If that's the indiator I think it is some of that type of indicator show RED for Empty and Green for anything other than empty and some show NOTHING for "Other than empty".
To find out.. Turn on both tanks then turn off the valve on the SELECTED tank with a burner on the stove lit heating water for tea.... IT should swiftly go red..
Have someone monitor the stove to insure it does not go out.
(IF it does shut it off before re-opening tank valve)Great suggestion. I love the wisdom here.

Winntec 6020 propane regulator
We are still learning the new systems. The indicator light at the front of the valve shows no color, red/green. I move the switch between tanks and it displays nothing. I read that this valve had a recall in 2021. Out unit is a 2020 likely built earlier. Is there a way check if it's working? Other than convenience, is there a problem with continuing it's use?

Our new to us trailer on it's first voyage has a strong urine smell beginning in the bathroom and after pumping permeates the whole trailer. It's a dometic toilet. It appears to be tight and no seal leaks, I could find. I suspect it's a venting issue. Granted, it was 90 and we stayed hydrated so there is that. But black tank level was 1/3 full. We have not used any tank chemicals other than Galgon to this point.
help please.Follow-up. We have used the camper this fall with daytime temps around 70 and night time in the upper 40's. No smell issues or other problems. It appears that at warm outdoor temps, the fan or other strategies must be employed for the bathroom to clear of smell because air will not vent through the stack efficiently enough to do the job. Aside from spray cover-ups, there will be a smell issue in the bathroom.

Do you have solar panels on the roof? Have you tried to follow the wires leaving the jack?Currently we have no solar but I am curious to learn what is connected to what. We don't dry camp often and have a genny we really love.

That depends on what is after the jack.
If there is a charge controller after the jack, then Bob's your Uncle. Add solar panels.
If not then panels connected to a charge controller, and connect the controller output to the jack.there is no charge controller in the inverter/converter onboard then?

Our 2020 travel trailer has an exterior jack labelled "solar". What do I need upstream of that plug to charge my house battery? I assume these jacks are standard so some "plug-and-play" connectors also exist. Thanks in advance.

In an earlier post you were trying to conserve water by only flushing urine after a few uses. The forum suggested flushing after every use. Now that the dealer has supposedly cleared a clog are you still flushing after every use? Or are you now letting the yellow mellow in the bowl between uses?
When flushing does the fresh water appear to fully wash down the sides of the bowl?
Here's a thought to determine if the smell is leaking out of the black tank or if it is leftover in the bowl after flushing. Turn off the water supply and turn off the water pump. Hold the toilet flush open until the pressure is out of the lines. Now get a gallon of Pine Sol and carefully pour it all into the tank while somebody holds the flush valve open. Turn on the water supply and put some water in the toilet.
Run the vent fan and purge the Pine Sol smell out of the bathroom. Let it all sit in the heat and come back later and check for smell. Do you smell Pine Sol after a few hours?Excellent suggestion. We have been flushing regularly and allowing extra water to wash down. I will be doing the pinesol test. thanks.

help please.This is a follow-up. Returned the rv to the dealer where it was purchased. They informed me there was clog in the drain system. They pumped and flushed and sanitized and shocked and returned it to me. No toilet issues, all is fine. We used it this weekend for three of the hottest days in years. I have learned that when air temperatures are 90 plus urine smell fills the bathroom. When air temperature outside drops into the 70's, the smell soon clears. So we have a venting issue. First, will the dealer acknowledge it. And second, is it fixable?

Every time i use the toilet i spritz with a cleaner that has bleach in it. Dump the pee without using water, spritz afterwards. At home I have a dump station. i mix bleach, dawn and foam it up in a bucket with a paint mixer attachment on my drill. Pour the foamy mixture and let it sit, then dump it out. Always keep the valves closed when hooked to the sewer at a campsite, dump when your tanks are full. With a flashlight and empty tank look in toilet. See any buildup? Keep water in tank always. And the bag of ice in the black tank to break up the mound has been proven to be a myth. I also use a bleach spritz in my grey water usage.Thank you. This is a new camper in which the toilet and tanks have never been used. We either have a venting problem or failed seals in the toilet.

You probably have automatic vents for the gray tank under your kitchen counter and under the vanity in the bathroom. If these go bad, and they do, your gray tank will gladly share all its smells with the trailer. I hope your drain valve is not open and you are not hooked up to the park's sewer. If so, and with bad auto vents, you will get to enjoy the sewage smells of all your neighbors. Some people insist on doing this, can't figure out why.
Try filling your traps slowly in the kitchen and bathroom, then wrap plastic wrap over the auto vents with a rubber band. See if the smell goes away. Could be, the auto vents don't open and are causing your traps to siphon dry.
I would also consider previous mice and rats as being an issue. They don't see well, so they pee everywhere to help them navigate by smell. Stick your head in a storage compartment to see if it is worse. Also, remove an electrical outlet to access the inside of a wall, and give the hole a good whiff. No help here as how to remedy.
I hope your problem is from the auto vents; they are cheap and easy to replace. Who knows, maybe the previous owner liked to eat asparagus and urinate in the shower which goes right to the gray tank.
I'm entrigued by this possibility. But I am more inclined to try chemicals first. It was a hot three days with much peeing and very little flushing. So after three days the smell localized in the bathroom was unmistakebly urine. If dilution with more water and sanitizer doesn't resolve the problem, I will next investigate the vents. It seems like a venting issue. I will look there next. Thanks.

You said this is a used unit. You don't know how clean the previous owner kept the bathroom.
Drain the tank add some bleach and a lot of water. 3/4 a tank at least, drain and repeat. Same with the gray tank.
Clean the bathroom really well, outside of toilet, walls, floor, inside of cabinets. If you still have the odor, clean again.Thank you, bought as new and it is. This pungeant pee rising from the black tank. I can treat. But the fact that it enters the living space so freely that bothers me.

treat your gray water tank as well. a lot of the time that actually coming from the gray tank as it gets a lot of food scraps and soaps and such that rot because it is never thought of for tank treatment.

90 degrees out sounds like the ideal time to use the black tank treatments to try to neutralize the smells before they occur. At this point it’s probably to late to do anything effective. The likelihood of your vent being clogged is about nil.DW is reviewing treatment products. Any suggestions?

We plan on cabling the new genny to the back of the truck. But do any of you have an alarm hooked up to scare any bad guys away? We might be gone for a few hours and thought unwanted attention would be a deterrent, short of pissing off the neighbors.
