RE: Class C RV Bomb

Hopefully he will donate that $250,000 to a recovery fund for the businesses and residences damaged or destroyed once the inevitable realization that there will be no arrests or convictions is finalized.
Hear, hear!

RE: Class C RV Bomb

The motor home appears to be a Chateau.
Old Biscuit: As I noted upthread, there are two reasons I posted this:
1. Other RVers may have seen this RV in the area and might have some useful information.
2. Older RVs might want to avoid parking in city streets for the time being as they will be looked upon with suspicion.

RE: Class C RV Bomb

If I had an older RV I'd stay out of major cities in the near future. {I doubt anyone would waste a new expensive one to blow up things}.

RE: Class C RV Bomb

You may be right, Enblethen. What year would you guess? This isn't just idle curiosity on my part. The police & FBI are interested in any information someone might have about the RV. Since RV-ers are more apt to notice RVs than are non-RVers, someone might have seen this RV in a nearby campground or on the road and might recall where and when.

Class C RV Bomb

Having seen the surveillance photo of the RV that exploded in Nashville this morning, I think it looks like a Citation, a Canadian make. Can anyone who has seen the photo confirm or deny this?

RE: Border closings

I'm curious as to the repercussions this closure had had on Alaska tourism this summer.

RE: Border closings

Well, I guess that will keep traffic down here in southern AZ. It also means I'll be watering my winter neighbors' palm trees all year. :(

RE: Camping with no reservations

Twice this year I had no problem showing up and getting an open site, no reservation, at Flat Rock Creek COE CG, north of Wagoner OK. I'd say it might be certain areas, not all COE.
You're probably right. This campground was in Oregon and I think it had something to do with COVID. Not sure what.

RE: Camping with no reservations

This summer a COE park I encountered said they (COE campgrounds) all require reservations now, even if there are plenty of empty sites staring you in the face. And you have to phone the government reservation line, you can't book the site at the campground office. I considered this a ridiculous rule, refused to reserve and left. While I was able to find quite a few available USFS sites, most of those now take reservations and many were booked up even though empty (No one seems to enforce the "must occupy site first night" rule. My personal opinion is that USFS sites should be reservable only on weekends and should be FCFS on weekdays.

RE: Virus while camping

As a matter of fact, I think the vast majority of America has seemed to taken up camping, as the areas we go to that are never busy this time of year are all packed now.
Yes, that has been my observation, as well. More campers than ever before. I'm trying to figure out how camping could expose you to COVID-19.

Orfun: 14A is just very steep and winding. Not particularly scary in terms of drop-offs like the MDH.

If you don't mind 10% grades, take hwy 14A in WY east to west (downhill) from Burgess Jct. to Lovell. Truly spectacular views. There are a few turnouts.

Sitting Bull Campground in Bighorn NF is beautiful and lots of bear and moose around. That entire area is worth a visit.
