RE: wind power

This is exactly today's biggest hurdle for wind/solar reliance. Battery technology is far from ready to cover needs during days when the wind is calm or the sun is blocked. A common thread regarding wind and solar power generation is about the lack of bulk storage for the periods those technologies are not generating power. Battery technology is improving, but still has a long way to go for the bulk capacities needed for fossil fuel power plant replacement. But there is an old tried and true power storage technology that's been around for years and is now seeing renewed interest. Take a look at these articles on pumped storage: Pumped storage gets a boost (or two) in the US And this one from Duke Energy: Pumped-Storage Hydro Plants

RE: Brady Bowl 10

The TB defense won the game. They had Mahomes running for his life all game. It was a stellar performance. Brady was just Brady..... Phemomenal. Barret should have gotten CO-MVP ... he was in the backfield all night long. Maybe the NFL should give out a Offense MVP and a Defense MVP. The game was truly a team effort, like a machine. That's how Brady operates so well, he builds a team and gives credit to the team when it wins. The only 'I' in his team is the one at the end of Gronk's name. :) Mahomes learned a lesson last night - hope he uses that lesson to make himself a better QB. Romo kept making excuses for KC, players hurt, Mahomes hurt. These guys get paid a lot of money ... the best of the best athletes. No excuses. All teams get players hurt, some step up, some don't.

RE: New laptop?

The tasks you mention as desired are possible on the very cheapest of laptops. Heck, your current old PC is probably perfectly capable of serving your needs as described! Your budget is the biggest question. An iPad would be a great choice, because it will sync with your iPhone, but APPLE products carry a premium price.

RE: The Flag of the United States of America

Nobody mentions intent when folks wear flag inspired clothing. I truly believe that 99% of the folks who do wear such items are intent on showing their patriotism, which is more inspiring than disgusting in my opinion. I have no problem with that whatsoever.

RE: Nicest?? CG in or near Bar Harbor

Nicest is subjective, but....... We stayed at KOA Oceanside several years ago. We had a waterfront site that had one of the most picturesque views of any CG we've been to. Every evening, a guy would come in and steam up lobsters in seawater for a decent price. The downside is the cost. I believe we paid $120 per night and this was several years ago. The waterfront site was worth the premium for a one-time splurge however. BTW - No sewer at those waterfront sites.

RE: Bye-bye Tom Brady

Sometimes ego overrides common sense? :) BINGO! Nail on the head. I love Tom and wish him well, but no QB is going to join a new team, with a new system and new teammates and take them to the Super Bowl. If Tom had made the decision at 35 instead of 43, there would be hope. I'm not sure why $$$$ is such a big issue for him since wifey makes even more and they are set for life for generations to follow. I'd say there's a 50/50 chance that this will be his final season. It's going to be a rude awakening for him.
