RE: Good battery for Boondocking Palomino Puma 19RL

Sandy5, If you plan on being a "rolling stone" then look into adding a dc to DC charger to the RV. Solar is, in my opinion the nearest thing to a free lunch you are likely to find. It need not be terribly expensive, and the battery bank will love it.

RE: Portable surge protector

Consider getting an autoformer instead of just a surge device.

RE: Good battery for Boondocking Palomino Puma 19RL

Sandy5, Welcome to the forums. For boondocking one wants the largest capacity deep cycle battery that will fit the available space. Where will you be located and using the RV? Is solar being considered?

RE: Bittersweet

Bad luck! I'd go for a trailer rather than 5th wheel. Some one is going to get an excellent RV!

RE: COVID PERSONAL EXPERIENCES

Hi all, Had my booster (moderna) yesterday. This morning the injection site is tender if I forget and bump it. 50 mg dose. I would rather that they would have done 100 mg.

RE: Setting Amp Hours In Battery Monitor

I have a shunted battery monitor. It gives you alot of information. In setup one of the parameters is to input the amp hours of your battery bank. Should I input the total 340 amp hours into the parameters settings of the monitor and just figure out as I have been doing or should I input the actual useable amp hours like 170 amp hours? It depends on if the meter uses a peukert calculation or not. If it does then use 340 OR do a full capacity test and use that number.

RE: Tesla with a generator on a hitch haul

I agree kwh is correct--but I was doing a "paste" from the tesla report.

RE: Tesla with a generator on a hitch haul

rjstractor, I found 24 kw to move 100 miles, on the wobbly wide web. (model 3 Tesla) However I did not know that when plugged in the tesla won't move. I guess that is a good safety feature.

RE: this is why

stir crazy since this is a debate I suggest you back up your statements with double blind studies, ones that are peer reviewed. are you but hurt? :B Don't be puerile. -30-

RE: Charge controllers

wfco is famous for not being able to get to "boost" voltages. Only a few lucky souls have reported success.

RE: LFP Info

Perry, The only reason to charge to 100% with Li is to "reset" the battery management system and "balance" the cells. Once a month appears to have several votes. Every thirty days to 100% is what is recommended for SiO2, but for entirely different reasons.

RE: Reducing push/pull from tractor trailers passing

navegator, I can't answer as I have only towed a utility trailer. So far as I am aware there was no swerving.

RE: this is why

Free Radical, Thanks for posting the link, The Tesla has a few advantages such as 82 kwh of storage! How lovely that would be.

RE: Charge controllers

HappyKayakers, Perhaps try using a volt meter on the output of the converter? Which converter do you have?

RE: Sizing a battery bank. Ah VS wh?

Sarahps33, Are you in the RV now? If so get a kill-a-watt meter and measure the consumption over a six day period. From that determine the watt-hours of storage needed. By extension that will allow you to size the solar wattage to fit your needs. I suggest looking at the predator 3500 inverter generator from Harbor Freight. I don't mean to be harsh but 2500 watt-hours per day is pretty low.
