RE: Constant Convertor?

Mine runs all the time. Been like that since day 1 over 4 years ago. Some times it runs faster or slower depending on load.

RE: Tow weight

keep in mind fully loaded that trailer can be as much as 7900 lbs. (it has a decent amount of carrying capacity at 2865) giving you a tongue weight almost 1200 lbs..... depending how you load it (and the rest of your stuff) you can likely do it but i would expect a less than enjoyable towing experience. i would suggest buying the best hitch and sway control you can afford. another thing not mentioned here is to make sure your brakes are up to snuff as that 3.3 is going to struggle to hold the weight back with compression coming down hill. Very true and i would not max out the trailer with cargo. I would take a separate vehicle to help with cargo as we only want it for a seasonal type campground to go to each year. So I would def keep the numbers low.Put everything you can in the trailer, it only adds 12% to the tongue weight. 100 pounds put in the trailer instead of the truck only adds 12 lbs to the tongue weight, you save 88 lbs of payload.

RE: KOA work

Don't worry about the experience, all they want you to do is clean toilets and pickup trash.

RE: Without getting political....

So let me see if I got this right. Not protecting the flag from dark and weather is disrespecting the flag. But failing to stand and take your hat off as the national anthem is played is not. As a matter of fact, one could choose to kneel immediately upon entering the field, 20 seconds before kick-off, at half time, or at any one of hundreds of other times; but the fact one chooses to kneel at the moment of the playing the national anthem says exactly what they itended it to say. Going the opposite direction of the way one goes in honoring the flag; and the same as the way you were taught.

The draft lottery sucks.

RE: 10,000 wdh for 4,000 lb TT

I don't know about your's, but on mine all I need to-do is switch out the bars when I tow a lighter trailer; the head is the same.

RE: Just wondering

Maybe you should try your question in a boat forum, my tow vehicle doesn't float - just saying

RE: RVing with no mechanical capability

If you pulled a drawer out and the handle was loose could you tighten the screw and make it tight again? Can you take a tire off and hut the spare on? That's about the extent of anything I've ever needed to fix on the road.

RE: Roof air bubbles

Sounds like problems looking for a new owner. Price in a whole new roof, including underlayment then make your decision.

Mount a PVC tube, underneath, with screw on caps.

RE: Double towing

I am sure the answer ranges to both extremes. Some have made it without being ticketed, some have been stopped ticketed, and split up and made to tow one at a time. So do you feel lucky?

RE: Oops ??

Put a little sealer in it and stick on an american flag decal.

RE: Do I need sway bar or equalizer?

If it was me, I would get a weight distribution hitch and a friction sway bar. I've been towing trailers for about 30 years, and every trailer I tow over 2500 - 3000lbs would have one if at all possible. You can check them out at

RE: used power jack manually, now motor runs but jack wont work?

Take it apart and look at it. Best case it's a simple fix. Worse case it's permanently damaged and has to be replaced. As it stands right now replacement is your only option so you have nothing to lose.

RE: Gas, Diesel, Gears and Towing

Rationalizing just enough truck and gas engines is a losing battle. It's not hard to rationalize at all, once you figure out how much it costs.

RE: Gas, Diesel, Gears and Towing

All other things being equal, a engine with a 4:10 gear will be turning more rpm for the equivalent mph as a 3:73 gear. More rpm = more Hp and hence easier work to pull the load. A diesel develops higher Hp at lower rpms. A turbo charged engine (i.e.: ecoboost) develops higher Hp at lower rpms.

RE: Bunkhouse TT Suggestions

You sure don't need a F250 to pull a 7,000 lbs GVW trailer.
