Mothership" to provide Tesla with information about the car and our driving profiles. It would be easy for the car to self report miles driven automatically, and the taxing authority could use this data to collect "road use" taxes. Additionally, Tesla's cannot be unplugged unless the "FOB" is nearby.

RE: Yellowstone park entrance/exit

Going from Yellowstone, there is 5 miles of a steep grade. Just took it slow with a 36 Ft Class A and tow car. Once you get outside of the park, it is not a bad grade. In Cody, the museum is amazing but we took a tour out to the BLM land to see the wild Mustangs. That was a highlight of our trip.

RE: Tesla Semi truck unveil & test ride set for Oct 26th !

We own two Tesla's. A Model S and a Model X. Great vehicles, but there has been some delay when I needed to get some warranty work done. Almost a two month wait for an appointment. We have used the mobile tech service three times with excellent results. the difference with Tesla and other car companies is no dealerships, thus Tesla is upfronting all of the costs for the stores, and service centers. Then Tesla is continuing to build out the Supercharger Network, with them paying for the install. Somewhere I read that 8 Superchargers cost $125,000 to build. Map of the supercharger network:

RE: Yes, another 'wandering' ... post...

This is where we took our 36 Tiffin Allegro Open Road. I found a similar company in Florida. Josam Alignmant 407-438-7020 8849 Exchange Drive Orlando, FL 32809 Hope this made a world of difference in the handling and comfort of our Class A.

RE: campground around oceanside and carlsbad

You should consider staying in Anaheim and to visit Universal Studios catch the Metrolink Orange County Line train to Union Station, and then transfer to the Red Line subway which has a dedicated stop at Universal Studios/Studio City. You would avoid LA traffic.

RE: Saga of Cell Phone Accident...

We have put dash cams in both of our vehicles just for this reason. They are both Tesla's and one just needed a USB memory stick to record from 4 cameras.

RE: Are Idaho Ram dealers worth the drive?

We use to live near Dave Smith, when his son owned the dealership. We have since moved and have found that going through Costco Auto Program was a tad better of a deal.
