RE: Class As in cold weather?

We're good down to 24F without issues. Lower than that needs much more attention to keep from freezing. Pull the slides in, go on tank water, and have a few lights in the service bays. Go find a warmer place to park, they really weren't designed for use in sub zero temps.

RE: Got the MH weighed.

We rolled through the scale at 6,600 front, 12,700 rear, and 5,500 on the trailer. 500 over our "hitch" weight" but since we have no frame extensions, I ran it. Ours has over 3,300 CCC on the sheet, wet. I doubt that I will ever be over weight. Heck, even maxed out on both axles I have to run the lowest recommended tire pressure on the 19.5's

RE: Decals cracking!

Thanks for the info...I haven't started yet, but it's coming. They just look horrible. I know I'll have ghosting, as said it will give me a template for paint.

RE: How fast do you drive with camper on? .

I clocked them both at over 80 miles an hour in a 60 zone for big rigs.
I wish my work truck would go 80 mph. :B
Red will go that fast.......at like 4 mpg.

Anyone removed the old cracking decals? What gets them off the best?

almost looks like a camping site at the KOA in Outerbanks of NC. The fire rings really are almost that close, and guaranteed your neighbor will start a fire in it.
Enjoy the MH we did the same thing but stayed small.
HAHAHAHA, that pic is on the dealers lot, and that "fire ring" is a power outlet so they can plug RV's in. They always have 5 or 6 for sale.
This one is 30' I couldn't imagine going much smaller. Anything smaller we've seen lacks closet space, and it had REALLY LOW mileage.

RE: Thousand Trails Camping Pass?

Will be doing a BLM pass for sure.
What's a BLM pass?
We camp on BLM land in California all the time and I've never heard of a pass. Is this a regional thing? Or are we scofflaws?
I was told last time we were in Quartzite that you can buy a 9 month pass, rather than paying as you go.
Now I'm even more confused. Pay to camp on BLM land?
I've never paid and don't know who I would pay. I pull off the road, find a spot, hum a few bars of Woody Guthrie's "This Land Is Your Land" and camp for free.
Maybe I misunderstood, but not all BLM land is free to camp on.

RE: Thousand Trails Camping Pass?

Hey guys......good to see you back!
TT, especially in Oregon and Washington, is great. While we haven't been to the Washington Parks, I always hear good things about them. The Oregon Parks on the coast particularly Whalers Rest, Seaside and I like Pacific City too.....are all nice.
All I can say is we have been Happy with Thousand Trails for over 10-15 years now. Good luck with your new adventures!
Dwight
Won't really be able to "get out" till after the first of the year....but we're soooooo ready

Thousand Trails Camping Pass?

We just got back into a Moho and now that we're both retired it's time to start traveling. Will be doing a BLM pass for sure. Does anyone have a camping pass from TT? How do you like it, or dislike it. We had RPI 15 years ago and it really wasn't very good IMO.

RE: 2022 Tiffin - F-53 Chassis - Brakes

We just picked up a 2007 F53 chassis moho. The brakes felt "different" from what I was used to, but they had no problems stopping it when called upon. I takes a fair amount of pedal to react, but after 1,100 miles towing 5,500 lbs, without the trailer it's a sports car......LOL.

RE: How fast do you drive with camper on? .

Where you see 80mph limits in Nevada?
All I15 and I40 have 70 mph. Have not been on I80 for few years, but only east side of it had higher limits, where last 100 miles before CA state line it was 70 as well.
Love the "flow of traffic" excuse.
Last week I tow my boat with SUV to Lake Powel.
The 4-cylinder diesel struggled in heavy winds pulling big patio boat, so I was driving in 65- 70 mph range.
Still was passing some semitrucks and lot of motorhomes.
Don't recall seeing TC on the trip.
We go up 95 all the time and yes it's 80 mph between Reno and Winnemucca on I80.

RE: VIDEO: Installing new 4400 pound 6+1 rear leaf springs

While looking for replacement springs for Red, I found that the "factory" springs were the lightest available, being 4+1's. I was going to do the 5+1's since the originals handled the 4,500lb S&S with just upper stableloads. If we were keeping the TC this year I was going to "upgrade" to new stouter springs. Still may keep Red, but unsure.

RE: It's been fun

Thanks guys, I'll be around. It's a 30 footer, big enough to fulltime comfortably, but small enough to get in places.
Since it's technically built of an F550 chassis, we've been exploring doing a 4x4 conversion. It has a 3,400lb cargo carry capacity wet! Going to get a 7,500lb hitch put on so I can tow the toys like we did with Red and the TC.

It's been fun

We tried to make it possible for Ruthie to be able to use the TC and it's just not happening. With her back the overhead bed is just to hard for her to get in and out of. So yesterday we bought a small class A and we're most likely going to end up selling the TC and Red.
It's been a blast being part of the TC sector.....see ya down the road.
the new digs....if ya see us drop by, cause we're going on some adventures now, since she's retired now.
