The following I can claim with absolute certainty When hydroxychloroquine was declared as the "miracle" cure and prophylactic for COVID it did the following... Caused an acute shortage of the drug in generic and patented (trademarked PLAQUENIL) which left me, an immunocompromised elder of then 74 years without recourse for treatment of LUPUS, Look up the malady on GOOGLE and see the consequences of untreated LUPUS. I had to resort to steroids and methotrexate. Look those up. Either or both will greatly decrease the body's defense mechanisms against all virus, and all bacteria. Starting with an already compromised immune system, I was left defenseless for many months. I am anything but dull witted. I knew then, and I know now, that when HCQ was finally deemed almost worthless, NINETY EIGHT PERCENT OF THOSE Rx WERE FLUSHED DOWN THE TOILET. Down here in Mexico, I have seen far too many "Thirty Something's" become ill, and be tested positive for COVID. The worst exhibited a blood O2 saturation of 82. When I travel to the states for medical and do my shopping, I do a mental calculation as I enter a store. If there are too many unmasked customers, I do a U-turn. I have to do this because I get no free-shots with the virus. If I get it I die. So, no matter what your disposition may be regarding the virus please keep in mind there are severely immune compromised individuals out there who cannot live in a glass bubble. We must hope others do not kill us. My famous last words - I’m not dull witted but I go out shopping and risk exposing myself to something that will kill me.

RE: Best Quality Travel Trailers

When the public stops buying poorly assembled RVs quality will improve. You can buy quality if you choose to; manufacturers make what buyers buy, they don’t make what buyers wish for but won’t pay for.

RE: Speaking of rolling up power cords

For heat reasons, you’re better off unwinding the whole reel anyway.

RE: I kid you not!

I blame that on the parents, education starts at home. Sounds like the only thing the parents celebrated was a day off of work.

RE: How old is too old?

Everybody is different. The fact that you are asking this question tells me you still have a few left. When you start scaring the DW with your driving, need help parking, then you may need to reconsider what you’re doing.I feel quit the opposite, if your asking it’s probably time.

RE: Soft start for ac

Just have a propane company deliver an extra large propane tank (with a gauge) and use on board gen. Why spend $300 on something you don’t really need? Your on board will handle that ac just fine.

RE: Weight of travel trailer

There are two stickers on the door of the truck. They give you information like GVWR, RAWR, max cargo (payload), that the info anyone would to tell you what you can reasonably tow. Without that info, any answers to your question have no basis in facts.

RE: Retirement

I’m glad you both are satisfied with your choices. No one said one size fits all. Your choices don’t work for me - to each their own. That's why I said everyone should get their statement from SSA and make their decisions with the real numbers.

RE: Retirement

If/when you outlive the SS break-even number, generally in your eighties, it's likely you will be stable somewhere and not care much about that $100 or $200, or even $500 a month extra. Wherever you live will probably take all of it anyway, the more you collect, the more they take. When I read this the other day it didn’t sound right to me. So I had some extra time today (it was raining) so I looked it up. When I was 62 if I would have started collecting SS my benefit would have been $1845 per month. (My benefit at age 70 at that time was predicted to be $3308) I am now 67, my current benefit would be (if I would have chose to start collecting) $2928 / mo. At age 70 my benefit is currently predicted to be $3637; almost double the benefit at 62 and a hell of a lot more than $500 / mo. extra. The break even point is 8.23 years or when I am 78 and 3 months old. All of these numbers are from my statements I get every year from SSA (use to get them automatically, now you have to download them yourself from SSA). That’s just how it works out for me. I would encourage anyone contemplating collecting SS benefits to get “their” statement from SSA and see how it works out.

Even if it will hitch, will you be able to turn?

RE: WD Hitch or not?

The truck may not need but what is the rating on the receiver? Receivers have a rating also, usually with and without a wdh.

RE: Wow, 6 months wait for a Chevy-Tahoe

There goes again the political hacks inserting their irrelevant partisan views on topics on posts that are supposedly informational. Put it out there on the political thread will yah! (ok, there's none -- so off to Twitter or FB for you)...:DPot calling the kettle black

RE: GM announces their Electric Silverado half ton.

What happens when you get your future electric bill. Come on man! It's offset by your virtually zero gas bill. Oh it’s not virtually zero...ITS ZERO...and has been for almost 6 years. :)So tell us about your RV that hasn’t burned any gas in 6 years and how I can explore the US and not burn any gas. Sounds to good to be true?

RE: hot water rv heater

Well why would you want to heat HOT water? Beat me to it. My water heater heats my COLD water.Mine heats hot water. It comes on when the water temp hits about 120 and goes off when it hits about 140.

RE: Chevrolet exits all ICE production by 2035

People tow thousands of pound wagons with horses also, that doesn’t mean it’s practical, just means it’s possible. Would work out fine for getting a two week supply of groceries.

RE: Math question for any engineers out here

Yes you you need about a 6 foot (72 inch) wall to be level if you go the full 30 feet of the trailer. If you let the trailer hang out over the end of the wall you would need less height depending on how far in you move the end of the wall.

RE: Chevrolet exits all ICE production by 2035

I hope that I never get so totally obsessed with one thing that everything that I read or discuss involves that subject. I sure don't want lobbyists forcing their ideas on the general public. I agree. Never the less, I don't understand why he's posting in the "Tow Vehicle" section; he's certainly not positing about Tow Vehicles. His posts would better belong in the Around the Campfire section; or maybe the can start a "Grocery Getter" section just for him.
