RE: Slideout Coming in Crooked

Most likely a Schwintek system. Plenty of trouble shooting videos on the net. In your case you might try running the slide all the way out then bring it in a foot then back out. Do that 3 or 4 times and it might fix the alignment issue. You might look for the controller and check for an error code.I don't have my schwintek book with me right now but I'm pretty sure that's what you don't want to do. What you do is run it out all the way and hold the button down an extra 3 or 4 seconds after it stops. Then run it in all the way and hold the button after it stops. You do that every time you run it in or out. Never stop when it is part way in or it.

RE: OREGON STATE PARKS RANT

Here in the Willamatte valley of Oregon we have good camping weather well into fall and sometimes beyond. Oregon state parks are extremely popular in the fall with it being a challenge to find a spot. Despite data from their own web site proving this Oregon State Parks refuses to keep parks or loops open longer thus turning away revenue and camping opportunities to all. Milo Mciver campground closes October 31 yet reservation data shows high interest. Champoeg state campground closes A loop though usage is shown to be high through October. They just do not care. Very frustratingWhat did you conclude after you made the same Rant last year? RANT Even used the same All Caps title for the thread. Did you think the answers would be different?

RE: NEW TRUCK!!!

Some of you guys just continue to crack me up. Who gives a ratzass how someone pays for their truck, their RV, their hot tub, or any other damm thing they want to buy. They don't owe you, me, or anyone else an explanation at all. I don't care if you are someone who is a millionaire, or if you're someone who is barely making minimum payments. Its nunmydamnbusiness. I also don't care if you're the smartest investor in the world it matters not. Someone will undoubtedly tell me "I must care, becuase Im commenting". No, Im commenting because all you self rightous people looking down on someone because they financed their vehicle. I do care enough to tell your self centered self you can KMA. Yeah, I'm sure I'll be censored, but some of y'all really just need to STFU. Congrats OP on your purchase. Im sure you will enjoy it for years to come. Mike Gee, could someone point out for me the post(s) of the " self rightous people looking down on someone because they financed their vehicle" ????

RE: NEW TRUCK!!!

We’re talking about paying off a loan on a truck vs. Paying cash. Losing a home or business has nothing to do with paying for a truck. But hey, don’t let the facts interrupt the story hour.

RE: NEW TRUCK!!!

Wow, in 45 plus years I never had to cash in my inestments to pay off a loan. All I had to do was make a monthly payment. The 10 years of earnigs I already got should cover that nicely. But I am enjoying your fairy tales. Actually, that's probably a misnomer. There must be another phrase that's used for fantastical tales of sudden catastrophic failure, immediate bankruptcy, and an eternity of poverty; all in the same day.

RE: NEW TRUCK!!!

...But paying off, your 6% loans results in 6% earnings, garuanteed, risk and tax free...Clearly a false statement. You get zero earnings by paying a loan off. You get a savings of your own money you are not spending. Same as making a decision not to buy a snickers bar, money not spent, zero money earned. What you did do however, was lose the ability to earn potentially significant gains on the money you just spent to pay off that loan. And remember, you still have the ability to pay off the loan any time your gains no longer justify having it. In the meantime, you can gain very real earnings on which I gladly pay the tax, as I laugh all the way to the bank. My tax on 8.59% earnings is less than 2%.Must be new math. So you are saving money... That is the same as earning it... The big difference is it is tax free, and risk free. There are NO investments paying over 8% that are risk free. You CAN and people DO lose money on such investments. You yourself only give your stats for the last 9 years.. How did 2008 work out for you? Nick is actually correct. In simplest terms. If you have $100k in your gun safe and don't spend any of it, did you earn $100k that year? Spending frugally allows you to earn money by investing what you did not spend. But the simple act of not spending does nothing. If fact it is a net loser adjusting for inflation but very safe from market risk. It also allows you to lose money, including your principle. I notice how Nick does not talk about 2008, when just about everyone lost money on investments... True, most people have done alright, including myself since then, but even in a bull market, there are losers. In fact in todays market, it is harder than ever before to find safe investments that will pay more than what inflation and taxes will take. Let me answer your question about 2008. Just Google The worse 10 years in stock market history and you'll have your answer. But no matter what I say, your mind is already made up and not open. So be it. But you really shouldn't be giving finacial advice if you think saving money and earning money is the same thing. Just remember, I still have the money to pay off the loans any day I want plus I get to keep the accumulated earnings. Actually, I want to thank you. It's people like you so afraid of losing money who play it so safe that you will take peanuts for return on your investments that allow people like me to borrow that money and only pay peanuts to you while i keep my money invested in more reasonable ways (remember that Google search). Yup I lost money in 2008. Even worse I lost a whole ton of money last year. Guess what, I've already made back everyhing I lost last year, plus a boat load more on top of that this year. So excuse me while I go pay my taxes.

