RE: is a surge protector necessary for a basic travel trailer?

I use them for piece of mind. On my third Progressive EMS right now. Actually had one burn in a pedestal. There is a campground I stay at frequently that has a sign on every pedestal. The rules, which one states recommendation of Surge protectors. I guess signs are cheaper than replacing worn and abused outlets. I have seen surge protectors wasted by folks that plug their burned plugs into them. I use a short sacrificial cord to plug into the pedestal and then plug into that. Yah it’s on a military base so I am sure just a precaution. Just don’t understand why people just don’t get one. It’s only a couple hundred bucks.

RE: Towing with Auto Leveling

If you can, disable the auto air bags and use the WDH to level your vehicle. If your auto level lifts the rear of the truck after your hitch has been set up it will serve to unload your front tires and possibly defeat the anti-sway capabilities of your hitch. Both scenarios make your tow worse and possibly unsafe. Doesn't work that way. Can't just turn it off on a Tahoe. It's not much different setting up an an auto level system with weight distribution, just cant use a tape measure. Either scale or trial and error until it "feels" right. The ride height will just remain the same. It needs to be disabled somehow (pull fuse) until you get the hitch setup. Then you can reneable the system. It can. Go into the system on screen. Then suspension, then click service mode. Be level first. Once you hook up the trailers electrical it will go back to normal. Disable your comfort setting for lowering when placed in park. This is how my 2021 Yukon XL Denali is set up.

RE: What's a good MSRP discount in today's market?

We looked all over our state and border states for our the RV we wanted. MSRP was $54*** with an average of $40k for dealer "bottom line". We found a place in the midwest for $34k plus $2k for delivery. should be here Friday.

RE: surge protector and water filters

Get a Berkey water system. Light weight and one of the best systems out there for travel.
