VictronConnect BMV-712-Smart

Hope this is the right forum for this. I had to reset my smart phone and lost all my bluetooth sync ups. Got all the others to sync back up but the VictronConnect BMV 712 smart. I can't get it to sync back up. I thought I left the default code in and now it won't let back in to monitor it with the app. I have even tried to use every 4, 5 & 6 number codes I've ever used and none of them let me in. How do I get back in there? I also tried to sync my Ipad up with it and it tells me to copy the code to sync it. I looked on the Victron monitor for the code but don't see it. Where would the code showup? I have emailed the company but...you know how that goes Thanks Milo

RE: vallecito res. colorado

Vallecito Lake is 1 of 2 of our favorite lakes to camp at in Southwest Colorado. We've been camping up there every summer for the past 40 + years usually stay in either Pine Point or North Canyon campground. There are sites in both campgrounds that will accommodate your Class A. We tow a 30' 5th wheel. Also the forest service road leading to them is well maintained. We've had no problems getting in and out of there. Also at the North end of the lake is a private resort/campground called 5 Branches. It's perty nice as it sets at the mouth of the Pine River.

RE: One more week then "empty nester"

My son is only moving 40 minutes away which is great but still my heart "grieves" in a manner. My heart goes out to those reading this that have lost children. I can't imagine what it's like knowing you'll never see them again. I'd give anything to have our daughter only 40 minutes away. She moved 1,500 miles away back in 2004, but thanks to skype and being retired, we did get to see & chat with her anytime we could get together, which was often. We even spent summers RVing up to her place on San Juan Island just to see her. That all ended back in 2014 when she passed away at the young age of 32. Now all we have is memories. Please cherish the fact that you still can see him in person and not just from a picture or a video.

RE: Ideas for Keystone water connection upgrade?

Hi kfp673, We have an Cougar Xlite with possibly the same stupid docking station. That fresh water hookup is perty flimsy and the black tank flush (bottom left black female hose bib) is even worse plus there's no gravity fill for water tank. Tried using the black tank flush once and had water coming out of the fitting just inside the wall. Fixed that but was a pain to use it so we've never used it. I've thought bout changing out the fresh water hookup but seeing what's in behind it inside the wall cabinet gives me great pause (pic #1). What I did was I got a metal elbow and a screw it into the inlet and opened the little slot and closed the door so the fitting sits outside the door and then screw the hose on it. Been doing that now for the 7 years we've had the 5er and so far have had no problems. This is what's inside the cabinet behind the docking station. https://i.imgur.com/3VWjiKql.jpg This is what our docking station looks like. Is it the same as yours? https://i.imgur.com/hB5Rxapl.jpg This is how we attach the city water hose. Seems to take some of the stress off the plastic fitting. https://i.imgur.com/qsKAzHml.jpg Milo

RE: Which Shocks for 2017 F150 Ecoboost

At pertnear 60,000 miles we changed to a set of 4600's on our 13. Sure has made a big difference when the 5'er is attached. Also added a set of Sumosprings. Milo

RE: Winterizing Travel Trailer

Milo, why do you think that the pump isn't getting winterized by sucking the antifreeze out of the jug? Super Dave Cuz where the pump is, in the lower half of a little cabinet in the back corner of the 5'er under the electrical junction box which is in the upper half of the cabinet. There is no room to add a hose so the pump can suck antifreeze out of a jug. I don't trust just running the pump dry that all the water is out of it. https://i.imgur.com/JL70QKAl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/EwAnMmJl.jpg Impossible to add a winterization kit to this mess. Would have to take apart the cabinet just to get to the pump. 2nd pic, if you look really hard you can see the pump in the back left side of the picture. So I have to put some antifreeze in the tank so the pump can suck some thru it. Milo

RE: Winterizing Travel Trailer

Sorry folks..but the only way to make sure the pump in our 5'er is winterized is to put some antifreeze into the FW tank and suck it thru the pump. Pump has no winterizing kit attached to it and is not accessible to put one on it. So I run it for 10 or 15 seconds to make sure all water is out of it and then add just enough antifreeze to the tank so the pump will pick it up, then drain the remaining out. Also there's no gravity hole to fill FW tank so I have to pump it in with another pump. We have a lever to switch from tank fill or city water usage. Been doing this now for the 7 years we've had it. Come spring I sanitize the tank & system good with bleach and have had no antifreeze foam or after taste. Milo

RE: Half ton towing

jeeperman your 150 has 52 pounds less payload capacity than ours. We tow a 29' 5'er and put pertnear 15,000 miles on that puppy in the past 7 years with the majority of miles in the southern Rookies of southwestern Colorado. Only suspension addition has been a set of SumoSprings (at 56,000 miles). Truck just turned 58,000 miles and got a set of Bilstein's to replace the crappy OEM's. Oh... the main different is ...you got a 5.0 V8 & we got that little 3.5 v6 (ecobeast). So! Milo

RE: Possible Addition of Second Battery

Thanks guys. I'm still in the beginning stages of what I wanta do. Battery still seems to be doing its job. I'm just thinking bout the future. One of the first things I did when we bought the 5'er was convert all the inside bulbs to LED's. The panel runs up in the mid 14's for several hours, then tapers back to the mid 13's as it got the battery back to 100% or close to it. Was curious bout what we have now, if it would charge an added battery. Have thought bout 2-6 volts. Thanks for all your inputs. Milo

Possible Addition of Second Battery

Howdy ... I need you solar guys help please with a couple of questions. My current battery is a 5 year old Group 27 Duracell Ultra Marine/RV Deep cycle that is starting to run outa oomph. We use a portable 130W Poli-si 7.35A panel and a Morningstar SunSaver-10L controller to charge it with when boondocking. For DW & my style of dry camping (3-4 nights at a time), no inverter, very little water pump usage and limited lights on at night. it works extremely well keeping the battery charged as the battery never gets below 12.35 (volt minder) at night and the next day the panel has it recharged. If we have sun. I'm thinking when time comes to replace the battery I would possibly add a second 12v so we could use more & not worry bout running to much out of the battery. My question is... If I add a second battery, is my solar panel & controller big enough to charge 2 group 27 12V deep cycle batteries? If not, what size panel & controller would I need? Controller & Panel we have now. https://i.imgur.com/4BLuDjKl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/34Pyq3Ll.jpg Thanks Milo
