A Horrible GSRA Experience

Two nights ago at 4:30 p.m. we had a blow out on our truck on US 95 16 miles north of Beatty, NV. We called GSRA and (to make a long story short) talked to 7 different dispatchers over a course of 5 hours. The last guy we talked to "Sal" said we were on our own. Finally a Nevada State Trooper came by, called a tire guy and we were on our way in 30 minutes. The sad thing is the tire guy that came out has answered calls for GS in the past and never got a call. Marcus, to say we are not happy is an understatement. You must not be very happy about this either.

RE: Ohio Amish country in September Favorite things to do

Berlin a favorite place of mine. Ditto for the Mt. Hope Auction. Go on drives through the countryside and enjoy the beauty of the farms. Betsy.

RE: Bicycle Safety

Solismaris-My DD has a couple really expensive bikes but her favorite is an old beach cruiser someone gave her. She rides it to work every day. If she lost that one she would be very sad.

RE: Bicycle Safety

Twodownzero-The guy with the two really expansive bikes had a toy hauler and chained the bikes up outside. Makes no sense to us.

RE: Bicycle Safety

Thanks all for all the great ideas. I enjoyed reading each one. We are in a nice CG in a nice little town. A couple nights ago there were two very expensive bikes taken that were locked up with a giant piece of chain. My husband always says no one wants our cheap bikes. But that is not the point. I am determined to prevent losing them. Thanks again. Betsy.

Bicycle Safety

How do campers with bicycles protect them from thieves? The CG we are in has had four bikes stolen this Summer. A good, thick chain with lock doesn't seem to work. Thanks for all ideas. Betsy.

RE: Delaware to Shipshewana South Campground Indiana

Don't know the best route but Shipshewana South CG is wonderful. Shipshewana is one of my very favorite places. Fabulous restaurants, grocery store, flea market and shops. Enjoy.

RE: AZ to NV, UT, ID, WY, CO and NM

We also avoid KOA if possible. You know KOA stands for "keep on adding".

RE: Campgrounds along or near Hwy 12 in Idaho

Sorry for not responding sooner. No all the spots are not big rig friendly. We just happened to get a big pull thru spot.

RE: Campgrounds along or near Hwy 12 in Idaho

We stayed at Powell with big FW. Was fine. We could walk to the lodge. They had the best onion rings we have ever had, anywhere.

RE: Arizona winter stay campgrounds

We like Fortuna de Oro CG in northern Yuma. A fabulous RV park with all the amenities. Excellent Pickleball. Good weather, good restaurants, good shopping (although I'm not a shopper) but it is all there in Yuma. We go down there after Quartzsite. Betsy

RE: Big falling rock CO 145 closed

Have taken that road over to Gunnison several times. A beautiful drive.

We went Fort Collins to Elkhart. 34 then dropped down to 36. Will always go that way. In Kansas, Prairie Dog State Park is a wonderful overnight stop. While in Elkhart try and visit Shipshewana. An amazing Amish community a few miles east with fabulous restaurants. Betsy.
