RE: WD Hitch or not?

The truck may not need but what is the rating on the receiver? Receivers have a rating also, usually with and without a wdh.

RE: Wow, 6 months wait for a Chevy-Tahoe

There goes again the political hacks inserting their irrelevant partisan views on topics on posts that are supposedly informational. Put it out there on the political thread will yah! (ok, there's none -- so off to Twitter or FB for you)...:DPot calling the kettle black

RE: GM announces their Electric Silverado half ton.

What happens when you get your future electric bill. Come on man! It's offset by your virtually zero gas bill. Oh it’s not virtually zero...ITS ZERO...and has been for almost 6 years. :)So tell us about your RV that hasn’t burned any gas in 6 years and how I can explore the US and not burn any gas. Sounds to good to be true?

RE: hot water rv heater

Well why would you want to heat HOT water? Beat me to it. My water heater heats my COLD water.Mine heats hot water. It comes on when the water temp hits about 120 and goes off when it hits about 140.

RE: 2011 outback

Yup, small sheet metal screw strategically placed so it doesn't come in contact with anything except the two mating surfaces.

RE: Chevrolet exits all ICE production by 2035

People tow thousands of pound wagons with horses also, that doesn’t mean it’s practical, just means it’s possible. Would work out fine for getting a two week supply of groceries.

RE: Math question for any engineers out here

Yes you you need about a 6 foot (72 inch) wall to be level if you go the full 30 feet of the trailer. If you let the trailer hang out over the end of the wall you would need less height depending on how far in you move the end of the wall.

RE: Chevrolet exits all ICE production by 2035

I hope that I never get so totally obsessed with one thing that everything that I read or discuss involves that subject. I sure don't want lobbyists forcing their ideas on the general public. I agree. Never the less, I don't understand why he's posting in the "Tow Vehicle" section; he's certainly not positing about Tow Vehicles. His posts would better belong in the Around the Campfire section; or maybe the can start a "Grocery Getter" section just for him.

That’s what the “Block this member” button is for. It works wonderfully

RE: Trailering

A tanker truck doesn't have to pull up to the gas pumps. Unfortunately, we can't fuel up where the tanker truck stops to unload. He sill has to get in and out the same as you do regardless of where along the path he ultimately stops.

RE: Violent Windstorm, no roof

Case in point of why you don’t carry full coverage on a 19 year old rig.

RE: Trailering

If a tanker truck can get in there to fill the fuel storage tanks I’m pretty sure I can get in there with my trailer.

RE: How long do you drive/tow in a day?

As long as it takes. 8 or 10 hours is pretty common, 12 hours several times, have been a few at 24 hrs plus. It’s really up to you and yours, how long do you want to drive.

RE: Chevrolet exits all ICE production by 2035

I leave my key fob in the truck then lock the truck. When I get done swimming I open the truck with the keypad on the door and away I go.

RE: Battery Powered Lawn Mower

I’m all done buying gas power equipment. Once the EPA decided in their infinite wisdom we weren’t allowed to adjust carburetors anymore, gas power equipment became a huge PIA to keep running properly. My garage is becoming void of gas power equipment. Everything will eventually be battery powered. Personally I’m going with the 80V.

RE: Some Towing Math and Questions

Polish - the tongue weight of the trailer also counts as cargo on the truck. If your trailer weighs 7500 lbs loaded and ready to go camping, you can estimate the tongue weight will be 12% of that = 900 lbs. Take the 900 lbs plus add the people in the truck (you prev said 800 lbs) = 1700 lbs. That puts you 190 lbs over you cargo rating (1510 lbs.) (also known as payload rating) without putting anything in the bed of your truck. Read up Here
