RE: Lift

Taller springs or lift blocks. Airbags will give you a little lift.

RE: Is CG info available from MFG's

Somewhere on the interwebs there is a formula for overall length versus wheelbase that is supposed to suggest how well the vehicle will track. Someone has decided that there is a particular ratio that is desirable. I don't know how valid it is or how one would easily decide what is good. It might be worth searching for it and see if it seems reasonable. If you had CG location, I don't know how you make a valid decision as to whether or not it was good or bad.

RE: 2-way refrigerator operation without a battery

What model is the fridge??? My '81 travel trailer had a fridge that did NOT need 12V to operate.

RE: Ford Bronco Sport

Too bad. Poor decision on Ford's part. I was hoping to see something new that could be towed 4-down that had the capabilities of a Wrangler, without riding like a piece of farm equipment. You want the Bronco, it can be towed and should hopefully be more comfortable than a Wrangler.

RE: Hood Cover for Ford E450

The hood on my '03 is plastic and doesn't dent. Did they change to steel?

RE: Best portable heater (30 amp) for my rv?

I have a Vornado and it's about the quietest fan based portable heater around.

RE: Check fuse in Ford Power Distribution Box

Leave the batt connected and just open the cover and check the fuse. If for some reason you can't get the cover back on, it probably won't matter.

RE: 2016 E-450 Outer Tie Rod end seal

You can easily replace the tie rod end yourself but you will need to adjust the toe-in after doing so or, you can just grease it every month and keep driving it for a long time.

RE: LOOKING IN ALL THE WRONG PLACES

Maybe the manufacturer can provide some drawings of the structure. I know that my son-in-law got some structural information from Jayco for his little trailer, so maybe they will do the same for you.

RE: Coating my Class-C roof

If you're going to recoat a fiberglass roof, why wouldn't you recoat the fiberglass side walls????? Just clean the roof and reseal all the penetrations with the sealant that Winnebago calls out. You can look up the sealants that Winne uses in the info on their website. IIRC, they used two or three different sealants on the roof penetrations. They used a flowable silicone around skylights and they likely used a urethane in some other areas. If the silicone around the skylights is unmolested, leave it at is because it's extremely difficult to get anything to stick where silicone has been previously used. You can find the correct sealant information at http://www.winnebagoind.com/diagram/Sealant.htm

RE: Coating my Class-C roof

Does it have a fiberglass roof or is it rubber. My Winnebago has a fiberglass roof and I just wash it.

RE: Tow or not to Tow

I take my toad for any trip longer than one night and my motor home is only 24'. Everyone has different expectations and preferences.

RE: Covid has not stopped the Off Road Motorhomes

Wonder what's with the two spine boards? Those are MaxTrax recovery boards for when you're stuck in sand.

RE: Help finding this DC Outlet

Is the jack just a 1/4" headphone jack? If it is, search for surface mount headphone jack. Aircraft Spruce has some surface mount housings.

RE: Ford 550 Verses Dodge Ram 5500 Diesel

Ford or Fiat. Seems like an easy decision.

RE: Brake controller cabling for RPod 179

It's better to use a 30A breaker on 10g wire. The breaker is to protect the wire and 10g wire is generally good for 30A. If the 12 Volts from the tow vehicle is hot when the vehicle is not running, then you would want to disconnect the 7 pin connector when the vehicle is not running or you can install a relay to disconnect the power automatically when the vehicle is not running.

RE: Anyone using the HD Roadmaster Rear Sway Bar RM-1139-163?

I'd suggest a call to Henderson's Lineup in Grants Pass, OR. See what they have to say.

RE: Question: Truck Battery Bank for Shore Power

Somewhere I think you have a short between the neutral and ground. Try plugging the RV cord into the inverter with only a single adapter or just use a meter and check for a short between neutral and ground. Forget about 120V versus 115V, that's just a red herring and doesn't matter.

RE: Apple's cooperation with Chinese officials

If you recall the first time the FBI cracked an iPhone, Apple then wanted them to tell 'em how they did it. I'm glad I can love my iPhone and still have a low opinion of Apple.
