RE: Trouble on the border

I do appreciate all of the replies and the different opinions. Problem being, this is now, March 2021 with the border wide open. A different today from yesterday. Things are not the same. We've been to many border towns over our 27 years of traveling in a motorhome with never a problem. Have walked across into Mexico many times. Again...this is now not yesterday. It is NOT just Mexicans crossing the border - it is South American countries. Personal opinion: FOX news tells it like it is. Not CNN with their coverups. PERSONAL OPINION!

RE: Trouble on the border

This mornings FOX 13 news said "Tens of thousands" are coming across the opened borders. They are not ALL good people looking for a better life. I'm concerned that a 40' diesel pusher could be inviting to one having motives in being driven somewhere comfortably instead of walking...

Trouble on the border

We have Big Bend, Texas on our list of things to see and do this year and we are wondering how safe it is with all the problems with the border crossings? Anyone have Big Bend on their list this year?

RE: Arizona Hwy 89 ALT info please

ppine, let it go...this whole thing was about 89A around Vermillion Cliffs - nothing to do with Flagstaff or Sedona. I don't ass-u-me anything, nor should you!

RE: Arizona Hwy 89 ALT info please

Thank y'all for your thoughts on 89A. Interesting. I should have made it clear that it was 89A around/through Vermillion Cliffs and not south of Flagstaff. We've traveled "Out West" (we are born and raised Florida flatlanders) many times and always try to find somewhere different. I should also mention we are 3/4 timers. 8 months we travel and return home to Florida for the winter, kind of like the snow birds but the opposite - we escape the summer heat. Anyone of you that have interesting places to go and see, we are open for suggestions. Thanks again!!

RE: Arizona Hwy 89 ALT info please

PPines AMAZING!! After 27 years of driving different diesel rigs just what makes you think we need to learn how to drive western mountain roads etc.?!! I asked about what was meant by "DROP OFFS". Have you driven this route? Do you know if the drop offs have shoulders, do they have guard rails, are the drop offs in the switch backs? Don't be so quick to answer if this is not a personal experience that you can give truthful answers and not to just be noticed on RV Net.

RE: Arizona Hwy 89 ALT info please

We will be coming south from Utah and getting on Hwy 89A out of Fredonia, Arizona doing the Vermillion Cliffs National Monument. 89A is the only route. My question is what are the drop offs like that are mentioned in the Mountain Directory? We are a 40' diesel towing a Jeep Liberty.

Arizona Hwy 89 ALT info please

The Mountain Directory West says that on Hwy 89ALT page 14 #22 "There are some long drop offs but it is generally a good road". My question: Can anyone tell me about these drop offs? Drop offs are NOT MY FAVORITE things!!

RE: Recommend a campground in Missouri

garmp, I appreciate your reply. I should have put in my post that we are a 40' diesel and can't get into most state parks. Also we find that most state parks have a lot of trees and tend to scratch the paint. We are looking for a big rig friendly park with concrete and few trees. Thanks again for your reply.

RE: Recommend a campground in Missouri

Sorry...I don't get the spellcheck bit. Please explain.

Recommend a campground in Missouri

We are looking for a campground in Missouri for a month/6 weeks in May. FHU, concrete pad and paved roads. Somewhere that is at a cooler elevation. Would like an open camp site for satellite reception. We know from past experiences that we pay our own electric. Thank you for your recommendations and I hope they are from your personal experience staying there.
