RE: Furrion Instant Hot Water in Cold Weather

Skibane, I replaced the cold air return grill with a twin window fan. It pressurizes the heat ducts enough to prevent freezing for me. It draws 27 watts on high. I have it connected to a manual thermostat. Before the fan I had used a 1500 watt heater inside the cabinets. It was not enough to prevent plumbing freeze ups.

RE: Thinking About a Class C

KD4UPL, Thanks for the correction. For some reason I thought he was talking about a 1999. (scratching my head).

RE: Wind Deflector

I have air tabs. They do reduce drag from big trucks. They don't appear to improve mileage--except when I have a tail wind--then they increase mileage more than when I did not have them. My RV was fairly stable to begin with. I placed them on the trailing edge of the air conditioner cover, and at the rear of the vehicle.

RE: Wind Deflector

I'd not be expecting much difference in mileage, but would be looking for a reduction in wind noise in the cab, and maybe a reduction in bug count. None of the videos by Blair seem address the truck cab/camper gap, other deflector on other type RVs. Consider Air Tabs?

RE: Thinking About a Class C

27 feet is the perfect size for a class C, assuming the 176" wheel base. 1990 is going to have the spark plug issue where there were too few threads, if it is the v-10.

RE: Help with Mobley device

I think Mobley at least sometimes uses 3g. AT&T are dropping 3g Feb 1, 2022. T-Mobile is dropping July 1st.

RE: Solar mppt controller, uses for "load" outputs

Due to the way Winnebago wired my coach, the chassis battery does not charge from shore power. My solar panels are wired parallel to that circuit. I bought a small 12vdc timer and have it set for 30 minutes every three days to use the "load" output trickle into the chassis battery. The timer was less than $10 and I intend to use it when I finish my 12 vdc solar landscape lighting system to turn the lights on and off. I would suggest an hour a day.

RE: USB C to USB C charging cable

I've never had one fail. I've lost a few. For a little while they had some that had led's. It was great to know there was power.

RE: 2000 watt pure sine wave inverter recommendation needed

Another vote for Samlex. But for inverter charger I'd pick Victron. As to capacity for a microwave I'd want 125% of the input wattage. The micro in the RV is 1561 watts so 2000 watts is just about perfect for size.

RE: Musk Starlink now has a new problem

Starlink is segmented into geographical service areas, referred to as cells. Each cell has a user limit, as well as other criteria that we aren’t privy to. You have to go into their portal and change your service location, which may be rejected if the cell that contains that service location is full, closed, etc… If you aren’t in or very close to the cell set in their portal, you won’t be able to connect. So does one set this up over the wobbly wide web? If so that implies one needs to do it before arriving?
