RE: Hey Mods

My screen name is/was dons2346. I was not able to log on as I was told that that name did not exist. Tried contacting a Mod and got the error message like that in the first post. Finally had to come up with the Navigator name so I could log in. I'd like to get my dons2346 back

RE: Residential Refrigerator – Good or avoid?

How much power does a residential fridge typically draw. Some of reported it quickly drains batteries, and others have suggested it's really not that bad. A residential refer will typically draw 3 amps ac. That equates to about 30 amps dc. But you have to remember that the refer does not run 24/7.

RE: to the group that has got loud amp music going(Quartzsite)

Rock on baby! Either that or let your wheels do the turning and move. There is to much desert to put up with loud music

RE: engine antifreeze

You cannot judge a coolant by the color. Read your owners manual for coolant specs and then read the label on the coolant jug.

RE: Discount on fuel if paying with cash??

Look for stations that post cash and credit prices. The cash price is usually 10 cents a gallon cheaper

RE: Oklahoma City to Palm Springs Ca. In February best route???

DFord's route would be the one I would take. I40 can be a mess and if it snows anywhere in the US, it is in Flagstaff. Been there done that.

RE: Very Bad RV Wreck in Oregon

................ I can't imagine even driving my DP without insurance + Good Sam, Coach Net, or something. If you read your contract with your roadside towing company,Good Sam or CoachNet, you will find that they will not tow a wrecked vehicle

RE: Changing Atwood water heater plug to brass

If you install the brass plug with the petcock, how are you going to flush the tank? You still have to remove the plug. The tank should be flushed on a regular basis to remove the deposits that settle on the bottom of the tank. Atwood installed a plastic plug for a reason, not to be cheap

RE: Flying J and Pilot moving toward B20 diesel?

Been using Loves for the last few fill ups. Pumps in the truck lanes say #2 diesel but that could be up to 5% bio. The last times I filled at Pilot/FJ, all the punps said 20% boi

RE: Looking for info on TSD Logistics

Plenty of posts on this and the savings average 30-40 cents on an inflated price. Right. My experience is that it just gets the inflated truck stop price down to what other places in the vicinity (including stations with diesel pump islands for trucks) charge. So it's handy for that, if you really want to go to Love's or whatever. But don't fool yourself into thinking you're "saving" 40 cents when what you end up paying is the same as other stations around there. Not entirely true. I have checked Gas Buddy in the area where there is a Loves and find that the price using the TSD card at Loves is 20 to 30 cents cheaper than the local stations. Plan ahead and you can save some serious money

RE: Refrigerator question for you class A campers

All this talk about the number of batteries. It's not the nunber of batteries, it is the total amp hours that is important. If you were to listen to a residential refer, you will find that there are periods of time when it isn't running. So, this means it doesn't need power 24/7. It is quite possible to have the refer on inverter power during the day, run the generator some in the afternoon/early evening and then (GASP) turn the refer off for the night period! I have gone over 20 hours without power to the refer and everything was still frozen and the refer side was still within safe temperature limits for food.