RE: 50A questions

OK, here is the deal. If you plug your new trailer into a 50A outlet with neutral missing, you burn up most of your AC devices with 240V across them...Um No it won't. A missing neutral will not cause an otherwise properly wired 120V device to see 240V.

RE: what defines a 3/4 ton?

If a vehicle is rated at 1500lbs cargo cap, does it really matter if it has 6 or 7 or 8 lug bolts? It does not. The truck is fully capable of performing within the limits it was designed for; and even has a factor of safety built in.

RE: 5,000 mile F150 Ecoboost 10speed pulling 8,000 review

Several comments on here about using E-rated tires. Just for general information if you special order a 4wd F150 you can get it with load range C LT tires (LT 267/65 18C) for $295. This is much easier and may be less expensive than swapping tires on a brand new truck. Interestingly though, the 2019 Towing Guide shows that you have to have 20" tires to get the max rated tow capacity. I have not been able to find out what the tow capacity is with 18" tires of any sort and my dealer can't tell me.Clicky

It's 6 screws. It took longer to write this rather then remove 6 screws.

Did you read anything about breaking the back window of your truck by turning to sharp on uneven ground?

RE: Financing question

Go online and find the best rate you can, someone mentioned light stream - a good choice, there are others. Chances are, the dealer can still beat it, but you got to have a good number then let them shoot it down. They have very good resources to beat just about anything you can get on your own. As for the upsells, just say no, it's that easy.

RE: My set up and TT length

If you going to pull a big trailer, why not use a big truck? Why would he buy a different truck when he already has what he needs?

RE: New GPS needed

Don't really understand the animosity toward cell phone apps. We have Car Play compatible units in 5 vehicles. We can plan a route on the phone, plug it in and call it up on the 7 inch touch screen, full music library is available too. With the smart phone you get constantly updated maps, real time traffic, lane direction, and voice commands. If I want to avoid highways I just throw that switch. Oh, and it charges the phone and provides hands free calling. For those who haven't seen a phone compatible head unit you might want to check them out. Considering they start a little over $300 they really aren't a bad choice.Yea, it's a mystery to me also. You already paid up for that technology, not taking advantage of it is just dumb to me. To each their own.

RE: Ford 7.3L gas power numbers

I'm use to 900 Tq....don't know if I can go back to almost half of that :( Just drop down a gear or two...the rear axle will never know the difference. Unless you are pushing the very upper limits of the tow ratings and doing lots of mountain driving...the modern gas engines are overkill (diesel is just more overkill).True That!

RE: Have I been doing it wrong all these years?

The main thing to remember is that the MPG reading is a lie. If you really want to know your MPG, keep track of mileage and amounts added to the tank, over several tankfuls you'll get your pretty accurate MPG. Let me understand. You trust your computer to tell you the number of miles you traveled. You trust your computer to tell you how fast you are going. You trust your computer to tell you the amount of time you traveled. You trust your computer to tell the engine what your foot wants it to do. You trust your computer to mix the correct amount of fuel with air, to allow the engine to run correctly. But you don't trust your computer to be able to use all that information to figure your MPG? Instead you trust a hand held computer, and a simi accurate computer on a random gas pump on a simi level concrete pad to figure your MPG. Oke Doke!But...But...But... I read it on the internet it must be true!!!
